Tacitus... :::She finally looked up, but now only through tears. She had much to say, but was so tired of thinking them that she just cried. She didn't move. She just put her hands to cover her face as she sobbed, ashamed of herself for letting it get the best of her. It was exactly what was not allowed to happen:::

*Luke's seen Cora cry before, but every time.... He ******** hates it when she cries. It just... *
*He puts an awkward hand on her shoulder, but that's just what it is - awkward.*

There's got to be a way she can stay here, right? I mean, we get to leave any time we want to. It should work the other way around.

He slowly stood up, the chair falling to the ground behind him, quickly moving towards Cora. He just shook his head in responce to Luke, he didn't know. All his might outside the Brink... and he was helpless. He stepped closer and nodded again, this time as if to tell Luke to step back for a sec, wrapping an arm around Cora's waist as he moved closer and hushing her as he light ran a hand through her hair to calm her so she could let it all out. "Cora, its ok. Just let it all out. Its ok."

*It was a lot for Luke to take in, so much so that when he began to fade, it only made sense.*
*He wished he could have lent them with some parting word, but...there were none. He fades out, with a lot on his mind, mostly worried about Cora, and whether or not he was losing his own sense of sanity.*

He said nothing at first, but he held her close and leanen her head against his shoulder. He continued absently running his fingers through the outer wisps of her hair, quietly whispering, "Just let it all out. Cry as long as you need to, I'll be here for you."

:::Her thoughts plagued her. Yes, here. He was here, but when she returned to her time, he didn't exists. None of it did. What if the Brink decided never to bring her back? What would happen then? Another surge of tears and sobs came over her:::

He kept comforting her in the only way he could, simply being there for her, not knowing that he was slightly to blame for the newest batch of tears. He pulled away slightly, "Cora, look at me, just, please." He moved to pull her hands away from her face gently and hold her by the hand.

He placed each wrapped hand on either side of her face, almost forcibly making her look at him. The cloth wrappings that were wrapped tightly around his hand and wrists were rough, but had an old quality to them, softened, symbolic. Tac stared into Cora's eyes for a moment, not letting her turn away, "Cora, you look into my eyes and tell me that you see any doubt, that I'd ever let anything happen to you. I care about you too much, Cora. You should know that by now. Theres nothing to cry about, but if you need to, you can go ahead and cry all you need, my coat makes a good place to dry one's tears."

I have no doubt :::gasp::: that you wouldn't let anything happen to me. :::she chocked back another sob::: But this place is much more powerful than either of us, and our power is...beyond our means. :::The tears just kept coming, but at least now she was able to look at him:::

He carressed her cheeks with his thumbs for a moment, almost smiling that she would at least look at him now. He began to fade, so he made the most of it, leaning forward to give her a quick kiss, "Don't doubt the power of love."

:::Cora felt the pressure of his hand on her face fade away. She put her own hand upon her cheek, just to try to recreate the feeling. But when he was really gone, the tears came back. Her knees felt so week, but she did her best not to let them buckle. She paced aimlessly a second, but without looking in any direction, she began going to the keys. She picked hers up, and started for her room:::
