Shadow hates cloud becuase they treat cloud like he is better than Seph. and he's not even in the same league. that and Shadow REALLY hated the one shot insta win at the end of FF7 where you FINALLY got to a point where it was just Cloud and Seph one on one.
Advent children: the ONLY reason cloud lives is becuase sephiroth LETS him live. that sword could have easily been six inches to the right and dead Cloud. but Seph prefers a tormented, beaten, broken cloud that can be reused and abused then a corpse.
And then that big finisher cloud used...grrrr...the whole movie they show that sword. it has ONE blade in it. that littel one. then at the end it has all of the sudden like 7 in it. they just had to give cloud some super edge becuase we all know that all things being even remotely even, Cloud loses.
oh, P.S.
during the fight sequence, Cloud actually tries Omni-slash. and Seph blocks EVERY shot of it. Clouds best move, and seph stops him. that's enough right there for me to think Cloud's the FF version of Parn from Lodoss war.

Sephiroth has more fans than Cloud does.
Cloud wins.
Its writen clearly in the script they used in both FFVII, and AC.
((I like niether at the moment. They are both cardboard and uninteresting.))

((Actually, I'd Like to clarify that: Cloud and Sephiroth have spawned a rather large following of copycats and mimickers that have caused them to lose whatever it was that made them attractive. In becoming 'sort of' archetypes, they have lowered the worth of themselves to any creative value they may have once held.))

Really, people should read some nice old fashion fantasy to get a better understanding of the subtly of magic and its various uses.
Its like the only non-offensive source of spellcasting is Harry Potter.

Harry Potter isn't about the all out magic battle really. And there's words and wands involved.
Then again HP just really kind of doesn't compute with me for whatever reason.

I point a stick, say a word and BAM, your head turns into ashes.
What's there to be confused about?
