He smirked and let her hang on him, putting an arm about her waist.

"I know Llothians. first reaction to an annoyance is sacrifice it. and those imps can be damned annoying."

Then picking her up, and carrying her to teh front door, well it was better then dragging her hanging off him, wasn't it? and knocking.

"Oracle. I have the gems you requested of me for your services."

Onyx wheeled around, wings flared out some, and saw it was Kat. well that was alright. hsi wings folded down and he calmed a bit.

"How are you doing, Kat? still working on your self tattooing?"

Aella opened the door for the two and stepped aside. "Bout time." Indeed, they took their time over such things didn't they? There were chairs pulled up already for them, if they wre inclined to sit.

Meilikki sat at the table of course, making a pretty good show of hiding her exaughstion. She stared past the two. "Finally to put this little part of the deal behind us. I have been missing me stones."

Moosntone made a much more softer landing....in modd if not in accuracy. He stumbled a bit, and simply...brushed the dust off his arms as he went into a rage. He'd seen it before. He looked at Kat. "Just don't get in the way, he mostly just throws furniture." Blood had soaked through most of his bandages, dripped down him or onto the floor.

"I see no point in blaming the Oracle."

"And I told them not to annoy her and they listen to me. They may joke around but the moment they start irritating, they'll back off." She was trying to shove on him all the reassurance she could possibly think of...if he'd worried it would just turn his mood. "Besides, I'll be having no sacrifices in my home thank you very much...it just won't fly. And as far as she's concerned she won't do anything to make me angry, lest I turn her over to her kin." Then a turn and look to Aella as she opened the door and Piper raised an eyebrow. "Well wasn't that cheery." But as most things she disregarded it with a shrug and stepped inside.

Kat's eyes widened when she saw the wounds all over the both of them. She ran back to get her bangaes and other things. She began by spreading honey of the gash in Moonstones arm to seel the wond and warpped th eminore ones in fresh wrappings, some with a salve to stop infections. She then turned and did the same for Onyx.

"Yes, I just finished a few minutes ago. It's somethign I really enjoy doing." She now had an elaborate sun spreading across one shoudler, and a moon with several stars crossing over her chest on the other. She was bare foot but didn't mention the small on on her ankle.

"What in the world happened? Is Bode all right?'

Again teh poor Drow was confused, "But I thought we were having fun?" She now had two imps hanging off of her and she wasn't entirely sure what to do. Apparentely hugging was allowed to be done in multiples as opposed to just two perfect strangers with each other. She wasn't sure how long a hug was supposed to last either but if the one she'd been given so far was any indication, it coul take a while. Was she supposed to squeeze them the whole time? That would be impossible to squeeze them and continue petting the griffin adn the griffin had made it perfectly clear that petting was not to stop. What to do?
PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 8:29 pm

"Well, this is highly amusing...."

"Maybe we should just try going for the longest hug record?"

"Gee...maybe..."

"Or we could go onto the roof, throw dinner plates, and then throw rocks at them to try and take them down!"

"Holy mother of god, that would totally rock!"

"Do you wanna go, Star Fower? Huh, do ya?" They both pulled back a bit, huge puppy dog eyes and smiles on their faces.

Ashlyn flapped her wings a bit. He, she wasn't against going outside. As long as she was given a pat every now and then, she supposed she'd survive.

"Good to see you too, whirlwind..Oracle."

He moved to the seat, sitting down and set the bag on the table.

"You look exhausted. don't you rest or sleep? a human body can only take so much, you know, before it will break down either physically or mentally."

A glance at Piper, and the blade on her hip.

"And we brought a weapon to get blessed by Ton's mother, if she see's fit, and if that is going to be arranged for this evening."

Onyx looked at his twin.

"She should have sent her people to deal with this before it got to that point. or warned us before time or something. and she stopepd my challenge to that bullheaded brute."

PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 8:39 pm

"It hasn't been a cheerful day."

"You're concern is endering. But I haven't sleept more than two hours a night since long before we last met." A little wave of dismissle. "I'm used to it."

"If you are ready to leave this evening than Tanundra is ready to take you. It is a long journey, and you will need three nights worth of food. Or, allow the dragon to hunt for you. That will take longer though." She raised her eyes to look some place between the two visitors. "You steeds, unique and gifted as they are, may not go."

She pulled the bag to her after feeling around on the table for it, pulled out each jewl one by one. She nodded, sweeping them back into the bag. "These will do."

"Were you not listening at all, Onyx? She said she can't see anythign that is directly related to the dead. She didn't even knw Bode was missing. Or if she did, she didn't know where she was. And perhaps, if you've noticed...she's blind. Hard to move around quickly when you can't see a thing."

He looked at Kat, thanked her for the treatment. "Bode's fine, she's with ehr father now."

Did she? Well she looked at her choices. She could sit here with two imps hanging arond her neck like a bad piece of jewelry and a griffin;s head in her lap or she could go onto the roof and help destroy things. Gee, what choices she had. She didn't have to actually destroy anything just watch and make sure the imps stayed out of trouble. Who knew? Maybe it would be fun. Fun. She ran the word over and over in her brain. Fun. What was the definition of fun. It seemed to be different from hers. Had she ever really had fun? Well she'd never had a...what was that word? Hug. Yes. She'd never had a hug before and that was supposed to be a form of fun so maybe she didn't really know what she was missing. And after all maybe they destroyed things all the time here. Who was she to judge? She'd made a vow to embrace this new way of life and if that meant tossing plates off of the roof then so be it. "Okay...let's go."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 8:44 pm

Oh well that just fell right into place now didn't it. And a look to her side at that said sword. "Well it's work but it's necessary work. We can go if you wish Malik." He weaseled that right in now didn't he? Though no doubt he would have to do on a 'we have to prepare' kick. Normally Piper would object and say let's go...but that was twenty years ago and more than a few of Malik's traits rubbed off on her...she liked to prepare somewhat these days. "Alrigth then A'mael, what do you wish to do then?" Serino wouldn't be happy.

"Well, since Piper has put me on grounding from work, I might as well take the opportunity to get some done as quickly as I can before I'm not allowed to go. SO if you have any rations to spare, we can pay you for them and we'll leave now on Tanundra."

A glance at Piper.

"What are we going to do about Nightmare and Serino?"

Onyx grumbled.

"Yes I heard. but last I checked Warren was not dead, or involved with the dead. and as for us...we got into a fight with a few of the captians men. namely a minotaur, kobold, centuar, and I thnk a gnome. and a human wizard. and we held our own just fine thank you."

PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 10:07 pm

"I'll go tell them the deal...and I'll have Serino bring back some supplies for us as well. He can do it quick...I'd ask Nightmare to as well but she doesn't need to be lugging around anythign through shadow. Serino is a bit faster on instant ways." A look around the room before she found a scarp of paper and something to write with, jotting down a quick list as well as some instructions...slaves couldn't understand Serino after all. And she patted Malik on the shoulder, walking outside the keep to the two horses, Nightmare still irritated from whatever the hell Tarathiel had around the place. A pet to both steeds. "Malik and I are going to go get this weapon blessed...but you can't come. A dragon has to take us. Serino, I need you to take these intructions home, give them to a slave and have them carried out. Once done you come back here, fast as possible with what you are given." She knew those slaves would move as fast as they could after all. Attention to Nightmare. "I want you to rest and take care of yourself. I know I promised you Malik's time and it's being cut short...but you'll have it again, that I promise you. And I've come through thus far. Now get going both of you." They both seemed to give her skeptical looks before they agreed between themselves, both blipping out, one in wind the other shadow. "The things I let him get into." And back inside with herself. So...three says of roughing it?

Leaning heavily against a wall, Tarathiel examined his armour and smiled. It had absorbed the majorit of that fireball, just not all of it. Magic really did hurt, when it could hurt you. "Fire really does hurt... I'll have to get me a new ring."

"Ring?" The similarly crisp halfling asked.

"Magic rings... Don't you have any?"

"Err... No, I can't say that I do."

"They are very common where I am from, as is everything magical. My mother rides around on a floating disk, my house has no doors, we have Portable Holes that can be removed to change the layout of the floors to prevent invasions from working effectively. The water is heated by an elemental that is continously summoned by a jar, and the food is crafted by the cooking implements, not to mention that it is grown inside a box."

"That... Sounds amazing. How does one live with such extensive magic always present." Gil asked inquisitively, waiting for his dog to return from his mission.

"Most male Drow in my family are fighters, we learn how to fight, and then we march on our enemies. We usually don't live much longer than eight hundred years... I guess you could say, that the natural life expectancy in my family is about eight hundred for a male. I am almost there." Relatively speaking. "So, in truth, we don't really live with most of the nifty things, if I could, I would have aquired a Disk like my mother's, but somethings are better left alone."

"What could be so horrid about a floating disk?"

"Well, the first ingrediant for crafting a permanent disk is the soul of a pure infant."

"Infant?"

"Yes, Infant. My kin prefer surface elves, they rather enjoy crafting things from those souls..."

"You sound rather unamused by this?"

"Well, I guess I do revel in killing babies."

"That is honourable."

"Unfortunately, I rather enjoy a good fight."

"Warmonger are you. Maybe, if you became a DEFENDER of something you would not need seek opponents, they would come to you."

"What? Paladin, did you get hit on the head that hard?"

"Well, as a DEFENDER of all, I am constantly in battle, but never of my chosing."

"So, you are saying that I will get into fights because people attack defenders?"

"How many defenders have you killed?"

"Err... I don't know..."

"Well, turn a leaf, hold your magnificent blades infront of the storms, and shout with pride, NONE SHALL PASS." Gil proudly displayed his courage with a galent pose.

Tarathiel chuckled at this, and because he was seriously considering trying to defend... It seemed, rather enjoyable. At the very least, he would avoid... More importantly, he would be able to angre his sisters and mother. Being good had its advantages. "You know, I rather enjoyed feeding those orphans."

"You fed orphans? Why would you do that?"

"I am called the son of Chaos, why do you think that is?"

"You destroy everything you touch?"

Tarathiel laughed heartily, "No, but to be honest it does seem that way. I am called the son of Chaos because I do what I want when I want for what ever reason I desire. A rule guides my path, unless, I obey someone's orders, which means I am breaking the rules, unless you see that I can't brack the rule I laid out before me. It is not posible to always be chaotice, because that is lawful. I am a contradiction to Lolth's teachings, yet that makes me closer to her fury hands."

"You logic is stunning." Gil rubed his shoulder, a sword hit him rather hard there. "You seem to understand the universe quite well, why do you live as you do?"

"I can't live any other way." Tarathiel replied.

"Why not?"

"I am a drow."

"That doesn't make sense, what does race have to do with the way you live?"

"People will never accept me as they might a surface elf. Since my skin is black, and my people raid every inch of this Darkness, I cannot find anywhere to settle where my skin colour would not cause strife in and of itself."

"You tried to live as a gentle soul in a remote kingdom?"

"Murdering a helpless child often does that to people, you know, regret."

"You feel regret?"

"I guess, but remember I am drow."

"The stigma of Drow keeps you from becoming a hero?"

"I guess so."

"That... seems wrong."

"Justice is not for Lolth's favorite race. We are to suffer the chaos through eternity."

"This is..."

"My life."

Gil felt the familiar nudge of Braver's nuzzle. "The tunnles are empty... Captain, why didn't your friends scout it out for you?"

"Oh, the Shadow faded."

"Shadow?"

"A type of undead that can commune with shadows."

"A shadow told you about the Soul Drinkers?"

"Yes."

Gil merely raised a brow to that.

"If you decide not to kill me when we reach the end of this tunnel, I know a good dwarf who can make you a nice helmet to replace the one that saved your life."

"Where did it go?"

"It hit the ground pretty hard... It wasn't a pretty hit was it?"

"No, I felt rather dazed. Thankfully Braver was there to save me."

"Actually, that was me. Braver was busy fighting the two ceiling crawlers."

"How? Why?"

"My secret. I like you."

The halfling was stunned. This drow was too enigmatic to be the monster that Elric always described to recruits. He was decent if not completely insane. "Well, I'll ask Helm, and he'll judge you." Gil shoke his head, he was now speaking like the drow. "Might I ask you your name for the judgement?"

"Well, for Helm... Kimmuriel Daermon N'a'shezbaernon" Tarathiel smiled, the taken name would have worked, probably, but he would rather not reveal that secret to the halfling... yet.

"Kimmuriel Daermon N'a'shezbaernon..." The name seemed familiar, perhaps something Celeste or Elric said once, or maybe just that last part... "Are you... a Prince?"

"Somewhat."

"Somewhat?"

"In reguards to my mother's a queen, yes."

"Then you are a prince."

"Not really."

"What do you mean?! How can you be both royal and not royal!"

"Being male."

"What!"

"Yeah, there's nothing for me back there, except a sister who thinks I am a god, with an entire cult following."

"Cult, you have a cult?"

"Are you surprised? Didn't the elves tell you about all the nasty things I did?"

"After a while, it seemed like they were exadurating..."

"Well, apparently I have two mothers. The Queen b***h, and the Goddess b***h."

"You are a demi-god?"

"Well, probably not. How can a man have two mothers and no father?"

"Gods do strange things..."

"Lloth is only a demon."

"That we can agree on."

"Ok, we equally hate Lloth. But, I server her as you do."

"How can you say that, I commune with Helm, the Great DEF-"

Tarathiel cut him off, "der. I know, but to tell you the truth, anyone anywhere who causes any chaos in the least bit, is doing her bidding."

"How do I create chaos?"

"I'll-er... Well- Do you smell fresh water?"

"No, how do you smell fresh water?"

"Hang around sludge for a few days."

"What?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:14 pm

"Kimmuriel, are you evil because you have to be, or because you are expected to be?" Gil asked the drow, who was cleaning a few injuries that seemed to have healed extensively in the time between aquiring them and now. Odd, but not completely unexpected now. Gil himself had a few healing magics about him, but he was no proficient cleric.

The drow prince washed his face, and stared at the dark pool. "I guess so."

"You guess what?"

"So."

"Huh?"

"Nevermind. Do you know where the wind comes from?"

"The wind? The top part of the caves."

"Why?"

"The gods do it?"

"A mage is another common response, but are we sure someone would take the time to actually do that? Could the god of wind really spend all his time crafting the breeze that sails my ship?"

"What else would he do?" Gil paused, "You are the way you are because you have nothing else to do?"

"I guess so."

The halfling leaned over the pool, and washed his own face. "I am the way I am because I chose to be a herold of Helm. You do not have that choice do you?"

"Or I am manipulating you to think that I don't."

"Would you do that... Elric believes that you would."

"Believed. I am pretty sure he is dead."

"No, he's alive. He always said that he wouldn't die until you were long dead."

"He's going to live a very long time then."

"Why do you change the subject so suddenly... Oh, right, Chaos."

"Indeed."

"You have a tendency to say that, it is like you are agree with what ever I have to say." Gil looked at the drow, and noticed that the purple-red eyes were narrow, but not threatening, like a tired look.

"I am very submissive in the end."

"In the end?"

"I like to challenge people who might be able to contend with me, like the Blue skinned Drow... He doesn't bite as much as he barks though."

"That might be true, but some loud dogs have big teeth."

"He does have very white teeth."

"You looked at his teeth?"

"Malevolence."

"What does hate have to do with such detail? Are you obsessed with this man?"

"That would be his very white teeth."

"What do you mean?"

"He has a big nasty sword. One I would see destroyed if I had the chance."

"Why?"

"Its a blue mage."

"What do you have against blue mages?"

"They steal the power of the natural world and keep it for themselves. I have never meet a blue mage I admired. On top of that, the blade reads my mind."

"How evil."

"Psions are not evil because they invade your mind, I would just rather keep my secrets secret."

"That makes sense... Secrets?"

"Well, other than my sister lover, and killing the Prince Tarathiel, I have no secrets I wish to keep from that one."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, he is convinced that I will raid his home, and steal his beloved things. As long as he thinks that, I am pretty set. Though, he does have some just cause, I did break into his house once. I killed an ogre and took its collar."

"An ogre? I have never meet an ogre who did not deserve to die."

"Few ever reach the maturity to think, did you know that Ogres are just small giants?"

"No, I thought they were imbred large humans with big necks."

"Well, that is always possible too." Tarathiel sighed. "I am in a real rush to get back..."

"Are you feeling guilty?"

"Well, Elric's hatred of me was used against him, and now at least a good third of his crew is dead because you all chased me into the Dark. I used him, I guess."

"What makes you say that?"

"The enemies that fell upon you were my enemies."

"How do you know that?"

"How many wizards do you know keep a large selection of undead minions stalking around? Most living beings only summon the undead at the last moment to boost their forces."

"What are you saying, you brought us here to fight your enemies?"

"No, I didn't know we would get here."

"Neither did I."

"I know, and I feel like we have been travelling in circles. Perhaps we should look for another portal. The one we fell in might be a common occurance here, it would be similar to something done back home." No need to explain further.

"I think this tunnel will lead us to where we need to be."

"Need is not always the same as want."

"To have the two the same is truly wonderful, but the wants must be forgotten in order to be a hero."

"Oh."

"You seem to know this."

"My Warhammer tought me that."

"Your weapon tought you philosophy?"

"Warhammer is the name of the Minotaur who serves me in exchange for his peoples protection from the Drow."

"Does it work?"

"Partially. The minotaurs are fairly far away from the Drow, so the expedition would literally have to be a blow against me. The only ones who would consider such a thing are not strong enough to sack them anyway. A few thousand bulls can crush an unprepared force."

"Few thousand?"

"One for a few thousand."

"That is heroic."

"I don't even know if the deal was necessary, but WH used a spell to seal the deal. I think the fires of hell will rain down on my homeland should they dare attack."

"A powerful spell."

"A binding spell."

"Would it work?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Mostly everyone would live."

"Why?"

"The Drow are mostly immune to magic."

"Mostly?"

"It works sometimes."

"Sometimes?"

"Sometimes."

"Do you hear the sea?"

"Yes, for some time now."

"Why didn't you mention it?"

"Is it important that you knew that we were walking to the sea?"

"How long have we been walking?"

"Well, I couldn't tell you if I wanted to. I have no sense of time, being both an elf and not having anything to gage it by. If we were on a ship I could tell you..."

"Why the sea?"

"Sailing or the flooding??"

"Flooding?"

"Haven't you ever noticed that there is too much water down here?"

"What do you imply."

"Maybe, we are on the surface."

"What?"

"Well, look at how the ceiling slopes, its consistant, like a god carved it and placed it there to cover the earth to scorn the people."

"Helm would never allow such a thing."

"How can you dictate the will of your god?"

"Because... Because that would make him an aggressor, when he is the Great Defender of the Universe."

"Because it would be a contradiction to everything you precieve your god to be."

"Yes."

"Ok, then my theory is wrong."

"What, you gave that up rather easily?"

"I only like to fight with my swords."

"Why"

"Because, I am a fighter. It is what I do."

"You could always become more than just another fighter?"

"To what end?" Tarathiel's voice was sombre, which seemed rather strange to the halfling, up until this point, he had remained rather monotone, his voice showing his inward regret yet superficially cheerful. The drow actually seemed to be feeling strong emotions other than the one carried by his race.

"Your end." Gil replied with a strong, outstanding tone.

"What an end it shall be."

"Indeed." The halfling said with a rather cheerful tone, which made the drow smile and laugh.

Meilikki nodded a bit. "I have a day's worth of stuffs to spare at present. Food is getting more difficult for us to aquire, with Lostagrace being in it's current state." She pointed at the door. "You'll find packs outside by the dragon. He is ready and waiting for you."

She listened to their footsteps as they left. "Say hello to my ancestor for me."

Moonstone sighed, not much in the mood to argue with his brother, since he had such a weak argument anyway. He didn't know the inner workings of the Oracle's mind. Maybe she was holding back on them, maybe she really had become the Captains slave. And if so, had it been her own choice, or was it forced upon her? Perhaps the captain had become the Oracle's slave. Perhaps, behind it all, Aella was a powerful demon in disguis and was simply waiting for the right moment to devour them all. Ah speculations, mostly there to keep the mind entertained.

"Well, how about you keep in mind to at least ask the wizard for his side of the story, hm?"

"She said sure!"

"Oh, wow! We are going to have so much fun!" The two broke the hug and tripped over each other in the haste to get to the kitchen. Evading slaves like it was their job, the grabbed armfulls of plates, bowls, cups and any other breakable pottery. How they managed to balance it all was a wonder in itself.

Jaun scrambled up to the roof, his claws and flapping wings making for an easy climb, and jell started hadning him the china. Soon, cook wear was spread out over the roof, in hazardous piles, ready to be thrown. They collected rocks too, and stashed them where they could.

"Come on Star Flower! Do you need help getting up?"
