Ike waved to Maddy from Mantine's speedy back. He looked ahead to see a well-known landmark of the region, Celebi still flying high over head.
"Looks like the Battle Frontier." Ike yelled out to Maddy and everyone. What what attract Celebi to the Battle Frontier Ike wondered.

"Again? Didn't we have trouble with this place LAST TIME we went there?" Cody asked. He really couldn't afford anymore of his pokomen becoming shadow...

"We didn't go to the Battle Frontier in Hoenn, Cody." Ginji looked at the boy awkwardly as Dragonite dove down towards the water. "We went to the Battle Park in Sinnoh."

As the team reached the Island, Ike jumped off Mantine and on to the pier, recalling his partner. He looked up to see the whole island decked out as if it were holding a festival. The sounds of the roaring crowd, though, didn't sound very festive. They sounded panicked.
"What's going on?" Ike asked Celebi as if floated down to him. Celebi only frowned.
"Well, thanks for leading us here." said Ike, recalling Celebi for safety. He waited for the rest of the team to collect on the pier.

"Oh... Wow... I feel stupid..." Cody sighed. "I have to go," he said as he checked his watch. Feraligatr turned around and surfed back toward home.

"Okay?" Ginji tilted his head as he landed on the Pier. Dragonite's eyes looking around to all the scared citizens. "That's enough out of you." Ginji said as he recalled Dragonite to its Pokeball, not knowing what the Dragon might have been thinking.

Maddy recalled Emp and stood next to Ike. "Yeah, this don't sound very good." She took Blaze's Pokéball from her pocket and held it, ready for anything.

Adie, who had been enjoying a pleasant morning on the beach, as she always was, glanced out over the surface of the water in time to see the rest of the gang surfing off after a green blur. Gathering her things quickly, she released Seel out into the water, jumping onto his back as they took off towards the group, in an attempt to intercept them at some point. Their pokemon were, of course, bigger and stronger than her own, so by the time she had caught up with them they had already landed.
Panting as she pulled herself up onto the Pier, she smiled at everyone, recalling Seel, who definitely deserved a rest after all that. Giving them all a small wave, she laughed slightly, tossing her wet blue hair over her shoulder.
"You guys are hard to catch up to!"

As the team ran in the midst of the panic, Ike could see a few pokemon acting a little strange. He saw nothing peculiar about them though.
"I don't get it. Why are the pokemon acting like this?" he asked. "Team Shadow?"

"More Shadow Pokémon, I guess." Maddy looked over at Ike. "We should just kick everyone's a** and get this over with."

"Good idea." said Ike, grabbing Lucario's poke ball. Suddenly a window burst high-up in the battle tower from a powerful Hyrdo Pump. Ike's eyes opened wide.
"That must be one heated battle. Lets check it out!" he said, running toward the battle tower. All around them numerous trainers did their best to calm their pokemon.

Maddy ran after Ike, watching all the trainers as she passed. "Perhaps it'd be best if everyone would just leave."

"I think that's what they're trying to do" said Ike, entering the building. As soon as he did, we was met with a couple of Team Shadow grunts. There weren't that many.
"Aww, only a few of you guys to beat?" Ike said sarcastically.
"Hm." grunted one of the grunts. "Unlike you, we're serving a higher-...YOU!" the grunt called out upon seeing Maddy. The rest of the grunts looked at each other, not sure what to do.
"Whatever." said Ike, calling out Lucario, ready for battle.

Maddy crossed her arms and glared at the grunts. "I hope you guys missed me." Her left fist sprung into a purple blaze. "I'm surprised you didn't come looking for me." She tossed Blaze's Pokéball up and down with her right hand, a smirk crossing her face.

The grunts tembled before Maddy, scared.
"W-we didn't kn-know where to begin!" one grunt pleaded. Ike just stared at Maddy with one eye brow slightly raised. Lucario backed off his fighting stance.
"We can use this to our advantage." Ike whispered to Maddy. Another loud rumble came from over head. The battle was still going on upstairs.
