Ever rolled her eyes at everyone's soft or approving expression toward Nik. "Please... The only thing you'd have to apologize for is getting rid of the other Musica. He was much more approachable, and already I can tell that talking with him was more intellectually stimulating and just... real."

She already felt as if she were talking to a smarmy salesman. It was a similar sensation she had felt when she had first met Musica properly in her room for the Truth or Dare game. The other form was much easier to talk with, even if he had been crying about his mother. At least he was more open and honest then and wasn't trying to get everyone to like him.

Ever gasped and jumped slightly against Nessa, wincing slightly in pain, when she heard Ares' voice carry clear through the barrier and across the pond to where she stood. Why was she surprised that his voice could carry so much if he wanted it to? She shouldn't be.

She stared at Ares for awhile, wondering how she could get to talk to him. Of course she disregarded what he said about going to the hospital wing right now. She wouldn't listen to her headmistress about that, so why would she listen to Ares? But how could she even tell him that if he was on the other side of the barrier? Did the headmistress need to continue to exert her energy to keep the barrier up if the enemy was gone now?

And then, if all of that wasn't enough, of course her best friend had to go and collapse on the ground. Akira never really could get the timing of things right.

She sighed and looked at her friend's body on the ground. She could see her breathing just fine. She had probably just collapsed from everything that had happened, from being in that weird form earlier, and from using so much of her energy to try and heal Ever.

"Headmistress... I think there is someone else you should be more concerned about."

She pointed over to Akira.

Ever turned her head and scowled at Nessa. "It's not an opinion. It's a fact. Why would someone like a smooth-yet-fake version of someone when they could have the authentic one? Despite what he says, he is at least not acting like a normal..."

The second part of what Nessa had said finally registered to Ever and her scowl deepened. If she had seen anyone else's face in the same expression that hers was in, she would have laughed.

"A person seems to weigh more when they're too weak to hold themselves up! I am NOT that heavy on a normal basis... ow."

She winced and held her midsection in pain. Why was she yelling? She shouldn't be yelling right now... but it was so hard not to when people riled her up.

Ever couldn't help but scoff slightly, even though it hurt her ribs. "There is a big difference between being nice and being a suck-up."

Ever smirked at Nik. "Girlie? Seriously? Are we eight? And I think you are missing my definition of authenticity entirely. I was talking about your attitude, not your spiritual or genetic make-up, whether you have all of your souls together or not."

She moved away from Vanessa and sat down on the ground. She didn't want to stand anymore.

"Uh," Ari said, "I'm sensing some tension here. Can't we all get along for five minutes? Please?" It wasn't a smart-a** remark, but a genuine plea. "Sure, Evermore's Grecian and Nik's Norse, but does that mean you HAVE to hate each other? I like you both just the same..." she said, faltering a bit on that part. She liked Evermore as a friend, despite her pain-in-the-a** tendencies... she was good to have in a fight. Nik... she liked him a bit more than that, but the constant body-swap had her confused. She was still sure she liked him, though.

When he looked at her, she smiled again, unable to keep from doing so. "... ridonkulous," she added, wiggling her fingers.

Ari looked like she'd just gotten slapped. Her green eyes widened in shock, and her hand jumped to cover the scar on her chest. "Low blow, Evermore. Why drag me into this? Just because you have severe bipolar disorder as a result of incest doesn't mean you take it out on others," she said bitterly. Ari knew it was wrong to retaliate, and retaliation was just what this sad, bitter girl wanted. "You can't verbally abuse others when you're feeling like s**t, Evermore, it's not right. Akira... she's so sweet! Do you insult her when you're angry?"

Ever actually laughed at what Ari said, and laughed hard. It killed her midsection, but she couldn't stop it.

"Oh my gods!!... I know, right?! Incest is like rampant among the Greeks. It's almost funny how much of it exists amongst the gods! Oh ouch... Man, but you can't really say that I'm a product from incest. I come from my mothers' blood and the essence of night. The Furies were made from the night, but since the night is not a person and it actually requires a ritual to create a living creature from night, you can't really say that I was even born, let alone of incest. But I like the observation you made, Ari!"

She heard what Nik said and she immediately answered, despite the fact that he was walking away. She figured that her first answer would be the most honest and real.

"I liked the drunk and honest Musica. I don't like it when someone has to get drunk to be honest, but I always prefer honesty."
