Ayadine's quill continued the scratch across the page, as Otori rambled on, unfased. It would seem as though he lectured for himself, rather than for his pupil, who often passed these painfully boring periods of time, drawing on a piece of parchmant whatever happened to flutter into her mind. Otori would often stop and ask her if she was making sure to "Write all this down", in response to which he recieve a nod and a smile sweet as honey.
See, Aya posessed an almost natural charm, that she had trained from a young age to melt even the coldest heart. Thanks to this, she glided through school without having to lift a finger, but now as she is training to one day succeed her father's tribe, it's been pointed out that she doesn't in fact know anything.
"Ayadine Emerald Gulmas!" A voice cut into Aya's train of thoughts, making her jump and scribble on her picture. She stared at her now ruined artwork in dismay, not bothering to look up at her teacher.
"Ayadine for goodness sake child, you haven't taken in a single thing today have you?" Otori continued, exasperation thick in his gravelly voice.
"No." Aya admitted guiltily. She felt there wasn't a need to add that she hadn't actually taken in one thing since they had begun these private lessons. There was no need to wind the poor chap up.
