Make note to report to me after provisions are meet, or youd be volenteered to do a great deed for the dock keep by pulking the barnicles of the all docks...

Also, make haste with provisions, I would like to enjoy some shore leave.

*As the smells and sights of the waterfront flee-market overcame his sences, the thought of whether or not business aboard ship was being seen too. Was the ship's paint being retouched? Was Ms. Destiny taking Mr. Cubby into town to begin inventory count and restocking food stores? All these thoughts flashed through his mind. Hesitating on the thought of heading back to the dock, he thought better of it.*

I trust the crew knows what they are to do. Their duty is priority to them, or so I am lead to believe. It's vital that the chores are seen too. Though, they'll see to it proper.

Dr Baxter made his way out of the harbor area, then he stopped. He looked in either direction. He knew he needed to get supplies for the medical deck, but he didn't know how to go about it being broke. Also, this was his first time here, so he did not konw where anything was located. So he stood there thinking as to what he should do.

-As he finally arrived on the deck, the comotion he had heard a bit earlier had finally come to a stop.-

Ahh. It seems we finally docked somewhere.

-He looked around on deck and noticed the good doctor getting off. He followed behind hoping to get his "land legs" back.-

Yo doc! Where you off to? Are we going to explore or just shop around for supplies?

Destiny had been making out her list of supplies on three seperate sheets of paper: one for dry goods, one for fresh supplies, and one for other assorted items that the kitchen needed. She went to the strongbox hidden behind the empty flour bins, and removed a hidden bag of gold, for kitchen expenses. Tucking it inside her blouse, she left the pantry, and went out into the dining room where Cubby was waiting.
Grabbing Cubby by the arm, and making sure that they were both dressed as the Captain ordered, they left the ship and went in search of a grocery store. As they walked along the streets, they looked into the glass windows of the various shops-tailors; cobblers,fine materials, stables, inns, weaponry, groceries, and a ship-wright.
When they found the shop that they wanted, Destiny went in, and went straight to the counter while Cubby browsed the shelves.
The clerk was waiting behind the counter reading a dime novel, and looked up as she approached.
I need these items delivered to the ship that just berthed, the one flying the flag of Great Britain.
She handed him the lengthy list which read:

30 barrels of flour 200 lb of potatoe flakes
30 barrels of cornmeal 200 lb of onions
100 lb salt 100 lb pepper
100 lb apples( dried) 100 lb canned oranges
200 lb jerked meat 100 lb steaks
20 gallons dish washing soap 3 lb assorted spices( thyme, lemon zest
20 cakes yeast dill, basil, oregeno, cayenne pepper
cumin, cinamon, nutmeg, etc..)
.........................assorted other items

For the rest of the morning, and into the afternoon, Destiny, Cubby and the clerk were pulling the items from the shelves, retrieveing them from the warehouses, and loading them into several large wagons. The clerk promised that the supplies would be delivered to the ship later that night.

Destiny turned to Cubby, and told him to go enjoy himself for the rest of the day, but to be back at the ship come nightfall to help her stow the supplies in regulation fashion.
Watching Cubby stroll away, she began to peruse the nearby weaponry store. Gawking at the racks of beautiful swords, she gently ran her fingers up one blade and down another. Looking closely at the prices, most were out of her price range, by alot. But, towards the end of the rack, in a dusty corner filled with cobwebs, there was a smaller sword, covered with dust.
The sword was a dull silver color, with a deep blue leather sheath, with tarnished silver studs along the sheath. As she brushed the cobwebs away, she grasped the handle of the long sword, and pulled it from its sheath. It stuck in a few places, but she finally got it free. As she looked at the blade, there were designes of vines and trees down the blade, etched into the tarnished steel.
The hilt was wrapped in silver wire, with a strange crest woven in, a dragon blowing flame crossed over a rose.
Destiny slid the long sword back into its sheath, and then walked over to the clerk and asked how much. The clerk quoted a figure, right in her price range-she laid the gold down, and walked out with the sword in hand.
Walking back to the ship, she placed the sword in the space beneath her bunk,in her special hiding hole.
Standing up, she had every intention of joining Cubby for supper at the fine inn down by the waterfront.

Hearing John say something about counting the crew, the Dr turned around and returned to the ship. Standing on the dock next to the Lady he shouted

"First Mate John, It's the Doctor, I'm heading into the town to go about acquiring the provisions I need for the Medical Deck!"

He then stood there awaiting a reply.

Destiny had just climbed up out of the galley area, and was about to head back to the inn for supper, when she heard the first mate call out to let him know who was ashore.
Destiny piped up and yelled Ship's Cook Destiny and Assistant Cubby, purchasing supplies for the ship. Cubby ashore, I'm about to go back. That enough information John?

*Coming to the Ship with a huge bag full of stuff, he overhears the Crew's conversation over the subject of shoreleave.*

"I thank ye' all for reporting to Mr. John and making this an easy process. Now, I must let you all know something about purchasing items for the Ship's Company from the local merchants when in port. We have a procedure to follow:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Ship's Economic Standards~
For Ship's Stores Only
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Do as follows:

- List wanted items that are to be purchased for the Ship's Company.
- Take list to Mr. Cubby, our ship's Purser:

His job is to deal with the ship's Finances. He will record the items into the Ships Cargo Books, and record the Price of the Purchase into the Lady's Finance Logs. Once this is done, he will deal with the money side of the transfer.

- Assure Store Clerk of the Confirmation of Purchase.
- Mr. Cubby will see that the Clerk is paid directly. (Or, if we are under British Colours, he will place the purchase on His Majesty's Royal Naval Purchase Tab. Reek the benefits.)
- Oversee the purchased items shipped to the Ship and properly stored within it's cargohold.

This procedure is only for mass amounts of items that are for the general use of Ship's Company. It is meant to keep crew from spending their own money on the Ship, allowing them to keep money to purchase things for themselves rather than the Ship.
