Jedi Sasquatch Yeah, I'm not too concerned about what society thinks. The weird part is when my friends start to notice this about me. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I would be less strange if I were a girl. Then again, I do think guns are awesome, so I guess I'm not completely female, lol. There are girls that like guns because they go "boom" or something. Mainly the ones that play COD at my high school xD and pwn the boys at it lol Dx At times I feel like being a girl in the past, just for justification of having sex with guys. Thanks grandma for letting me watch soap operas since I was 5 Dx

CleoSombra Jedi Sasquatch Little Miss Fortune Jedi Sasquatch Hey, I actually (kind of) have a secret that I can talk about. A lot of times I feel like I'm a girl trapped in a guy's body. It's not that I'm gay or whatever. I'm as straight as straight can be. But I possess a lot of the qualities that society views as feminine. In fact, we once took a quiz back in my psychology class to see how feminine or masculine you are, and I was all the way on the feminine side. Like, not even close to the fence. Not only that, but I've been noticing that in a lot of movies and video games I tend to relate more with the female characters than the male characters. Don't know why. Has anybody else ever felt like this?
Not exactly the same, but I definitely have a lot of stereotypically "masculine" traits along with "feminine" ones. Not many people fit exactly into society's narrow ideas of masculinity and femininity. It's best to disregard all of society's expectations and just be yourself ^^ <3333333Yeah, I'm not too concerned about what society thinks. The weird part is when my friends start to notice this about me. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I would be less strange if I were a girl. Then again, I do think guns are awesome, so I guess I'm not completely female, lol. Are you referring to the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) by any chance? Just as an aside. o3o I know this probably isn't what you mean, but I have to point it out 'cause, like, I have to. Having feminine traits does not make a person mentally the opposite gender. You can be a guy on the feminine side of the scale or a woman on the masculine side of the scale and still identify as your biological sex if you feel it feels right. People with Gender Identity Disorder (aka, transgenders) know from a very young age that something is horribly, horribly wrong. We're talking as young as 2 years old - they believe that they're going to grow up to be the opposite sex, that their genitals are disgusting, and that they're in the wrong bodies. It can get pretty specific - a boy in a girl's body might not feel comfortable sitting down to go to the bathroom and will insist on standing. At three years old. A girl in a boy's body might try to cut the p***s off. At six years old. So. . . << I just wanted to share that. Okay, that's definitely not what I am then. O.o I don't have gender confusion, I'm just aware that my femininity tends to outweigh my masculinity.

Cleo, how does it manifest when someone identifies as neither gender? Because I've thought that for a long time (not based on stereotypes at all though...just sort of...who I am), but didn't know there were "prerequisites"...

You make it sound like girls are ditzy, like "lololol, gun go boom-boom! Hehehehehe!!!" Girls can think guns are "awesome" for the same reasons that Jedi does, whatever those reasons happen to be.

Probably what I hate the most would be feeling or being ignored.
While talking to someone, honestly? I could say it flat out, but this person in particular I can imagine acknowledging it but then forgetting it a few minutes later. I'd probably even feel bad afterwards if I did say it, because this person is very "innocent", which makes me often do a double take and think that I'm the one in the wrong for such things.
Which I do for many things. If something has been bothering me and the person or problem finally gets confronted, I completely forget what the problem actually was and/or think that it was stupid and worthless, as all my problems often seem to be.
"...as all my problems often seem to be." *coughs*
Also, of course, there's the relationship problems. I have no friends or social life outside of the house, which makes me resort to finding them online. To clarify, the people that are my online friends I am glad to have.
I am much less tolerant and much more blunt and truthful during the past few months as I have been previously. Positive side of it: the "walked over" feeling has lessened. Negative: people's feelings are more subject to being hurt.
I also expect things from people, assuming they should have known to do this or not do that.
I do not love or hate the z!CB.
I miss Maris.
blah blah [edits in later, perhaps]

Because explosions are awesome (as long as nobody gets hurt)

LabTech Kestin Cleo, how does it manifest when someone identifies as neither gender? Because I've thought that for a long time (not based on stereotypes at all though...just sort of...who I am), but didn't know there were "prerequisites"... There isn't a disorder for that. o3o What the DSM (diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders) tries to do is look at disorders that are pervasive across all cultures. There are people who believe they were born as the wrong biological sex in almost every culture. Identification with a certain physical sex, therefore, is not cultural. Gender is. In our culture, we consider gender to be dichotomous - that there are two genders, male and female. A lot of people think that that definition is too general and some people prefer to think of gender as being on a continuum. Androgyny is what first comes to mind when reading your response. While information in Wikipedia should be taken with a grain of salt, it's a good starting point for further research. In order for something to be classified as a disorder, the most significant factor is whether or not it causes significant distress or impairment (and what wait) in a person's life. Just to reiterate - a significant part of GID has to do with rejection of one's biological sex and the desire to be the opposite sex (meaning it's not just about not feeling comfortable with one's body parts).

Because I've thought that for a long time (not based on stereotypes at all though...just sort of...who I am), but didn't know there were "prerequisites"... I don't know the psychology behind it, but having worked with a lot of gay rights groups and LGBT support groups, I've known a lot of people who identify as "Gender Queer." That is, they identify with neither gender, and instead just consider gender to be a spectrum, and take a bit from both ends of it. This often manifests itself in cross dressing, or guys wearing make up, but still identifying very much as their biological gender.
For choosing not to express any gender, the other term I've heard is either "Androgynous" or "Asexual."
In terms of preference, there's also "Pansexual," which is attraction regardless of gender, and often is also viewed as attraction to a lack of gender expression, such as with androgynous people.
Personally, though, I don't think you should worry so much about labeling yourself. You're just you, and there's no cultural phenomena or umbrella term that can encompass all that. Just know that whatever it is you feel about your gender, it's pretty normal. It could also change over time, and you have your whole life to figure it out.
