Light and darkness? i guess it would be replaced in life and death but, I honestly don't see a point to these, they are just for people who use magic, aren't they. He thought to himself still trying to pay attention his thoughts somewhat wandering off.

Everyone: "Now, everything in nature contains mana of a specific color, but, an interesting thing you should note is that objects that have been heavily processed by people and removed from their original state of being can end up losing their mana and turn into something we refer to as an 'Artifact.' This phenomenon is the main reason why most technologically advanced universes do not have magic in them, though there can be other factors." The Mentor continues on teaching, taking only a few quick breaks from speaking in order to write something down and let students do the same. "Once we begin the practical section of the class, the first skill we will focus on is drawing mana from various objects and places, but first off, I'll discuss the basic concepts behind the act. The most important thing one must become aware of in order to do this is to first realize that all living beings also contain and produce mana. Just as all living being are physically a complex mass of multiple chemicals, all living being are also a mixture of all kinds of mana. Every person will have a specific color that they end up having a rather strong affinity for; this is determined mainly be personality type and can give a person some strange latent abilities even before they realize how to control them. A person with an affinity for yellow mana might have the inexplicable ability to read emotions and detect sounds or movements simply by feeling the wind around them, or a person with an affinity for black mana could have an uncanny ability to create and unravel complex and deceptive lies or otherwise be able to utilize lack in advantageous ways that others are unable to realize. Et cetera, et cetera. " The Mentor pauses there and once again checks everyone's faces to see their reactions.

I draw a diagram with of these various mana types, in a somewhat 3 dimensional fashion, with the 4 classical elements in a ring, with light above and dark below it. I end up concluding the I'm probably more affliated with light, condisering the majority of my abilities utilizes it, but if yellow deals woth empathy, then it's also quite possibly a viable one. Back in Tyria, water is also a healing element, yet another opton. crious that Neeche seems to know something of this system already though...

Everyone: The Mentor draws something on the board that looks like a simplified silhouette of a person. Inside the silhouette, he draws a diagram similar to a circulatory system. "The mana in our bodies constantly flows around inside of us on a specific path, shown in this diagram. Through a bit of training, it can become very easy to control the way it does so , allowing you to speed up or stop the flow, or even remove the mana from your body in order to manifest it as magic, though using your own internal mana as fuel for spells can have some very unpleasant side effects... so instead, that is why we will learn how to extract mana from other objects instead. In order to do this, one must utilize a very commonplace force: gravity. It may surprise some of you to learn that mana acts in ways very similar to matter and can thus be controlled and explained using the same forces and rules. However, the ways in which each particular force effects mana can have significant differences from how that same force effects matter. In this instance, gravity has a much stronger effect on mana. Simply by manipulate the flow of mana throughout your body to cause all of your mana of a specific color to gather at a single part of your body, such as your hand, you can produce enough force to extract other mana of that same color from nearby, inanimate objects. Is everyone still following so far?" The Mentor says.

He just nodded, anything that could train him to use in being stealthy or in a fighting situation always seemed to interest him.

Everyone: Receiving no questions, the mentor continues his spiel. "Once you have extracted the mana from an object comes the important step, using the mana to affect the physical world through the use of magic. Those of you who are mages will find this just as easy as whatever magic system you are accustomed to, but those who have never practiced anything such as this could have some trouble at first. It's hard to put into words just how magic works, but with practice, even those that come from universes where magic is impossible can eventually learn the skill as long as they have the right mindset and are willing to practice. Speaking of which, I'd like to end the lecture section of today's class. Teaching you all the details would be pointless until you get the basics down. So now we will be going outside for some practical exercises." He says and then gets to work on erasing the boards he wrote on.

He sighed and looked at his wrist, he wondered if he could really even manipulate this Mana the mentor talked about.

Krin: You notice Ore-ore also sigh nervously. "wow... I'm not sure I can really do something like this..." she mutters.
Everyone: After finishing erasing, the Mentor begins walking towards the doors. "Well, let's get going everyone, no need to be nervous." he says. In response, the other students start getting out of their seats and walking towards the doors as well.

Everyone: The Mentor leads the class outside and around to the back of the building where a sort of firing range is set up. At the far end are a variety of targets and dummies set up, and at the other end nearer to the building, there are a variety of various things set up, notably: a multitude of cushions to sit on, plenty of cups filled with some sort of hot beverage, presumably a tea of sorts, a few various herbs, and also some strange stones none of you recognize. Once everyone makes it back to this area, The Mentor speaks up. "Here is where we will be spending the remainder of our time. We will be focusing on the techniques I just discussed. To start off, we will utilize some basic group meditation methods to help everyone here get used to recognizing and manipulating the flow of mana throughout their bodies. For this exercise I have prepared a meditation mat and a cup of special tea for everyone. In addition to providing a physically relaxing environment, these items have special properties that will help you in terms of self awareness. So, Everyone please grab a cup of the tea and sit down cross-legged on one of the mats."
