This is actually something I was wanting to bring up. Look at this little bit Foam said. Foam-Dome I've already explained my thought process as best as I can. My statement wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Feel free to interpret it how you wish, though. I'll just take solace in the fact that you don't know what you're talking about. I guarantee you that if I said something like that, everyone would have turned on me and said I was being rude or whatever, and that the person I said that to does know what they're talking about because you know them and they're better than that!!But since nobody knows me, you can judge me however you like, I guess.

Jedi Sasquatch I think it's a guarantee that everyone's going to side with Foam Dome if he and I were to ever get into a dispute (not that I would consider this a dispute), because everybody knows him very well, and nobody knows me well. Jedi, we know Foamy and know him as a general nice guy so we didn't worry about it when he said that to Raven. You did worry, which shows you cared enough to tell him to not be mean to Raven. That wasn't his intention but it's great that you cared enough to say something. Just because I disagreed with smoking cigarettes because it's not just self destructive doesn't mean I'm against you. We're not trying to take sides. We're saying it was a misunderstanding and we would like to move past this.

LabTech Kestin Does anyone know of an artist who's relatively cheap and is well-known for doing really...weird commissions? I want to get art of a ship, but it's...well...saying it's a crack pairing would be a massive understatement...and I want someone who'll just do it without giving me the online version of a very strange look. xp o,o... Just curious, is this a shipping I'd know? @discussion: Honestly, angry misunderstandings, to me, are all about the motivation behind them. Neither of you wanted to be rude, motive is pretty pure. I see nothing wrong here and don't really get why it's being extended. 0^ó

Telling her that she's less cool because of a secret she shared... She should be able to post here without worrying about being judgedGeez, assumptions, man. I wasn't making fun of her or saying that I like her any less upon learning that she smokes. I was simply voicing my feelings about the act of smoking without stating them outright. Just to clarify, I don't think she's uncool for smoking. I just think that smoking is questionable. Yeah, I'm not buying it. You were still making a judgment, and we're not supposed to judge one another in this thread. I know you don't think she's uncool for smoking, but you said yourself that you think she's less cool for smoking. That's judgment if I ever saw it. I wasn't effing judging her. Just because I don't think smoking is the wisest thing in the world, that doesn't mean I have a problem with her. Christ on a cracker, people. You've known me for months. You really think I would come outta nowhere and just pass judgment on someone after learning of one of their habits? I've already explained my thought process as best as I can. Just because your post was misinterpreted doesn't mean that the people who interpreted it differently "don't know what they're talking about".
My post can literally be translated into, "I find such an action in general to be questionable, but I don't have anything against you personally for it."
Well, if they're misinterpreting my post, then chances are they don't know what they're talking about, because the basis of their response is built around said misinterpretation.
Here's some food for thought, though.

Well, what if I had said that I find smoking awesome, and that I think she's awesome for smoking?
Would people still be scolding me for passing judgment? Or would it be a different story because I was being supportive?

Don't worry though, you don't seem nearly as dickish as Night does right now. (Incidentally, I've noticed that Night really has a tendency to piss me off. Don't know why.) And anyway, maybe this would have worked better if I had worded it differently; the problem wasn't that you were being judgmental, but that your post could be easily construed as offensive. And I really don't see how your post can literally be translated to that, all you literally said was "you lose coolness points for that". That can be interpreted in more ways than one, don't know if you realize that. Anyway, like ten million people have already said, this has gone too far. The whole reason we're arguing in the first place just seems trivial by this point, and I know that you're a cool person, so meh, I'll stop talking about this if you want.

Foam, your post could be taken in a mean way, which is what we were trying to tell you. But instead of saying "Oh, s**t, I didn't mean it like that! I'm sorry!" you're arguing with us and telling us we're stupid or something for thinking that. No matter what your intentions were, your post CAN be read in a judgmental way, and that goes against the rules of this thread. It doesn't make you a horrible person, and I'm sure you didn't mean it, but I still don't think it needed to be said in the first place because it has the potential to hurt Raven's feelings... which I'm sure you don't want to do, riiiight? <3
