Shagatsu walked past Tohru after she had finished her speech and patted Haruki on the back, giving him a silent Good luck! He crept silently down the steps and began the long, dark path to his waterfall.

Haruki stood amazed at Tohru's outburst. He narrowed his eyes, his own rage coming out.
"Did you not listen to a word I just said? Tohru, I love you! I care about you! Your Mother misses you badly! Are you willing to throw all this away to entertain men every night like this?"

Tohru walked forward and slapped him before saying angrily, "You know nothing! You are completely misjudging us! I am an artisan, not some silly whore entertaining men! I learned how to dance from geisha like my big sister! How dare you come in and judge us! You know nothing, Haruki, and I want nothing to do with an ignorant and base pig like you!"

Haruki rubbed his cheek and narrowed his eyes. He couldn't believe this was happening - this was not what he had come to do...this was not the way he had planned.
And now...now he was a base, ignorant pig who had been slapped by the girl he loved.
Not wanting to lose anymore of his pride, he only bowed to Tohru and left quietly.

Tohru took a deep breath as she felt tears forming in her eyes watching him leave. She suddenly wished she could take away the words...but there was no way now.
'Haruki...I miss Mother...and...and if I had never come here, I'm sure you would've made a wonderful husband...but my life is here...my dreams are here...I wish you could've understood...'
Tohru slowly wiped her tears and took a deep breath. She gained her composure and walked back in, smiling at her sisters with all the strength she could muster. "Haruki-san had to leave. Would anyone like more tea?"

Tora's face fell as she saw Tohru enter the tea house. "Something went terribly wrong," she thought. "Tohru-chan?" she asked conserned.

"Everything is fine, Onee-sama. It just seems that things were not as they seemed," Tohru said pouring the tea for Tora.

Kaida looked at Tora, then to Tohru, and back at Tora. She noticed Tora's face and her heart fell. "Uh-oh..." she thought with a frown.

"Onee-sama, may I please be excused from the teahouse for a little while? I'm afraid I'm feeling a little sick," Tohru asked softly, wanting to go and think for a little while.

"What? Tohru-chan... what happened?" she asked. Tora saw the look on her sister's face and nodded. "Sure sweetheart," she smiled, understandingly. "We'll talk later."

Tohru bowed to everyone and walked out quietly, taking a deep and shakey breath. She didn't know where she'd go, but she needed to get away.

Kaida watched her go. She touched Tora's arm lightly and said, "I'll go talk to her." Kaida stood and followed.

"Thank you, Kaida-chan," Tora smiled. She knew all too well how love could be a trying thing. Tora hopped Tohru could get passed her past.

"She's in the cherry blossom garden now." Kaida looked into her tea cup and sighed. She looked up at Tora and smiled. "It's so peaceful there," Kaida said. "You did an amazing job on the place," she boasted.
