YEah. You'd think that. Of course, that's what happens when you think that because both your parents are us citizens, that I'd be considered one too...
Of course, that's your tax dollars at work. Some spanish-speaking dude walks in and gets one, and because I'm not a completely US citizen, I'm denied...
My advice to you, jaden: Beware of still or slow-moving objects.

It took me three tries to get my driver's License. I'm not that good of a driver.

I'm a good driver... probably even a great one when it comes to reaction time and emergency maneuvers. Its just paperwork that defeats me. Its times like these that make me glad about my pilot's liscence. I think I should build a starship... http://www.evilrulers.com/starfleetcaptain.htm

Wait a minute... you've got a pilot's license but can't get a driver's license?

Ironic eh?
And I do have a driver's liscence. I'm trying to chagne states before this one expires, which is turning out to be hell on wheels.

I was thinking about taking flying lessons once, but it can be so expensive.

Just don't crash the plane.
But you can get a pilot's liscence at 14 years of age, so it was kind of neat sitting in driver's ed when you already can fly... I've had one for a while now..

I envy Nelo currently. Cause I can fly a plane pretty good, but they won't allow me to have a pilot's liscence... something to do with crashing into walls.

I've got 15 minutes of stick time already. The funny thing with that was that they put me in an aerobatically certified aircraft.
I think the instructor/copilot was expecting someone with a little less knowledge of how to fly a plane. I've been siming since I was five (My first flight sim was the little known game Av8B Harrier, followed by Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe, Red Baron... Now I fly IL2 on max realism and max difficulty, have decimated whole squadrons worth of people online in European Air War and swear at the missile warning system in LockOn) I knew a little more about flight and flying then the average twelve year old.
Well, he asked me to do a basic flight around town. After that first turn it went from a simple circle too... A whole list of maneuvers for me to go through... That was fun.

I'm surprized they did.
Most people can't even afford a plane like that on their own, much less a school.

Home built Aerobatically certified experimental. Built like a Zero, nothing more then a flying skin of a plane. lol
It was a Boy Scout event to boot, and it was even free.

That explains a lot of it.
Between home built and boy scouts, that pretty much sums up every reason why it was just a joyride. Too bad those won't count towards flight time...

Yeah... That sucks.
I'm tempted to join the Air Force as a UAV pilot, I spend so much time siming It wouldn't be a drastic change.

Just join CAP. Then you get a liscence just for being part of the program, along with pay when you actually do things.
At least, that's what I heard last... The Air Farce really isn't looking for too many pilots at any given time, from what I've heard throughout the O clubs...

Yes and no. They're not really looking for manned-aircraft pilots right now. They are however looking for people to work with their UAVs, at least thats what I've heard from my Air Force bub, but he's just an engine mechanic. It's a little different skill set.
