Because you can only find Isshu native Pokemon there. Most of the people Ash has met in Isshu so far haven't even seen a Pikachu before. Its quite interesting actually.

Yeah, a lot of the people were kinda shocked at Pikachu and wondered what it is. I mean, they have a Buffalo counterpart of Tauros.

Yes and no; in the game you can find non-Isshu Pokemon, but only after you've beaten the main plot of the game (up to and including the Elite Four).

Man I am really fond of the Isshu Pokemon now. I disliked so many of them when the full list was fully revealed, mainly because way too many of them just looked like robots, but I LOVE the new type combinations these guys have. I kinda like the Raijin trio too even though I still think its stupid to have obviously Asian culture inspired Pokemon in the Pokemon equivalent of America.

I has a Buffalon too. :B That thing's hella overpowered for a normal type. "Okay let's take out this Buffalon.. wait why is Sleep Powder not working? and why is its stats raising every time I try- OH MY GOD NO ITS DESTROYING MY TEAM. D:"

Ahaha I don't know really. xD But I'm not a Pokemon designer so. *shrugs* But hell, if we can have a Pokemon inspired by the V sign then surely they could have thought of something a little more America related. I could see the Raijin trio being in the previous regions, just not Isshu.

Yeah, one of the game creators, Junichi Masuda, officially said that Isshu was inspired by America. Not like it wasn't completely obvious before he confirmed it since you've got a red, white and blue eagle, a Pokemon basically inspired by the V sign/victory, Hiun (aka New York) City and the Liberty Garden, a cowboy Gym Leader, rugby/football players have their own trainer class and I could just keep going on.

And it is glorious.

Well I'm going to be honest, I don't really think they can make anything based on American culture because American culture's strong point is pretty much having everyone else's cultures at your finger tips. Am I wrong? o.o

Hey, I could be wrong. Maybe the next place that is next to Isshu could have like... An Eagle legendary or something.
Not like I'm going to use them. I never use a Legendary. o.0
Usually when I catch them, if I added them to my party it'd just throw my plans outta whack.
