****** is one of those crazy words I'd freely say on the internet, but would feel a bit bad about using IRL. Mostly because I know someone would freak the ******** out and have a meltdown even though the word has no real context in Canada. Sure, there were ****** slaves or whatever, but Canada never had them. Black people in Canada got nothin' to gripe about. <******** though, people gotta cool it with ******. That was more a vague "you" than a "you, Crawley" but I should've assumed you'd get kinda butthurt. lol
I definitely don't go around saying it in person because I also don't go around calling people retarded randomly. [not randomly]
But if you were born in the late 80's, or sometime in the 90's, and you wig the ******** out if you even hear the word no matter the context, you're full of s**t and looking for excuses to feel slighted.
I mean it's just plain fact. I don't pretend to know what it feels like. Can't. I can tell you that country-banjo-stereotypical racists (Indiana had tons of them) ******** love the reaction they get from it.
So you can feed into it being taboo or you can depower it and focus more on the historical context. Just getting pissed and going "hey, hey, stop that" whenever people say it doesn't do s**t, for anyone. Especially online.
It just makes you look sensitive and hypocritical when you try to act like a badass but one word makes you PMS. lol

And you'd be hard pressed to find any black person using the word cracker on a regular basis like it's cool.
And the word itself doesn't bother me. Usage by other people doesn't really bother me. The way it has been turned into some lol-meme-trend has.
