Ameko no Mori I'd say Ayashi no Ceres is, like, her darkest work.. but at the same time, it's very moving.. it's about a girl who, on her sixteenth birthday, has the soul of Ceres awakened in her.. Ceres was this celestial maiden who was trapped on earth because this guy stole her celestial robes (hagoromo) and then forced her to marry him.. and they had kids, but.. yeah... and.. some.. other stuff... >.> Anyone wanna pick it up from there *bad at explaining* I know this is from a while back, but i just realized something. they mentioned this same plot in the second inuyasha movie! sorry if i'm spaming or something, but i just thought that was cool ^-^

yea. actually the whole movie is a twist on that legend. hachi mentions the getting married one when he's with miroku and the old monk in the scene right before kagome's kidnapped by kaguya. i suppose it's a true legend then if it's been used more than once

Watase-sensei always base her fantastic stories on real facts: that's what makes her mangas so realistic. 3nodding

There was a believed Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu, and Seiryuu. Very cool.

There was a believed Suzaku, Byakko, Genbu, and Seiryuu. Very cool. Yay someone mentioned the second Inuyasha movie XD I actually fansubbed that before it was ever licensed a few years back. I had to work two days on pure research because of the folktales involved in that movie. The primary folktale is the Taketori Monogatari (Bamboo Cutter's Tale) which circles around the character Kaguya Hime. The Inuyasha movie doesn't have the tale exactly as it should be, Kagome explains the actual Japanese tale at somepoint. But the Tennyo legend and the Hagoromo is a completely separate folktale, but got sort of intertwined with the Bamboo Cutter's Tale in the Inuyasha second movie. The Hagoromo Legend we know in Ceres is a different story. The Hagoromo mentioned in Inuyasha is the Ama no Hagoromo or loosely translated "Robe of the Heavens" which was just placed on Kaguya Hime to make her forget her time on earth and wasn't necessarily needed for her to return to the kingdom on the moon. But yea, I love it when big Japanese folktales like that are central to a story. I learned a lot from both Inuyasha and Ayashi no Ceres thanks to that.

This weekend I was able to purchase the cere original sound track, part 2. It's in full Japanese, and it's really good. I'm thinking of going and buying the first one aswell. Most of the songs are just the background music from the anime, and there is one song with lyrics. Scarlet, on this cd, has no lyrics though...nor does it have the piano opening.

I highly recommend buying the other AnC soundtrack. Scarlet and the ending music (One? I don't remember the name) are awesome. Definitely worth it. whee

Its just about knowing Japanese folktales ^^

Mahiro T?isn't so hot. Plus he's so stiff and boring... domokun How come the hereoine always chooses the boring guys in Y?ase's manga? (Miaka & Tamahome(Tasuki), Aya & T?Y? Alice & Kyo(Frey) My favourites are currently Shuro and Y?But, I'm starting to like Progenitor... sweatdrop He's so cool sometimes... But, he's also a jerk and a pervert... I agree, I find the love choice of Watase's main character bad 80% of the time. I guess the only one which I REALLY liked was *spoiler for Zettai Kareshi* Riiko choosing Night.*end of spoiler*
