Nikiana smiled as Tali drew near and listened to what he said as he marked their candles. She nodded absentmindedly, then glanced about at the others as Tali asked who was going down first. No one else seemed to want to.

002 looked at the door, then at the others. Then the door. The others. The door... and so on for a few moments. Then, taking a deep breath, she quietly spoke up. "I'll go down first." She held her candle out to 001.

Glad someone was willing to go first Taliesin lit her candle with the stricker, quickly doing to the same to the Parmida's candle. "I'll see you guys in a hundred," Taliesin grinned. It should be nice and light down there by the time he had to go down.

"1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand...."

((>< I thought the candles hadn't been placed yet. The toddlers are going to have very sore toes if they try to hide...))

Manelin came very close to pouting. "Hey!" He protested, "Can't we all go down there first and place the candles?" He wanted Tali down there with him for his first time down there. Nevermind the fact that he had lots of candles on him, plus the small fire-starting kit he always carried with him! For all he liked his flames, he didn't think they would protect him from whatever monsters were already hiding down there...

Parmida looked at the lit candle in her hand for a moment before ghosting over to the door and silently opening it. She looked at the others with a 'What are you waiting for? He's counting.' look before stepping inside and waiting for someone to cross the doorway as well. Perhaps there was something for her to hide in instead of behind down there...

Edmund stared into the dark doorway, then up at Talisen. He was already counting! The toddler scuffled at the floor with his feet for a moment before his gaze swung over to Parmida. Well, she was going! Not really wanting to be outdone by a girl - even one who was a bunch older than him - the little boy began to walk towards the doorway. Upon reaching it, however, he peered inside, frightened.

((I suppose I did have Parmida as a teen in mind when I wrote that, but she should be a child during this... >> Right Tara? No one's a teen yet.))

Parmida hastily wiped a smirk from her face as she saw one of the toddlers peer through the doorway. She turned her head and held her candle out towards the darkness, lighting up the area. Manelin shuffled over to her and peered into the darkness. He slipped a candle out a pocket and reached it up towards Parmida's. Parmida automatically lowered it enough for Manelin to light his, and he rushed off into the darkness, his lit candle held out before him. Parmida blinked for a moment as she stared in Manelin's direction before smacking her free hand on her forehead. Soon, several more lights popped up, as Manelin took candles out of his pockets, lit them, and set them down gently, making sure they would stay upright before going on to the next. It wasn't very long before the area really started to light up, although Manelin was making sure to leave plenty of shadowy places to hide in.

((Door open, check. Candles placed, check. In basement yet, still working on it. I'll wait for someone else to post before I hide them.))

Niki placed her candle on an old table that she spotted, making sure that it was set decently before glancing around for a hiding spot. Faintly, she could hear Tali's voice calling out the numbers. Hazel eyes adjusted to the dim light from the few candles placed about and Niki found an old chair. Not a good place to hide.

She turned as the room grew brighter. Ah, the older looking toddler was placing more candles. Wait a minute... how did he get those candles? Blinking, 002 shrugged and turned to locate a good hiding spot. There. An old wardrobe in the corner.

Niki crossed to the wardrobe, opening it, then promptly sneezing at the dust stirred up by her actions. This was no good. Tali would look here. Then, an idea struck. She found the old chair again, making sure it was steady, then pulled it closer to the wardrobe, making it seem as if it had been there all along.

Then, 002 climbed up onto the chair and then onto the wardrobe. It had a slight depression on the top, but only one of about 5 or 6 inches. So, Niki flattened herself as much as possible, hoping that the dim light in that area and the fact that Tali wouldn't be suspecting anyone to hide on the wardrobe would hide her.

Selma wandered down from upstairs and saw Tali counting in the hallway near the entrance to the basement. Figuring the game of hide and seek had already begun, she decided she'd sit out until the next round, if there was another round. She sat down on a chair near where Tali was counting and silently waited for him to finish.

Edmund breathed a sigh of relief once the basement was lit up, pushing a lock of dark hair out of his eyes. He watched the other children move off, and then trundled down the stairs himelf, glancing over his shoulder at the receeding doorway. Once at the bottom, he glanced around. Now. Where should he hide? He was lucky that he was little, there would be more places where he could fit.

Taking his time to look around, the toddler noticed several old trunks lined up against one wall, in a slightly darker corner. He took a deep breath, and then moved in that direction. Upon reaching them, he noticed that they hadn't been opened for a while. Dust had settled on them, and the hinges creaked in protest when he tried to open them. Resettling the lid cautiously, the little toddler noticed that most of the dust had been displaced, which made it look really obvious. He went over to the other two trunks, opening their lids as well. There. Now it looked like maybe someone had looked through all three? Or that no-one had disturbed any of them. That being done, he took another look through the three of them. There were pokey metal things in the first, which didn't look fun to lie on for any amount of time. The second one was filled with old books, which wouldn't give him anywhere to hide. But the third! The third was filled with a bunch of white robes. Edmund smiled, carefully climbing over the edge and into the box, holding the lid open with his hand. He settled himself among them, pushing back on the lid to make sure he could open it again if he needed to. Curling up a ball, he hoped that the robes looked normal enough.

Susan has just arrived at the school it is its first day and you see a boy very tall counting and she comes closer to him crawling, when she arrives to their feet she sits down to wait that him finishes counting.

Taliesin wasn't quite surprised when Selma wandered in. Though he was surprised when he saw the white robe she was wearing, one that showed the curves she was starting to get. For a moment, he stumbled over his counting and felt his face heat up. Almost shyly he waved at the girl.

He was even more surprised when a toddler came up to him. Blinking he waved at the young girl. He had thought he knew all of the children in the tower, but he'd never seen this toddler before. Strange.

Taliesin simply melted at the toddler. He continued counting quietly as he held his arms out to the toddler, silently asking if he could pick her up.

Susan stretches its small arms so that Talin catches her, and she asks him.

Selma smiled and waved back at Tali, before noticing the approaching toddler. She looked at the girl curiously and giggled a little behind her hand when the girl spoke with the appoximate pronnounciations of a toddler.
