MY IRONING IS DONE FOR THE NEXT THREE DAYS, HUZZAH.
Pressing chef coats is... not easy. Especially when you've never ironed before in your life. (I remember my ma hating ironing when I was little, and we never much owned anything that NEEDED ironing [praise be to the invention of permanent press] so she never taught me, I used logic and the internet to figure it all out. >>; ) But when your beau works in a nice restaurant as a sous chef, pressed coats are a must.
He thinks maybe when he gets his new coats to go with his new position, they'll get sent off to be professionally cleaned and pressed and delivered back to the restaurant (and gonna be kinda peeved in that case, we already bought an ironing board, and while we certainly needed one in the interim until his new coats come in, if we don't NEED one long term, I doubt we'd have gotten the one we did, it's a NICE ironing board, y'know? So it came with a heavier price tag than the cheap, shoddier ones).
...Though it admittedly feels kinda nice that no one has said anything about my pressing job, 'cause that means it stands up next to the pros' work. |

I have a huge thing for cinemagraphs, especially ones involving coffee or tea.
Heh, it's flattering you have such faith in me, to be honest~
The worst part about pressing chef coats is the button panels, to be honest (I finally had a small amount of success by ironing them from the back, but it's still a pain), and the sleeves are kind of jerks sometimes on long sleeved coats, they don't always want to lay flat, and trying to iron out a crease you accidentally ironed in? Pretty much an endeavor in futility, so better be darn sure to get it right the first time.
At least I don't have to iron the pants, too, just three coats eats up an enormous amount of time.
(To be honest, I think he feels weird that I'm doing all our laundry and ironing for him now, he's not used to having a real housewife to do all the chores.) |
