He grinned. Ooooh, she did not know what she'd just done. He liked this very much. Probably too much, to be honest. "Of course Mt Olympus is more interesting, typically. But this lake... I know what's there, and it's more entertaining than that old pile of rocks." He stood and turned so he was facing her, around the chair so that it did not rest in between them.* "This lake, Evermore, holds high importance. I think it would be much nicer for you to figure it out for yourself, and find out why you're here. So, please, continue." He waved a hand leisurely towards the desk and the book.
((*that sentence is ew. I'm sorry for saying this... but ew. I do not like that sentence right now. It just--I don't know. Also: Dinner. be right back.))

{{Nah! I get it. I probably would have written it the same way.}}
Ever tilted her head and arched an eyebrow at the God of War. Ever herself was tall at 6.0, but Ares was, of course, quite taller. It would put a kink in her neck if she had to look up at him too long.
"Old pile of rocks indeed...."
She shook her head, still smirking, and then looked over at the tome on the desk. "You know, if you're going to be here to watch me read for some unknown reason, why don't you just help me get through the book?"

Ares lifted a hand, pointing his finger, and shook it. "Ah, but that's not my task, is it? I'd much rather just watch you read than actually participate."

Ever jerked her head back quickly in complete confusion. For once, she did not look at Ares with malice in her gaze, just complete confusion.
"What?! How the hell does watching me read entertain you at all?!"
And then, right after she had said it out loud, almost as if speaking it made her realize what it was, Ever's eyes widened like saucers and she began to shake her head.
"No.... NO! You sick.... You have GOT to be kidding me!" She scoffed, still shaking her head, and started walking quickly back to the Headmistress's desk. She wasn't even going over there to read the book more. She was just walking.

"Oh?" he asked. "'You sick'... what? What am I, Evermore? I kid you not."

Ever chuckled sarcastically and shook her head. "Oh, you want ME to tell YOU something? Gee, I wonder why I would have a problem with that!"

He chuckled. She was finally understanding that game. "Touche," he said, tilting his head in a half-nod to her.

Wow. For once, she felt like she had the upper hand with Ares... Ok ok, she at least felt like she was on a level playing field with him. And that's when she made her first mistake. One should never assume that they're on a level playing field with a God. Ever smirked and sat on the edge of the large desk. She crossed her legs, forgetting that she was in a skirt. Luckily she had been conditioned in Bai Ching to naturally cross her legs. So she revealed nothing except her long, fit legs. She also crossed her arms over her chest. "Well at least you admit that for once, you do not have the upper hand over me."

Suddenly, Ares was very close. He stood right there, all up in her personal space and enjoying it. She had very beautiful legs, he noticed--nice and long. "Is that so?" he murmured, the traces of a smirk visible in his lips.

Ever arched her eyebrow at Ares and then moved her hands in a square formation around herself.
"Ares, personal space. Right here."
She leaned back and reached for the big tome she had been reading out of. She pulled it toward her and set it on her lap.

He just leaned in closer, undeterred. One hand moved to the desk next to her. "And what gives you the impression that I care?"

{{LOL!! That was brilliant, what he said!}}
Ever arched her eyebrow at Ares and looked down at his hand that was on the desk next to her and then looked back up at him.
"Oh don't worry, Ares. I have never had the impression that you care... about anything."

He ignored her glance, grinning. "Good, good. Then you might actually be using that head of yours." He didn't care if she knew that he found himself being attracted to her; she probably wouldn't make much of anything out of it. He was attracted to a lot of woment.
She didn't need to know that she was different.
((I edited this post after I made it because I realized I could have made it much longer... but now my sister's kicking me off with force, so I have to cut it short.))

Ever raised her leg and rested her foot on Ares's chest. "And, I'm afraid you might be thinking with your head, too."
She arched her eyebrow at Ares so that he knew she did not mean his brain.

Both of Ares' eyebrows raised at her actions. He smirked at her. "Really now?" It was a rhetorical question. "What makes you think that?" He did not move. He rather liked this view. It was much more... seductive? No, that was not her intention. But it was definitely more to his benefit, he thought, than before.
