Barnabé watched on at the two flickers in the mist. Their lack of approuch was diserning for him him. He pressed one hand to have spikes of rock raise up towards himself to provide a frontal guard while keeping the tips of the other on the earth. He did not wish to use that set of spikes just yet.
His sensory abilities were not as acute as his creator but sharp enough all the same to notice a slight cange to the flow around him. He could feel something new add to the mix, but it did not bother him. A rear attack already gaurded and now his front better protected leaving a free hand to devise his counter mesure. He waited still for the moment to turn the tide of the mist against its creator. Waiting for the best moment to strike.

He couldn't find a way to make his opponent budge so Jurei had to resort to more drastic measures. Since using his bloodline may give him away, he forced the clones to rush in from all three sides. The two regulars were easily dispersed, but he forced his brother to use chakra to fortify himself. All part of the plan. The volcanic clone however would attack from behind, drawing its arm back as it thrust forward with a chakra enhanced punch.
Barnabé pressed his palm firmly onto the ground dispatching the forward attacks. A textbox decoy. They had bidded their time too long for him to believe anything else. There was no suprise that that someone would launch a rear attack. His fortification were set for reasons and his rear attack was just enough cause to turn the tide. He was preparing to use he opened the interlocking wood enough to give the clone some room to trust then closed it again to allow the fist to pass and to try and lock the arm. Same time he cut his hands in front of him causing the mist to begin to swirl around him then bursting out to create a wave of surging water. The wall both absorbed the mist and turned it against its creator.

From the safety of his tree Jurei's hooded and cloaked physique simply looked down dissolving his scalpel. It had lost its purpose, what a waste. He formed a string of hand signs and the earth beneath Shiorei would begin to raise up into the air but not quite level with his tree-perch. "Doryuu Jouheki!" [Earth Rampart]. As it rose he held out his palm and decided to try his new jutsu. As he focused chakra into it, it began whirling and spinning until he held the fable rasengan in his palm. He then jumped down and aimed it straight for Shiorei.
Barnabé knee's buckled with sudden shift elevating him up the target above Rasengan in hand. The buckling in his knees preventing him from moving out the way. He had to move quick or eat a Rasengan to the face. Of any jutsu he was willing to take a Rasengan was not on the top of his list. He brought his hands together forming snake. "Tajū" thick roots began to spiral around him and up towards Jurei as three others grew out from the sides coming up. Priority growth was given to the roots shielding him rather then the ones trying to attack.

As Jurei descended, he plunged the rasengan into the very mound he created in attempt to destroy his brothers fortification from the root, literally. As the earthen mound shattered he fell back towards the ground performing signs, his feet locking to the ground once they touched down.
Barnabé could feel his foothold crumbling he pressed his palms harder as a new root grew to catch him as the other two lashed out towards his attack. The same time he channeled more chakra into he root underneath his feet causing more branches of blossoms to bloom.
He was preparing Hikarakuyou or Hyakkaryouran as his other roots act as his diversion giving the blossoms time to bloom and many there would be as the branches budded along the root supporting him.

Jurei scoffed as he started a new string of signs biting his thumb. The jutsu that was prepping he knew all too well, so wasn't willing to take any chances. As his palm hit the ground a large gate of old Kyoto rose between himself and Shiorei, capable of withstanding almost anything his little brother could dish out. He started prepping more signs, just in case.
Barnabé looked at the gate. It was pointless for him to use the same two roots to batter the gate. It was pointless and trying to force his way through would cost more chakra than he wanted to use. His follow was as good as any. He clapped his hands causing the blossoms to scatter into the air. He put a little more chakra into them to get them high enough to scatter above the gate. There were hundreds of blossoms dancing in the air.
He formed snake again and they began to rain down over the Rashomon Gate each like colorful shuriken flying down. It was Hikarakuyō each blossom like a razor sharp shuriken an the sheer volume of them was staggering. Hundreds raining down cutting through the treeline severing branches all in the general direction of his assailant. He was not about to let his opponent off so easily.

As Jurei watched the blossoms float above his gate and soar towards him he had little choice to react. Thinking on instinct he formed the seal of the snake. Within a few moments the rashoumon gate would fall and a half dome sphere of wood encompassed Jurei. Safely protecting him from the bombardment of flower petals. He also removed his cloak and waited for Shiorei's onslaught to subside.
Barnabé shook his head. He had his suspicions as the forest reeked with Jurei's chakra and the fact he was unable to sense anything from his opponent. On the other hand he could have been that skilled at hiding himself. He made a tsk, noise as he shook his head disapprovingly. "Trying to get me out the way brother dearest."
He clapped his hand dispelling his root causing them to burrow into the earth as he took a step down. His scarf trail from either side of him. "Just trying to annoy me? Did the Hokage send you on this fool's errand?"

Jurei chuckled as his wooden barrier collapsed. "Actually yes. I was instructed to test one of the genin in a real-life battle scenario. And who better than my little brother the most promising of them all?" He said with his trademark smile.
Barnabé crossed his arms turning his head, "Flattery gets you nowhere brother. You went easy on me. No greater an insult could have been made!" Fortunately Shiorei wasn't here. He really would have been angery but at the same time he will be happy to hear that his was correct. "Go back to the Hokage and tell him he'd need to do better."

Jurei shook his head as he turned to head back. "You fought well brother, whether you accept the truth or not." he said jumping into the trees and heading back towards the village. [exit]
Barnabé waited Jurei was clear before shifting back to his given form. He straighten himself off and dusted off his sleeve. His voice began to shift back as he smiled, "better than expected." He whistled as he returned to his master back in their hobble. He must report the events so Shiorei can plan further.
