[Prompt Response | Amalia Stern]After flying around for a bit, Amalia located another titan. Gritting her teeth, she got as close as she could and slashed the cushion representing the nape in half. Yesenia looked over at Amalia as she put on her gear and grinned. The challenge was on! Even if she hadn't actually told Amalia there was a challenge, this time. Yesenia resolved to get the five kills before her rival did. Once her gear was equipped, she watched Amalia carefully to see when the green haired girl would set off - there! As soon as Amalia set off, Yesenia was off as well, into a different part of the forest. She didn't really want to compete with Amalia for kills.

"Remember, Hwan. Aim for the titans, not the trees." Jeong-jae sighed to his brother as they were ordered to head out and begin the final show of their abilities. His brother had formed a personal vendetta against the forest, never viewing trees the same after one had claimed their parents. It was a private topic, one that neither of the twins had shared with any of their new friends yet. It had happened a little over a year ago so it was something he'd grown to accept, even if it was never going to stop feeling fresh.
"I'll head right, you go left. We'll meet back up in the middle." Deciding to give them both some space to practice hurling themselves through the air- Jeong hoped that everyone would make it out of this week without any more losses or injuries. He'd been sad to see some of the other trainees quit or be denied further service due to their lack of skill. It was hard going through the process with everyone and not becoming friends.
Dark brown eyes glanced over to Larisa, who he'd learned was not following them into the scouts but rather heading for the Garrison. He supposed he should be happy, since he'd done everything in his power to persuade Melina not to join and endanger her life.
Metal coils shot through the air and swung into motion. Two blades slashed down at the nearest titan- one with a technically perfect hit while his other hand faltered- barely scraping the target.
Why did he feel so off balance?

Yesenia felt the wind caressing her body and laughed. It was freeing to be moving so quickly - far faster than she could run. She swept through the trees as she picked up speed.

Swinging around a tree, she went back the way she came and slashed straight through the faux titan's nape. Whooping at her first kill, she swung around another tree and continued on. Larisa couldn't get over how proud she was to be standing here, at the fourth and final week of 3d maneuver training. She'd proven she could use the gear well enough to remain, even after all those horrible mishaps and bruises, and there was only one test left. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves and telling herself that she was ready for this, the trainee tilted back her head to peer up at the forest again. It wasn't hard to catch sight of the shadows deeper in, the forms that didn't belong there, not after she'd spent so much time staring at those branches.
The thought that somewhere outside the Walls, those shadows were real things, huge and dangerous and terrible, was an uneasy one. She wouldn't have to deal with real titans so up close like this in the Garrison and honestly she was glad of that, but her friends... She heaved a sigh, pushing down that familiar surge of guilt. They'd told her they understood, so it was fine, and she needed to focus on completing her training! Nodding to herself, Larisa started forward to find a good starting point and did a last check on her gear just to be safe.
She caught sight of the twins heading out as she moved and quickly opened her mouth to call out a "Good luck!" Then it was off into the trees after them, green eyes searching out the unwelcome targets amongst the branches. The closest came into view very quickly and she twisted, swooping up and slashing across its neck neatly. She landed on a nearby branch, turning back to check, and grinned as she saw how deep the cut had gone. One titan down!

She sped up as she saw the titan and slashed through the cutout's neck. "Hell yeah!" She cheered as she killed her last titan and flew back to the starting area. Emerging from the trees, she spotted Amalia doing the same. "A tie, huh? I guess I can live with that." She grinned to herself.
