Enki Leviathan
Find me better ones and I'll consider it. And I want CREATURES, not Gods! So find me a good Earth creature and a good wind creature and all will be well...

My theory was, those aren't the ACTUAL looks of the deities... I was thinking wind was a creature who was commonly said to take the shape of a woman in the clouds. Earth is going to be a big Lizard-Man who lives in the mountains

But Efreet's already been qualified as a god, and you've got the Leviathan wielding power that rivals one.

I mean, what else are the deities gonna look like? People? Globules of rotating light? There -can't- be another Efreet, and as far as I know Enki is the Leviathan, everything else is just a sea serpent or whatever (ie. they don't wield the same power he does). And if there's only going to be one wind and one earth, then why wouldn't those be their -actual- looks?

I understand if what you're aiming for is just an animalistic appearance to the guardians rather than something more Greek: gods who look like powerful men and women 'n whatnot, but not if you're looking for spirit animals or whatever, holy representatives 'n crap.

Newaiz, the Slavic names don't fit the pattern you set up with the other three, they're way too extravagant. Seraphim and Leviathan are right recognizable, and people think of Ifrit when you say Efreet, no matter how little Ed based the latter off the former. Junk like Veja-Motina and Zwei Gorynich don't mix properly. Your idea for wind's form works fine, but cut the name down to like, Veja, and drop all the regional source material. These are -our- deities, not other country's.

Earth should be Titan, base him off the Shadow of the Colossus giants or something.

acacia> i think it would. petrification is petrification, doesn't matter if the one being turned into a statue is alive or dead. the body turns into rock. now... beware the necromancer who knows geomancy.

shou> we'd call him colossus since we don't wanna associate too heavily with ff.

I was thinking of setting a large herd of Cockatrice on the zombie horde's in barton. Do any of the necromancer's responsible know geomancy?

You do hold a mighty fine point when it comes to the names and regional material. I shall nerf those. In the point of gods and such, myth. Myth is based on small amounts of truth. The Leviathan didn't REALLY have enough power to rival that of God himself, but there probably is a bit of truth to that.

Though due to your concern, you've given me a wonderful idea... re-write all of the gaurdians tales. Keep in some elements of their true tales, but give them all nifty stories... Veja, I shall keep... but can anyone think of a better name for Earth?

Just on this page we have "Titan" and "Colossus"... I dont' see what's wrong with those.

The talk of petrification makes me think of some sort of a wicked-a** basilisk would make a nice Earth-Diety-Thingy too. But I figure you could say "The Colossus" or "The Titan" but if it was a basilisk, you'd need a new name.

I'm not usually so good with those.

Ok, so... in the running for Earth creature we've got:
Big Lizard Man
Earthy Rocky Thing
And "wicked-a** basilisk"

There's one slightly cryptic but yet blazingly obvious vote for "giant earthy rocky thing."

A basilisk would be ineffective against zombies because zombies aren't known for making eye contact. Cocatrice however petrify by touch so all you have to do is send one running through a crowd of zombies and BAM they're taken care of.. hopefully.
