For any one interested in coming up with a way to play 40k online feel free to PM me, In a recent test Gaia has graciously provided a dice rolling system almost tailored to this use. The only thing that needs to be hashed out is troop movement and terrain. Forum space to work on this project in, is not an issue.
Things to consider:
-easy of use -varying levels of pc skill - single post troop updates ( movement phase ) - terrain ( functionality )
resources at our disposal: - Gaia Forums -photo bucket -Army builder ( post-able official army lists )
Contact me if your interested

If a reliable mapping system can be devised with a good ranging system count me in. I've tried this before with someone else over MSN some years ago, however the gridded map we used was a crude option and poor sadly.

I've tried this before with someone else over MSN some years ago, however the gridded map we used was a crude option and poor sadly. I found a mapping program years ago, It allowed hexagon tiles and had a butt load of different terrain icons. Moslty it worked except it liked to crash crying The whole trick here is the mapping hmm...

Reliable mapping system = no fussing over movement and firing ranges for starters. Moving diagonally across a gridded map is a real pain and left to desired.
Now if a cheat-proof scatter die could be incorporated into the dice system to allow for deep strike and ordnance scatter then things would really be good to go.
edit.
As for the whole legal thing, that you are required to actually own the models for the game is a load of bull. We had the same thing brought up several years ago when we had characters fighting one another. Some idiot kept on bringing up the legal restrictions and how we were breaking the law.
If the person who told you people the same happens to be either "NightPredator11" than please ignore him. He thinks that he is a legal expert but he's in fact a royal pain in the a**.

Isis, the only problem is that if we do get back into playing 40k online. We need to have some way of proving that whatever codex/models you use, you have. Do to legal issue, with Games Workshop.

Also I'm starting up a new rp, since no one tossed me any ideas I thought some up on my own.
I have been writing fluff for my Space Marine chapter, the Seraphs Mortis in order to give them a little background. I think it would be cool to RP out a fight that could be later written down as a fluff story.
So if you like this idea, we can get it up in the next day or so.
