Meimei sighed heavily, murmuring some things in what sounded suspiciously like Spanish, then speaking up again. "Well, que sera, sera, I suppose. You're just going to have to try your best, sweetheart, to get through the next few days. Don't try too hard to remember things because it won't help any, alright? We don't want you straining yourself. It might do more harm than good, anyways. I have a potion..." she trailed off, muttering softly to herself as she bustled away to the cabinets in her office, trying to find this mysterious potion.

"Aha!" She turned around brightly, potion in hand. "Oh, dear, it's expired..." She sighed. "Well, hun, I'll make some more of this potion--it's not going to help much with memory recover, I'm afraid, doll, but it'll soothe any aftereffects from last night, okay? You performed some... well, some powerful magic, and I want to make sure you're good as new right soon!" She nodded, her 50s-styled hair bouncing with the movement. "Not to worry; come by after dinner and I should have some for you, okay, dearie?"

Arielle had removed her hands from her face and briefly stroked Akira's hair; she took this as a fault on her part. If she were more responsible--if she were a better Headmistress, this wouldn't have happened. She'd need to do better in the future. She stood up when Meimei finished; she had some things to say to Akira, mostly that avoided the previous night.

{{LOL!! I was JUST going to come on here and have Ever turn around since Meimei never came when she entered the hospital wing, and then you happen to post right before I do that! LOL! That's funny. But I still think I'll have Ever turn around now.}}

Ever sighed, turned around, and walked back out of the hospital wing. She wanted to see Akira, but since Meimei or her other nurses had never showed up, she just assumed that they were busy and that it would be a bad time for Ever to visit. She'd stop back by later that night. Hopefully things will have calmed down by then.

So, Ever started walking up the stairs to the 3rd floor, went to Aurora's room, knocked, and then entered her dorm room. She went into the bathroom and then entered the Room.

Raven gasped softly. "You're actually back here already? I'm impressed, Ever! It's nice to see that you have your priorities straight now and..."

Ever sighed as she went and sat down on the large leather recliner she had been in before. The book she had been reading was still on the little table next to the chair.

"I haven't changed my mind, Raven. I'm still going on tour and I'm still going to those meetings, but like I said before, I can do both that and this."

Raven huffed and flitted over to the first large shelf of books. She started using her powers to pull out different books and skimming through them, looking for clues.

Aurora watched boredly as Evermore, followed by that funny light-fairy, walked through her room and into the shower, and from there to the Room. It wasn't something she'd necessarily expected, she decided as she continued to hum softly, but it was something she realized she should get used to. Evermore would be in need of that Room, and it just so happened to be in her dorm's shower. Of all places... Well, at least they'd found it. It could have been in, oh, perhaps the custodian's closet or a male teacher's rooms, or even someplace weirder.

All in all, her shower wasn't a bad place. It was quite lucky.

Then again, Aurora mused as she pulled her hair into a hime-styled lolita poof with a simple headband holding everything but her bangs out of her face. She didn't have anything to do, and didn't know if Bo was up yet, so she decided to go talk to Evermore.

She went into her bathroom and into the shower, then through the door that materialized in its wall. "Hello, Evermore," she said. "Would you like some help with the research?"

Ever looked up as she heard Aurora's voice and she smiled brightly at her. "Aurora, hey! It's good to see you. We haven't had a chance to really talk or hang out in awhile."

She nodded to her hair. "I really like what you've done with your hair. It looks really cute on you."

Then, she looked down at her book and laughed softly. "Yeah, help would be much appreciated, you have no idea."

Raven bounced in the air excitedly where she was at one of the long bookshelves. "Oh, thank you Aurora! I've put the books that look like they might have some kind of information about the lake, Relic, or both on that long study table over there by the enchanted window. How awesome is that window?! It shows the outside perfectly, but no one can see the window from the outside!"

Aurora smiled and said, "Thank you." She looked out the window that Raven pointed out. "It is a nice window," she conceded. It was a nice day, too; not extremely sunny, but still bright. Sparse clouds kept the bright rays at a tolerable level.

She skimmed her hand along the books and picked up one from the top in the center. It was old, but newer than many, and had a ruby-red cover. No title was given, but the front had a magnificent depiction of Bai Ching's lake.

"This looks nice..." she mused.

Ever flipped a page in the book she was reading and spoke in a normal tone, as if what she was about to say was completely reasonable and normal.

"Oh, and you might want to be careful with some of those books. I think they're enchanted. I opened one about the lake and it sprayed me with water."

((Sorry for the delay; had a bit of writer's block for this post and been terribly busy >< ))

Akira grinned and nodded, no longer looking like a scared and lost puppy, yet not completely back to normal either.

"Alright, I think I got it...No straining my mind, but do my best, come back after dinner for a potion and check up...Right? But umm...When's dinner exactly? And where do I eat anyways..." asked the girl, speaking her thoughts out loud and getting mighty confused again.

However, she smiled brightly when the Headmistress stroked her long dirty blonde hair though; it felt nice and familiar somehow...

At that moment, Kilala spoke to her master mentally, but calming, so not to startle the girl.

"Don't worry about those things, Akira. I'll lead you where ever you want to go, since you're my master and even though you don't remember me right now, I'll always stay by your side, alright?"

Akira blinked and looked at the Demonic cat, a little spooked that a Feline with blood red eyes had just spoken to her telepathically, but she trusted the cat's words and rubbed one of her ears gently, smiling warmly.

"Alright, thanks, Kilala." she agreed, then looked up at Arielle and said hesitantly, "Do you...Have anything else to tell me? I just have a feeling you do, if not, sorry for asking..."

Aurora blinked and then suddenly became very wary about opening this book. She didn't want to get wet... but at the same time, she really wanted to open this book. It was too pretty not to open. So she pointed it away from her and then opened it. When nothing happened, she turned it back towards herself, and was pleased to see only text.

It turned out to be a very unhelpful book, Aurora found. It only spoke of the fairies that danced upon the lake, and nothing of anything within the lake or legends surrounding it. The most helpful part told only of what they were already certain of: there was some sort of magical object inside the lake, and that was, according to this book, why the fairies gathered each night.

Aurora sighed. "This didn't say anything I didn't already know..." she murmured dejectedly.

{{Thanks for remembering what I wrote about the fairies and that the magical item in the lake is what attracts them to it, Secret! biggrin }}

Ever looked up at the book Secret was holding and nodded. "Doesn't that almost always seem to be the case? You get something really pretty and attractive and it turns out to be dull and boring on the inside. It sucks."

She propped up her book better in her lap and then pulled to more books to rest on the arm rests of her chair. Then, she nodded at Aurora to come over.

"I think I might have stumbled upon something, though. I've noticed in several books I've been reading that a lady archer keeps getting mentioned. They talk about a lady archer coming to this lake and building her house nearby it because she loved it so much. The entire forest and lake seemed to come back to life when she moved in, but that's where all the stories end. None of them say if or when she died or even what her importance was either than helping bring life back to the area around here."

"I mean, it can't be a coincidence that she's mentioned so many times, but if she is really important, I also don't think that these school books would elaborate upon her too much so that the information didn't fall into the wrong hands, you know? They'd want to keep it secret."

She sighed and leaned back in her chair. "But I could totally be grasping at straws here in sheer desperation."

Aurora, with her mind now melded, in a way, with that of her Sphinx familiar, began to think everything over. "Well..." she began. "Yes. The logical conclusion is that this archeress is very important, though why or how seems to be very much what we need and what these books lack." She bit her lip lightly in thought, and stared out the window.

"...A code, perhaps?" she mused, Altan's brain working subconsciously with hers. "Where the little details are what is most important, and the big picture is just a disguise... What say you, Evermore?" She blinked and turned her head to the other girl. For a brief moment, her indigo eyes seemed almost catlike in their shape... but it must have been a trick of the light, for in the next moment, they were normal once more.

By this point, Raven had realized that the girls were onto something. She quickly flitted over to land on the back of the chair Ever was sitting on and looked down at the books in question.

Ever, meanwhile, was absorbing what Aurora had to say and reading over the passages in the books again, trying to focus on the little details this time. "You know, I think you might be onto something."

She pointed to a passage in the book on the armrest to her left. "In this book, it details what wood the archer's house was made of. I thought that was really odd how the author focused on that but not on the future of the archer or where the house went."

Aurora nodded. "If it was detailed the type of material, there was something important of it. Think of it like a book no one should truly like: the Scarlet Letter. Everything that takes more than one sentence to describe has more meaning than what one interprets from face value." She trailed her hand down the page. "This archer... Her name is never mentioned, is it? Do you think it may not be her or her story that is important, but more of what she has left behind?"

The shapeshifter paced a few steps away. "...We should write the silly details, those which do not make sense, down so we might make sense of them," she decided.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:23 pm

Ever immediately nodded and pulled that book closer to her. She was actually getting kind of excited about this!

"Okay! You do the writing and I'll do the reading outloud since I kind of know what to look for, having read these passages before."

She skimmed over the story and found the part about the wood used to build the archer's house.

"And the sturdy branches of the weeping willow were sacrificed to provide superior protection for the archer. One might not think that a sorrowful tree would be strong and sturdy, but it is one of the sturdiest and strongest trees there is. It can even withstand gale-force winds and gallons-upon-gallons of water for a sustained period of time. It has even been rumored that if pushed too far, a weeping willow will fight back against its attacker."

Aurora wrote shorthand, using only key words. After Evermore's final statement, she added to the end of her notes: Whomping Willow? It sounded very similar, if one were to ask her; however, the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter would attack without provocation (unless territory invasion counted for trees nowadays) and this description... Not so much.

Aurora tapped the pen against her lips. "Water, Evermore. The lake must be tied to this Willow." She wasn't sure how, but it must.
