Taliesin frowned for a moment, resting the girl against his waist. For a moment he counts silently. "I'm Tali, we're playing hide and seek. Want to help me look?" '50 one-thousand.. 51 one thousand..' Tali froze for a moment before remember what number he was on. It was hard to count and talk at the same time.

Susaa? Selma tried to work through the toddler-speak and decided the child probably was trying to say her name was Susan? She'd go with it. If she was wrong, then oh well, the toddler would probably just correct her.

"Hello there Susan. Nice to meet you." She noticed how Tali was having difficulty counting with Susan distracting him. She whispered to him. "Want me to take her from you until you're done counting?"

Tali shot Selma a grateful and tried to hand Susan over. He continued to count under his breath. Hopefully, everyone would be hidden by the time he finished counting.

Semla reached for the toddler and placed her on her hip. "Yes you can help us look, but we have to let Tali finish counting first ok?"

Selma smiled, but then winced slightly as the toddler's fingers caught a snag unintentionally. "Thank you. I like your hair too." She brushed the girl's dark bangs out of her face.

Selma shifted the toddler's position slightly, trying to make both of them comfortable as she figured by Susan's sleepy expression that she might be there for a while. Soon enough the girl's eyes were closed and she was sleeping soundly.

"I guess I get to keep her for a while," she said, whispering to Tali as she moved to sit down with the girl on a nearby bench.

((sleep well!))

Parmida sighed as she followed Manelin into the basement. She wandered around as she looked for a hiding place. Not there. Not there. Not there. Not there. She marked places off mentally as she continued to look. Tali's voice wasn't as clear now. She wondered what number he was on for a moment, then turned her attention back to finding a place to hide. Ooo, hey, what was that? She backtracked some and stared at the place. Yes... It could work... She eyed the cloth-covered table before her. The cloth reached the ground. Very nice. Most likely very old to be treated so. She reached down and pulled the dust-covered cloth up. She very nearly sneezed as she went under and carefully put the cloth back in place after her.

Manelin grinned as he lit the last candle and finished placing it. Now, where to hide... He had been watching everyone else as they hid and wondered why no one used the wardrobe. It seemed like a good place to hide. He wandered over to it and looked at the doors. Now... Where'd that chair that Niki used to get on top go. He needed it to open the doors. Ah! There it was! He scooted it over towards the doors with loud scraping noises then climbed on top. He reached for the handles and tugged. Now that was odd... Why were they only coming out a little then stopping? Was someone already in there? Drat it!

He got back down and shoved the chair back into place. NOW where was he to hide? Hmm... Did Parmida have room under the table for him too? He wandered over and lifted the cloth only to be greeted with a shrieked "THIS IS MY HIDING SPOT! GET YOUR OWN!" He dropped the cloth as if it had turned blue and staggered back. Maybe not. He briefly wondered about hiding with Niki, then thought about Parmida's response. Maybe not. He had to get his own spot. He sighed, then wandered around some more. Maybe he could hide in plain sight? ... Not likely. How come everyone else had the good spots? He lit the candles! The candles... Didn't he place one...?

He quickly went over to it. Yes. There were curtains next to it. He blinked, took off his shoes, hid them at one end, and placed himself behind the other end. Ooo, hey, bonus shelf. He tested how much it could hold, then hoped up on it. It creaked some but held him. Now his feet didn't show! He wondered if he should get his shoes. Naw. Tali had to be close to finish counting. He wouldn't have time to get back to his hiding spot!

Parmida grumbled. How dare Manelin try to take her spot! Perhaps if she hadn't of screamed, she wouldn't have to change spots. Tali would surely traced her voice here! She grumbled all the way out from under the table and started looking some more. Oh, why not. She stalked over, opened the wardrobe doors, stepped inside, closed the door, and hid behind the white robes hanging in there. There were even shoes in there, so hopefully her's wouldn't stand out!

Some hard and pointy was poking into Edmunds back in the trunk. It seemed to be several centimeters tall, but not very thick at all.

"One hundered one thousand." Taliesin opened the door and yelled down the stairs, forgetting about Susan. "Ready or not, here we come!!"

He turned towards Selma. "Will you please help me find them?" Tali asked politely. "I could use the company.." The almost-teen gestured to the doorway.

"Sure thing Tali. It'll be fun," Selma said quietly, before reajusting the sleeping toddler on her hip as she got back to her feet. She moved towards the doorway and used her free hand to hold onto the railing as she decended the stairs into the basement.

Taliesin smiled to himself as Selma preceeded before him. His stomach still flip-flopped as he stepped into the flickering light of the basement. It was dim and for a moment 001 clung the stair railing. Almost stubbornly he loosened his hand and took one step down. The roiling in his stomach quieted somewhat with that successful step and Tali managed to follow Selma with the appearance of confidence.

He paused at the bottom and glanced around. Having never been down here before he couldn't tell what had been moved and what had originally been like that.

"What do you think? Where should we start?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 04, 2006 9:01 pm

Selma made her way to the bottom of the staircase without incident and without seeing Tali's little moment of unconfidence. She searched the candle-lit room for a moment with her eyes. The semi-darkness had a certain beauty to it and she smiled before turning to Tali. She surprised herself by semi-consiously admiring how the candles lit his profile. Shaking her head to clear it of the thoughts, she responded to him.

"Maybe we should start by looking in the boxes and such that are big enough to hold someone?" She grinned, "You were always better at this game than I was anyways,"

Tali grinned a little at Selma, nodding at his suggestion. "Sounds smart." He nodded at Selma's attestation that he was better at the game." Well, that's only because Niki couldn't keep quiet. It helps to have more than one person looking."

Glancing around again he spotted a large table, hung with a thick stained white cloth. Tappping Selma on the arm he gestured towards it and whispered. "You take one side and I take the other?"
