Victoria was almost done with her food already. So much for eating slowly, she thought, trying to ignore the slow rising burn in her cheeks. She saw Dante turn to look at the beverages other people had, which contained alcohol, and she caught the longing look on his face. She smiled gently at him and said softly, "You can order one. It won't bother me." It would a little, but she had already grown used to him by now. She took another bite of her food and then a sip of her own water before continuing quietly, "I guess I just like to work. I don't like sitting on my couch or anything much. It seems I always have to be doing something." At this thought, she smiled, thinking of her cat at home. "Sometimes I get up so I can just re-feed my cat for something to do." Her smile turned into an embarrassed look, because that sounded pitiful. She glanced quickly down at her food, away from Dante's wondering eyes.

Aria smiled and grabbed Daren's hand. She drug him up to the old looking theater and over to the booth where the ticket were sold.

"Two tickets for...wait for it...Twilight!"

Aria jumped up and down faking the role of a fangirl.

"That'll be $10."

Aria handed the ticketmaster and solid ten and walked into the theater.

"I don't know about you, but I enjoy my snacks."

Oblivious that she was still holding Daren's hand, she walked over and order popcorn, nachos, and a pink lemonade.

"Don't worry about it. It saved me a night of partying so it did some good. It's hard saying no to that life." He said as he waved down Maria. She walked over to the table. "Can I get the bill please?" Dante said. "Yes you can. Do you want any dessert?" She asked. "Two ice cream sundaes to go." Dante said. Maria nodded and came back with the bill and the ice creams after a few minutes.

Dante looked at the bill. It wasn't too bad. He wrote a note on the comment line. It thanked her for her help and said that the extra fifty was for her. He placed the money in the book and closed it. "Are you ready?" Dante asked.

Daren watched the movie silently, and made a few faces when Aria wasn't looking, aiming for the screen. This really WAS torture. The only good point was that he was sitting with a beautiful girl. He smiled over at Aria after only a half hour, watching her face being lit up by the screen. He turned his eyes back and rolled them when he saw "Edward" attempting to sparkle in the sunlight.


Victoria frowned at him when he told her not to worry about it. She would, of coarse. She nodded when he asked her a question and glanced down at his hand, wishing she was holding it. Her eyes bulged when she thought that and she had to turn away quickly so he wouldn't see her red face. What the devil is wrong with me, she thought, more shocked then angry at herself. She stayed behind Dante, trying to breathe evenly.

Aria glanced over and saw the face Daren made. She smiled and snuggled back into the chair beginnning to dig into the food.

"You want some? I have plenty?"

Dante put the empty ice cream container on the floor in the back. He turned onto the highway. It only took ten minutes to get to the lake. He turned onto the gravel road that led to the lake. Trees covered both sides of the road. He pulled into a parking space next to the water. It was peaceful there. The night sky was full of stars and the air was warm. There was a slight breeze since the leaves were moving. He unbuckled his seatbelt and turned off the car. He reached for the door handle and spoke.

"Not many people come out here anymore. On nights like these it would be filled with music and fun. Those were the good days." Dante trailed off a later at the end. He pushed the door open and sat there while playing with the radio. He put in a Led Zeppelin cd and stepped out the car. He motioned to Victoria for her to come, "It's going to get loud in a few mintues", he said as he looked for bench. He pointed over to the by the water that was under a tree. It wasn't too far from the parking lot.

"Well you're here now, so I guess that counts." Dante chuckled a little bit. He picked up a stick and tossed it into the water. "So do you have any siblings?" he paused. "Or were you an only child?" Dante put his arm on the back of the bench. He smiled at Victoria. He started to lip sing the words to Stairway to Heaven that were coming from the car. He stopped and began to think about the day.

The movie ended and Aria and Daren walked out. Aria hadn't finished all of the food she'd bought and so she now carried it out of the theater.

"So, didya like it? And by didya like it, I mean, did it torture you mercilessly?"
