I was just researching tacticle sword play and now I need to find a style of plate armour to pattern some power armour off of.
Any suggestions?

If it's for a mech, then I suggest General/Commander-style samurai armor. Two reasons: 1) It's durable while still providing a good range of mobility. And 2) I've always wanted to see a mech with true samurai-style armor, not that knockoff bogus s**t on Zakus. An Oda Nobunaga or Tokugawa Ieyasu style might be worth checking out.

Not a mech. Epsilon's armour won't even make him taller then six and a half feet. That and I'm opposed to such styles and due to the nature of its construction those styles don't make for good power armour.

Zakus still sucked. Except for Char's, because 1) It was ********' blood red, and that is the best damn color in the world, and 2) Char was hawt. whee heart 4laugh

That and Deity is based in Europe, so the whole Asian thing doesn't really suit them.
But in the whole scheme of the story line, there are samurai-ish suits of powered armor.

Zakus kicked a**. And I don't see anything remotely japanese in their armour construction. Hell, half of zeon's suits strike me as more towards western then eastern in style.
This is of course with going just Gundam and not Char's Counterattack where his Sazabi does bare faint resemblence.
