Maria brought back the drinks. "Do you still need a few minutes?"
"Yes. Thank you." Dante said contently.
"I'll be back in a few." Maria was very cheerful. She was trying to earn her tip tonight.
"You know, you can tell a lot by looking in someone's eyes. Did you know that?" Dante said as he took a drink. "So tell me. Is there a reason why you're shy or no?"

Aria smiled and looked forward as they walked.
"A movie sounds good. What's your favorite genre? I happen to be an action, comedy, horror, romance fan."
She made a face and held up a peace sign.

Daren grinned and laughed, his laugh sounding not at all forced. He was actually having a good time with her. He smiled before replying to her question. "Comedy sounds good, or maybe an action. I'm not really into that gooey type of thing. Blah." He made his own face, sticking out his tongue, and added, blushing, "Only with my girlfriend, I guess." He said in his head, If I even had one.

Dante watched as she just ran away. "Wow. What do I keep doing wrong?" he asked himself. The waitress came back.
"Where did your lady friend go?" Maria asked.
"She ran to the bathroom crying. Why? I really do not know." Dante said as he looked at her.
"Hmmm....shall I go see what's wrong? I know you would but you can't go in the ladies room." Maria asked.
"Here take this and give it to her." Dante said as he wrote on the napkin.
I'm sorry once again. Can you at least tell me what I'm doing wrong? Maybe talk about how you feel. We can leave if it would make it better
Dante handed Maria the napkin and a hundred dollar bill. "I'll be right back." Maria said. She went in the restroom and slid the note under the door to Victoria. "He seems like a nice guy, so why spend the night in here?" Maria asked but left before she could get an answer. She went back to Dante and told him that it was done.

Victoria, after a few minutes of bawling, and then just sitting there feeling sorry for herself, heard paper sliding on the floor and almost screamed. And then she heard a voice. It sounded strangely familiar like...Maria? She got up off the toilet seat and heard the end of the question also, a bit louder this time. She took a deep breath and went over, seeing that it was paper, but a napkin. With ink on it..a form of writing. A note, maybe? She picked it up and peeked out the door, but quickly shut it again, not wanting to be seen. She read the pen writing and sighed. Nothing could make her feel better. She could tell he was at least trying, and that made her smile. She wanted to hug him right then, but the thought made her turn red. Why? She thought angrily, pinching her cheeks. Quit it! She wanted to scream at herself. Be more bold! And so, with that thought in her mind, she stalked out of the bathroom, and went directly back to their table.
Smiling warmly at Dante, she shook her head. "There is nothing wrong with you, or this place. It's just..my childhood didn't go easy, and I don't really like thinking about my family. I promise it wasn't something you said. It's just.." She stopped there, sighing, but the tears didn't come. She must of cried herself out already. Remembering her session earlier, she quickly wiped her eyes with the end of her dress, feeling like a slob. Luckily she didn't blush this time. Still a little red in the cheeks from her pinching, she sat quietly in the seat, debating on if she should tell him or not.

"Just what?" he asked. He cared. He wanted to know. He wanted to try and make things better, even though the pain had already been dealt. He could try and take some away.
Maria came and stopped at the table. "I took the pleasure of getting you to the special tonight. It's a creamy pasta and sauce, with chicken on the side. It's delicious trust me. The boss got a little worried after no orders came from a table that was being used." Maria chuckled a little bit. "Send him my apologies, will ya?" Dante said and Maria nodded. She left and he turned his attention back to Victoria.

Victoria watched Maria walk away and made sure she was out of ear shot before saying quietly. "It's just..my mom died when I was just a child and my dad left me right after and.." She could feel herself getting ready to cry, but somehow she pushed tears down, burying them deep down inside of her. "I'm an orphan." She finished it softly, not wanting to get into details of her past. Dante was new to her. As they went along, she knew she would tell him more out of trust.

Dante was shocked, but he didn't show it. He didn't want to make her feel any worse than she already did. "How are you getting by? Just the job at the jewelers?" He was a little concerned. He couldn't see how anyone around his age could survive on their own. It also explains why she said she didn't go to school.

Aria smiled deviously.
"Alright....Romance it is! Why? Cause I feel like torturing someone and you happen to be the lucky candidate."
She laughed and hoped that Daren wouldn't think she was too weird.

Daren grinned at her and shook his head, pretending to hold his stomach in pain. "Oh, no! I'm going to see a romance movie! Kill me now!" He couldn't wait, actually. It wouldn't be too bad seeing a movie like that, especially with someone like Aria. He watched her as he continued walking on the sidewalk.
Victoria frowned, hating the concern in his voice. "Dante, I'm fine, really." She could feel the tremble in her voice, and she was sure he thought she was lying. She sighed, and glanced around, wondering where Maria was. She wanted someone to come and talk to interrupt him.

"Well only you would know." he said as his stomach grumbled. A few minutes passed of him not saying anything, before Maria showed up with the plates. "Here you two go. The pasta is the best part I think. Anything else that I can you two?" she said looking at the both of them. "I think we're fine Maria. Unless Victoria wanted something." Dante said as he salted his food. It smelled delicious. He was starving.

Victoria smiled at Maria knowingly and shook her head politely. Glancing down at her plate, she mumbled, "Thank you, I'm fine." She watched her walk away, again with the jealously awakening in her. She started eating slowly, watching Dante a few times before staring at the table, her fork in her hand.

"Oh I know, it must be so painful. I'm gonna make sure it's extra mushy too."
Aria laughed and wiped away a few stray tears. This was the first time she'd laughed with someone who wasn't in her close knit group of friends. It was actually pretty nice to talk to someone else and things with Dante weren't too rocky anymore.
Things are looking up. she thought as she glanced at Daren.

Daren caught the thoughtful look on her face and he smiled at her silently, before glancing up at the sky. It was almost dark, with a few stars coming out here and there, and the moon was already bright against the night, casting off an eery glow amongst the streets. The shop signs were lit up, and the restaurants were glowing brighter than ever. They slowly made it to the movies, and Daren hoped it wasn't too late for the movie Aria had in mind. He nudged her and ran a hand through his hair nervously. "Hey, you think they'll be showing the movie around this time? Or one might have already started.." He glanced away from her and up the street, where the theater could be seen now.

Dante took a bite of the food. Maria wasn't lying about the taste. He started to eat a little fast because it was delicious, but he slowed down. "Sorry got a little carried away there I guess." he said as he wiped his mouth. He looked around and saw that practically everyone had alcohol of some sort, and the urges came. He took a drink of water. "So," he said picking up his fork, "what do like to do in your free time?" He took a bite of the chicken.
