"That dumb biker's somewhere in the city with Celebi. The tire tracks lead right to it." Ike pointed out. A grim thought entered his mind next. "If we don't catch that Celebi, we'll never be able to return to our own time."

Maddy crossed her arms and peered at the city. "I wonder how well we'll blend in..." She shrugged. "Oh well, I don't wanna be stuck in this year all that much so let's get going." She just walked off, following the tire tracks, not really paying attention to her surroundings. It seemed she was lost in her thoughts... again.

Ike followed the tracks as well, and as expected, they lead into Goldenrod City. The problem was, though, as soon as they entered the city, there were no more tracks to follow. The dirt paths ended and the asphalt began.
"Great... isn't this great... what if he already time traveled again?" Ike complained. His gut told him to keep searching, and he turned to Maddy. "If you were a biker in the past, where would you go?" he asked. "We really need to know what year it is."

Maddy thought for a few seconds. "Well... I'm sure they have the underground tunnels here... I mean, the guy has Celebi with him. If he hasn't time travelled already then he's gonna go somewhere where he can go unnoticed."

"You're right!" said Ike, totally forget there was an underground system in Goldenrod. With a head motion to Maddy to follow, he was off sprinting toward the nearest underground entrance.

Maddy took off after him, not bothering to take in the old Goldenrod scenery. "He better not give us too much trouble... I wanna get back quickly..."

As the two entered a stairwell that would take them down to the underground, Ike stumbled upon a newspaper. Stopping Maddy, he picked it up to read it's date.
"November 6th, 1979." He read aloud. "... 1979 huh? Not sure if it's the correct day, but we can trust the year." he then added. 1979... my parents are alive... I wonder where they are... can't think about that now. Gotta find that Celebi. he thought to himself, continuing his descent down the stairs.

"Wow... We've gone back pretty far... Well, considering how long the planets been around it's not very far... but yeah..." She sighed slightly and just continued down the stairs, her left hand on the railing. She glanced over and noticed blood was soaking through the bandages. "WHY?!"

Ike didn't have time to question why Maddy just yelled out why. He had just reached the bottom of the stairs into a whole different world. The underground was full of shady-looking characters. Lines of black market dealers stretched the walls with strange goods and caged pokemon. Normally a sight like this would enrage Ike and make him want to release the dogs of war, but considering his circumstances, he didn't care at all. All he wanted to do was find that skinny-looking biker.
"Keep your eyes peeled." Ike told Maddy, shoving his way through the crowd of criminals and poachers.

Maddy's eyes flitted from wall to wall, taking in all the new sights. She felt unaffected by all the sad, caged Pokémon for some reason, and that bothered her. She folded her arms over her stomach, feeling a bit sick. "..."

x-cupids arrow-x Sammy walked in, a notebook filled with many pages of scripts in her hands. "Hiya everyone...! sweatdrop " She called, fiddling through the papers. "Sorry about being absent recently; lots of theatre to practice..." She sighed, quickly trying to memorize a few of her lines for one of the many up-coming performances. "At least you're here now." Ginji chuckled as he walked out of his room.

Ike got fed up with just looking around and started asking people.
"Hey. You seen a skinny guy around here? A bit tall, has a bag."
"Nope"
"You. You seen a skinny-looking guy. Wears weird clothes."
"Like you? Ha."
He gave up. Walking over to a public telephone next to a dealer, he leaned against it and took a deep breath as he crouched down to the ground.
"It's hopeless Maddy." he said. He looked to the side and spotted the dealer next to him. He looked very, VERY familiar, but wasn't the person Ike was thinking about... or was he? He had a familiar look of icy coldness to his face... and wore a slick pair of sunglasses.
"Ames?" Ike said aloud.
"Hm?" said the dealer, looking to be in his very-late teens, early twenties.
"You!" stood up Ike. He grabbed the young Ames by the collar. Ames didn't fight back, but gave Ike a very annoyed face. Here he had him, his parent's to-be killer.
"You can let go now before something bad happens." said the calm and cold man. Ike threw him away, but not knocking him down. The young Ames fixed his shirt.
"What are you doing?" interrogated Ike.
"Do I know you?" said Ames, walking away. Ike didn't follow, but instead looked over at Maddy.
"...If we're in the past... we could change the future, Maddy." he said. "Think of the stuff we could do!"

Maddy frowned slightly. "Ike... I don't think it's wise to change the past... because you never know what the result will be in the future... Don't let it get to your head."

"I bet whatever it would be would be better..." Ike mumbled. "We could... stop Archie from ever starting Team Aqua! Heh... or... see Cyrus as a kid and make him more sociable... totally eradicating Marty's depression and letting him do whatever he was gonna do with Team Galaxy... or... " he rambled on, spitting out ideas. "...or you. You could fix anything you want in your life. Make it better. I could do the same... actually have a good life."

Ginji stared at his computer as he read to headlines on his laptop. As he clicked on the top link to read the story, the computer returned a 104 error. "That's odd..." he mumbled as he hit the back button, the page now totally different. At the top of the webpage was a picture of a log and multiple hearts. "Date a log?" Ginji asked as he tilted his head.
