Sayuri's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"A party sounds just delightful, don't you think so?" Sayuri questioned, looking towards the nearby geisha and maiko in the room. "I have not been to one seen I was apprenticed by Kyoku-san. I am sure she is even more fun at a party, than she deems herself outside of one."

"We are in need of a good party!" Kyoku agreed nodding her delicate head. "I must say, you give me far more credit then i deserve imouto-chan"

*stopping to the side of the sandy road and holding his travelling stap in his right hand, Jusu looks at the teahouse from a distance and after a while of thinking he decides to go take a look if there would be someone there, as it has been three months since he communicated with people*

((OOC: There are not enough active geisha in the guild, Onee-chan!!! (kairisesshy) I fear that I will have to become a geisha to accompany the onslaught of maiko coming into the guild. ^^ I know you won't terribly mind, but we will still be good friends. I'll go ahead and change my profile to accompany this and I will be moving the Kanenokikyou Okiya. We can hold a ceremony, for anyone who would like it. It's just something that needs to be done, since the guild is growing so wonderfully!
I'm really happy about the rise in new maiko!

Just a reminder to patron, fees will begin November 1st. So, begin signing up for missions now, to help pay for things.
30,000 yen a month goes to the Teahouse, whether you visit it or not. It costs a little bit more to begin having parties in the teahouse, but they are so fun. Please sign up for one. The sign-up thread is in the normal threads.
Our guild mule should be getting its confirmation letter anytime now to accept all donations!))

Sayuri glanced towards the door as a new visitor came in. "Ahh...welcome to our little teahouse. I do hope you will sit down with us and have a drink. I am sure you are wearied from your travels."

Sayuri motioned for a maid/waitress to bring sake for the new traveler. It would warm him and he would hopefully open up to their graceful company.

"Excuse me," a voice obviously female but also that of one with a sore, parched throat, looking up and seeing her makes you frown as you don't remeber seeing her enter but then again it could just be that she was beneath notice. A close look reveals a girl that would be stunningly beautiful if one took the time to wash away what appears to be at least 2 weeks of dirt and grime from her face and clothes, her cloths look rumpled, torn, and like she had slept in them but her eyes say other wise dark and sunken as if she hadn't sleep in a fortnight. Her sandals are falling apart and in need of replacing, and on her back she is carrying a duffel bag.

She wobbles a little and uses a hand to steady herself before continuing "I'm a new geisha, I was told to come here first and to get directions to my new home." Her sentance ends with what appears to be a crackle, as if it's taking everything she has left just to get thru what she has to. "I can pay....." her voice wanders as she pulls out a handful of coins which she places on the counter in front of her as the duffel hits the floor with a thud. Seconds later the coins are on the floor as exhaustion finally wins out over thirst, hunger, and fear and she slumps onto the counter and then the floor her hand dragging some of the coins down on top of her.

*She can see he is an outlander as he is wearing a big T-shirt, shorts and white although somewhat worn running sneakers, along with his backpack and stap. as Jusu sees the place is populated there is a glance of relief in his eyes and as the geisha speaks to him he does nothing than slowly nods, but as he attempts to walk in, his legs go weak from the sudden rush of relaxation as he finally can give peace for struggling, making him collapse onto the floor and almost pass out*

Sayuri rushed to first aid the new girl to an empty inn room, then beckoned for the maids to help the new patron stranger into one of the other empty inn rooms that sat in the teahouse.

"You should really get some rest," Sayuri said to the strange man. "I'm sure that once you a rested, you will have more fun here."

Sayuri bowed before leaving the room to attend to the other girl. "You look like you've been through a lot." Sayuri poured the pitcher of water into a basin and wrung out a rag so that she could help clean up the newcomer's face. "We can't have a new maiko coming into our teahouse looking like you do, dear. I'll clean your face and the maids are already getting water warmed up for you to take a bath in."

Sayuri motioned towards the wooden tub in the middle of the room. There was a screen off to the side.

"Now, just clean yourself up a bit and I have already sent word to your okiya mother. She will probably send you a kimono from the okiya and maybe even make-up that we may clean you up with a bit. I must apologize now, because there are patron that need to be attended to in the teahouse. Please make yourself at home. No one will disturb you."

A few moments later, the maids came in with the warm water that they poured into the tub. They had also brought a kimono and the make-up needed for the maiko to dress herself properly. Though her hair would not be in a traditional style, the maids would try and help her style it more appropriately, for the time being.

Sayuri returned back to the main teahouse room.

"Sorry that my absence was extended. The days at this teahouse are never dull, though."

*Just sitting there, looking at Sayuri leave, Jusu looks confused for a moment as it all seems to happen too fast for him before he gets the idea, then finally he slowly stands back up and starts undressing himself while walking towards the tub. After setting his clothes and his glasses to the side, he gently sits down into the warm tub, his eyes closing and a soft sigh escaping from his lips as the warm sensation devours him, immediately taking some water into his hands and washing his face, and on his chest there are some bruises and small cuts from the past travels he had done*

((I can see I'm going to have to dig into my bag of tricks, as I'm dealing with mostly Literate RPers, something I'm not used to doing anymore stare , "Oh, this is going to be good." to quote a recent movie character.))

After sleeping a couple of hours Himeko awoke with a start and a bit of a headache, her head having "made friends" with the counter before saying "hi" to the floor.
whee

Surprised at her surroundings, she's happy to find that her bag is by the door and the money that was spilled (sp?) has been coolected and is sitting in a neat pile on a small table. Seeing the bath tub and the water still steaming (the maids checked and made sure the water was still hot every so often added scalding water to raise the tempture if nesscary), she disrobes and folds her dirty traveling clothes, before sliding into the water to bathe. A glance to one side reveals a hand-mirror in a small fold up table attached to the otherside of the tub, upon seeing her face cleaned of the vast majority of the dirt, she's a bit surprised.

After the bath, still tired for a couple hours is not enough for over a week of no sleep and even more so when combined with exhasution, she notices that there is make-up and a full kimono for her to dress herself approritely (sp?) as a maiko. Almost on cue a couple of maids come in to help her with her make-up, and remind her gently that a maiko's kimono collar hangs to mid back not up by the neck and the obi is not folded length-wise at all, as Himeko was going on auto-pilot in putting on her kimono. They even helped with her hair, no quite right for a maiko but ok for now she looks in the mirror again and is happy to notice that her make-up hides the sunken and bags under her eyes so she doesn't look like she's missed to much sleep and is presentable to go to work, if it is only for a few hours, as she still has much sleep deprevation to deal with.

Himeko, follows the maids out and into the main tea room, where everyone is gathered at the moment.

Sayuri notices the strange maiko's transformation as magic. Every time that she had seen herself in the morning without make-up always made Sayuri feel more beautiful with the white foundation on. The white make-up conformed to the curves of each maiko and geisha's face, revealing their beautiful structures. Sayuri sighed in approval.

"That is much better..." Sayuri cooed, her lips curving into a smile with no teeth showing. "Are you parched at all, Miss?"

No sooner were the words off Sayuri's lips, the waitress swooped over the group with a new place setting and cup. Sayuri dutifully poured the maiko a glass of tea.

"Come now, you must be tired from your journey. You may come here and have some tea to warm you up before you find your new okiya. Now, you must tell us all about yourself, since we are all able to tell that you are from an exotic land."

Serena walked over to where Sayuri was and listened to her talking to the new maiko.

*walking back into the tea house Maromi looked around, watching people conversing, tea being served and wondered if there was anything she could do to help. Not wanting to offend anyone, and not knowing what to do, she kneeled at one of the tables and smiled half heartly, looking about and fiddling with a ring on her finger, as her hands lay in her lap and ran her tongue gently over the bright red lip paint on her usually pale rosey lips *

As Himeko entered the room and made her way to a seat beside Sayuri, it was obvious to the other maiko and the geisha present that Himeko was not used to moving in the resticted movement of her kimono. As she lowered herself into the only kneeling/sitting position that a kimono allows at the traditional short tables, she smiled grace-ishly (sp?) as she lifted the glass with both hands and turned it into the proper position and then took a careful sip, so not to guzzle the drink down all at once. "domo arigatou gosamashita, I've need a small drink for a while now."

"As for where I'm from, I'm from right here in Japan. My parents did flee a land far away when their little village of a few thousand was attacked by a State that had an army of over a million soldiers, some 30 years ago. I'm told that where the village was located was part of the home of an enemy of their's from the birth of their nation, and that their propagnda machine branded anyone that lived in that huge area a subversive non-human, evil that only lived to destroy them and their way of life." She pauses and takes a another sip a bit longer then the first one.

"My parents only 5 or 6 at the time fled into the surrounding wilderness, a few days later came across an a feild of dead and dying soldiers from the agressor (sp) nation, where my father claims to have flown into a rage and used a rock to crush the enemy commander's head. But he only talked about that once, the only time I'd ever seen him drunk. But this is not a place for stories like that is it?" She smiled, the kind of smile that is forced when remebering something bad, like a mom having to tell a 4 year old that daddy's going away on a long trip, because the child doesn't understand death yet.

"After that, they took what they could from the battlefeild; weapons, armor, transportation, food, money, maps, etc.. They then headed north to one of the freindly nations that was taking in survivors, but none came to fight for 2 reasons the village was already gone and the nations that took in refugees were small in comparison none could hope to win a war with the agreessor nation, the CS. There they used what they had to grow and then they headed west unable to bear staying where they had seen entire families killed by CS troops. redface Oops I did it again. sweatdrop On the west coast they traded thier land ride for a medium sized boat some charts, and training and took off for lands unknown. They told me that I was born as they entered the waters between Honshu and Skikoku. The Republic accepted us right away so Japan is the only life I've known."

She blushed "Oh listen to me going on, about my parents, but I've heard it said 'To know where one comes from don't look to him or her, look to their parents and their parents' parents.'" Himeko then takes another sip and continues "my parents wanted me to learn about the customs of Japan because Japan became home not some distance village that no longer exists but in memory, so was enrolled in schools to learn not just the basics but Ikebana, calligraphy, and Go, and I'm hoping to learn the tea cermony, so I guess I'm not much different then you in terms of where home is just where my parents came from to call this home." She then takes another sip of tea and shifts her weight alittle not used to this sitting/kneeling position for extended periods.

Nitta listened to Himeko's story from across the room, then drifted over and gracefully knelt beside Serena.

"Wow.... your parents were very strong individuals, Himeko-chan! We are grateful to be able to welcome you here!" Nitta gave her a slight bow and then pulled out a small folding fan and began to fan herself with it.
