Could someone quick explain the Upgrades system to me when you get the chance? I unlocked an Upgrade recently and was curious as to how that works.

upgrades can only upgrade jutsu that are of a lower level... meaning you can't use a level 10 upgrade on a level 10 custom jutsu however you can use it to upgrade your level 5 jutsu... I think it brings it up to the equivalent of a level 10 jutsu rather then it being a level 5 jutsu forever.... if not that then it adds 10 lvls? but i'm pretty sure it's the first one XD;

Each upgrade, has a level max that it can upgrade like your first unlocked upgrade would be "Upgrade (Lv5 Max)"
This means this upgrade can only be used to upgrade a lvl5 technique or lower.
The next one would be a "Upgrade (Lv10 Max)" meaning it can upgrade any technique lvl10 or lower.
Your upgrade level is equivalent to 1/4 your int at the time of unlocking the upgrade, which is to say that at 20 int you get the lvl5 upgrade. 40 would be lvl10. ETC

So I'd have to use it on either a Basic or a Learned tech; since my first custom tech was lv 10 and not 5.
now does the Upgrade just bump up a tech 5 levels then?

OKAY, it is always +5 to the technique to be upgraded
but it can only apply to a jutsu of equal or lower level to the unlocked upgrade.
Kev: Well I suppose so, though your first unlocked custom jutsu slot is a level 5 so you should have a level 5 to upgrade (if you created one that is) if you wanted to I'm fairly certain

15 int = +1 lvl 5 custom jutsu
20int= the first upgrade which applies to any custom jutsu levels before this point, since you've only gotten one that means the first custom slot only lets you upgrade basic jutsu and level 5 jutsu. an upgrade can boost a jutsu by 5 levels which would make your level 5 jutsu be an effective level 10 rather then five... soooo you can currently upgrade your custom level 5 or any of your basic jutsu, the next upgrade will apply to any level 10 jutsu you have. and then it continues on in this manner XD;;

Also Kev, you really don't need that extra layout stuff.
all you need is a Name and Description of the basic jutsu
we leave the layouts for customs & normals.
But you can use the layout if you want to xd

Stepping in here.
@ava why are you not a mod?
@ the general question.
His case is a little diffrent because he chose the non blood line route. Which means that his first custom is a level 10 and as such i would imagine his upgrades would follow. Allow me to check on that, just gimme a sec.
