It is somewhat annoying to deal with but I'm getting used to it. And yeah, I'll still be working while classes are going.

Good luck with your busy schedule! I hope that doctor can do something for you before you get too busy. As for myself, I am taking senior seminar this fall. It kind of makes me nervous. I've never had to write a 30 page capstone paper before.

By the way, don't you think it's weird how this guild became a ghost town? When I joined in 2005, it was booming so much that I couldn't keep up. Not that I really stuck around for more than about a month back then...

Yeahhhh....I'm in the Honors College and if I stay in it, which would be a good idea, I have something quite similar. Reallllly not looking forward to that one since I too have never written anything near that. The longest paper I've ever done was a 14 page research paper for Junior Comp class in high school.

I think this guild was sadly stifled by its own purpose. It was for those of us who were fed up with the AMC forum spam, a place for us to hide from the stupidity of the forums. However, as time went on, Gaia's population grew and along with it the stupidity level so soon there wasn't anything left for most of us on here. If it hadn't been for modding I probably would have quit for good a long time ago.

I mostly just hang out in my guilds for that very reason. I quit Gaia sometime near the end of 2005, and I didn't get back on until summer 2007. I guess I got really bored and needed something to kill time with. My guilds and my friends keep me on Gaia. Recently, I have been venturing into the forums just for kicks. I've also joined a hangout thread in the Aquarium forum despite the fact that I don't have tank. sweatdrop Were you able to enjoy Gaia as much as you used to while you were modding? It seems like you would make alot of enemies that way, or at least get alot of junk from people.

I changed my activity on Gaia when I was modded but that was a personal choice. I could have continued posting in the forums as I had before. I think modding just brought a different type of fun with it.

I suppose that it would have its advantages in some ways. But, if modding kept you on Gaia before, what is keeping you on Gaia now? Guilds perhaps?

I dunno, the friends I made while modding, being able to say things in forums that I wasn't able to before, the possibility of picking modding back up, trying to revive and sustain this guild. I guess I've just put so much time into Gaia that I'm not ready to drop it completely yet.

Also, IF ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO SAY SOMETHING THEN DO SO, THIS GUILD MUST LIVE ON

I'll keep posting, so it won't be completely dead. Hopefully some of the others will pop back in and help sustain it. I own a guild. The original version of it opened in summer 2007. Our captain later got mad, banned everyone, and closed the guild. We got back together in a thread in the guild forums. Within a week, I bought a second hand guild and all of us moved back in. We really thrived in our new home. Then, I had to do my student teaching in the fall (which I later failed.) Anyway, I was kept so incredibly busy with all of the requirements and junk that I literally didn't even have time to eat or sleep. I was averaging about 3 hours of sleep per night and eating while doing my school work just to be able to get it all done. Needless to say, I didn't have time for Gaia. When I came back after my student teaching, the guild had pretty much died. I got a couple friends together and we revitalized it. We just ended a guild event a couple weeks ago, and we had about 1300 new posts in that one week. I know that it's a long and seemingly pointless story, but all I'm saying is that there's hope for life here again. You could go throw the members list and send random PM's to formerly active members urging them to come back. You might also want to look into getting some new blood in.

Are you still here? Is anyone lurking around?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:52 pm

I'm still here, sorry. Classes started back up and the girl I've been chasing after for I don't know how long turned me down so I've been distracted from here.

I'm sorry Kenny. It's always tough when you're rejected. sad I've been rejected many times. How are classes so far? Are you enjoying them?

I woke up this morning feeling like crap. I think I caught whatever my brother's girlfriend has. She was hanging out at our house yesterday. xp

They're not too bad, fairly laid back so far but it's still early so who knows what they could really be like. They all seem fun though and they're about stuff I'm interested in so it should work out well.

Boo, being sick sucks. At some point soon I'm going to go on meds that will essentially disable my immune system so I'm gonna have to be really watching out since I'm in class and working where I touch money and items that a lot of people have touched. Hopefully the h1n1 flu doesn't become an issue around here xp

I'm glad your semester is looking like a good one. biggrin

How long will you be on those meds? I hope they work. Your condition sounds painful. It would be awful for you to get sick or get some other infection on top of all that. xp

You're green again? eek I thought that you said that you were too busy and ill to mod right now. What made you change your mind?

I'll be on them for however long it takes to stop the Crohn's (since it's caused by an overactive immune system) or for them to see that it's not going to stop it.

Yeah, I wanted to have a free summer but since classes have started back up I'm gonna try to get back into it since I have free time that I didn't expect to have.
