X Dark Serge X Cormini @Kyren/Serge: Sounds like a threatening move. Too bad the only pokemon that can use it are not as bulky. Maybe shuckle can use it effectively.
I do agree on that, but you can also use it with some kind of different approach, Galvantula is by no means a slow pokemon.
Playing mind games with it, predicting/forcing a switch out might be a good way to lay the web. Or simply use it as a lead.
Sad part, we still have team preview... so seeing one of those is oftenly a sign of your intention.
Perhaps you might want to try Smeargle... somehow it always find itself filling those roles while also using spores.I'm about to try a Sticky Web lead with Galvantula. It should have a base speed that's fast enough to get past immediate threats (Charizard for example). I'm thinking a 252Atk/4SpD/252Spe spread. Sticky Web, U-Turn, Thunder/Thunderbolt, and whatever fourth move seems best. Slap a Focus sash on it too for good measure. Galvantula will support my MegaHeracross and my Crawdaunt, as well as most of my other team since they are not the fastest. Granted, I'm still experimenting with team dynamics.

I kind of dislike when a pokemon can do better being focused on a certain attack, not mixed, at some points only a Chansey/Blissey will wall you, but you won´t do much to it with u turn anyways, so at least volt switch comes with a stronger STAB

Oh, duh, I was mixing up my movesets/EV spreads. Yeah, what you posted was ideally what I was aiming for if I decided to put a Galvantula on my team. Is there a thread to talk about the competitive strategies and the metagame? I don't want to flood the Safari thread with talk of battling.
