That one was a little slow at the end. The face was really good though. This guy is using "unnerving" a lot.

Well, it's really the only word that could get the message across. Maybe unsettling would work, too, but I guess he didn't think of that.
Okay, there's two M64 stories, but I only feel like posting the latter, since the first is like "WHAT THE ********, the second one is, too, but in a less surreal way. Wait, no. It's more ******** it, I'll post them both.
That is if you want me to. Want?
Edit: 'Kay, first, postan.

I actually had a really crazy situation happen when playing Super Mario 64 that I've always been afraid to talk about.
It was after I had woke up from a nightmare dealing with the Boos from the game haunting my room. I played the level where Mario can transform between big and small, don't remember the details because it had been so long. I can remember for some reason always being scared of Bubba, the fish with the shades. There was always something so unsettling about it, especially how it could seem docile and yet the animation of him swallowing you whole was creepy for that time period. In fact, for a long time I was afraid of going to this level and getting into the water because of this. However, for some reason a couple of years ago I decided, what the hell, it's N64. Let's start up this game and let the good times roll.
I had all the stars. All the levels. Everything. I was just doing this thing for kicks. Only one thing REALLY unsettled me, that happened a moment after I entered the level.
The screen panned to a brand new star. A pure yellow star that was about a half a size bigger than any other star.
And it was hovering above that damned fish, who for some reason had the shades off and had this eerie ghostly look about him.
Playing the level, the music was different. It was still in the Mario 64 music sound, but there was a slow haunting version of the castle music from Super Mario World playing as I went across the board. I hopped on the turtles to relieve them of the shells, but every time I tried to board a shell to do the turtle surfing routine I would get a text box stating:
"There is no time to surf, Mario. Go meet the big fish in the lake, and get that last star for MEEEE!!! - Peach". Then both turtle and shell would disappear in a puff of smoke and leave a black coin behind. In fact, Goombas left behind black coins as well, though the rest of the coins on the stage were normal. The black coins made this very faint coin sound, like it wasn't supposed to be in this game but was either forced in the game engine or was removed but somehow conditions happened that resurfaced it.
Another thing I thought about is nothing would hurt me on this stage. I could hit enemies with the usual animation but it would take nothing off of my hearts. Neither would falling far. It was like the game was making sure I would eventually get to going for that star evitably, which I did eventually. But not without first going in the water to see if I could drown.
SOON AS I STEPPED IN THE WATER THAT DAMNED FISH MADE A BEELINE FOR ME!!!
I got out the water fast. I was like "What in the hell?!?". The fish usually doesn't make a move unless you're right at him and this particular time the A.I. is on "kill mode". So I was determined not to get that star right away until I could think of something. So I killed time exploring a little more out of sheer curiosity. Another one of those message boxes popped up.
"Why are you wasting time? I need that Star Mario! -Peach"

Unsettling would have worked well. I just tend to notice word repetition.

Weird. I play for approximately SEVEN MORE SECONDS.
"Don't you want to be with me Mario? Don't you want to be mine?"
And I froze. I haven't nearly played every Mario game but I kept up with boards enough to know this was definitely un-Peach-like style talk. My thought was to turn the game off right there but by then sheer curiosity had took over and I kept playing. I kind of wish I hadn't.
I went three minutes uninhibited, then all of a sudden the game made this weird as hell day-to-night shift. Hold the heck on!!! Day-to-night shifts wasn't even discussed in this time period! This was the dawn of 3-D platforming. Suddenly, a 3-D Peach appeared in front of me. But this wasn't Peach. It couldn't have been. She had these curved haunting eyes and was floating in her Super Mario 2 style. What came next had me rethinking playing videogames for days and days.
There was no text box. This was a voice clip. A very sad sounding voice clip.
"You have failed me Mario. You have failed the Mushroom Kingdom"
Suddenly the music just STOPPED. Then I was suddenly in the water, but with NO LAND IN SIGHT. It was an all black area with me in water and nothing in sight. WHY HAVEN'T I TURNED THIS GAME OFF YET?!? To this day I still can't answer this question. I just swam for about 5 minutes, and every once in a while I'd hear that faint coin sound. Next thing I heard sounded like a mix between superloud screaming and superloud laughter. This went on for about 15 seconds, and then nothing. Then the fish came and ate me and that was it. Instead of the Bowser laughing face animation, it had another twxt box.
"And so ends the sad tale of Super Mario, as the ghosts of Princess Peach, Mario, and Yoshi continue to haunt the castle."
Then the end credits started to roll with this sad dounding Zelda-esqe theme. Then everything suddenly started to make sense. Why Peach was so spectral in this game. Why Yoshi's one appearance was on top of the castle and he seemed to just disappear into the distance. Even the dark nature of the game to begin with. Mario was SUPPOSED to die in this game. The plan for Nintendo must have been to reintroduce a dark tone for the Mario series with the dawn of 3-D, maybe even paving the way for Luigi to be the new hero. They have actually been making attempts for quite a while to bring Luigi in the spotlight with cryptic games like Mario is Missing. However, something must have happened to force Nintendo to rethink this, probably dealing with sales.
All this was going through my mind during the end credits. Then afterwards something WEIRD happened.
I was Mario again. Except this time I was no long in "Big Small" land. I was on the endless stairs. Except that it was endless both up AND down. So I started running up the stairs for a while, and after a while I took my finger off the controller, he was still running.
The scary part: He's always running. Even if I turn it on now, he's still running as if he never stopped. The game is unplayable now because it's stuck there. Sometimes if I listen closely enough I might hear a faint Bowser laugh or even something that sounds eerily like the Smash announcer. I think I even saw Peach float above Mario for an instance once, but the game has been stuck on that part ever since, so I don't even touch it anymore. I just wish I could bring myself to get rid of it, but for some reason I can't...
DA END

Huh. That ending was really creepy. The beginning was just as badly written as the previous. It was a lot more interesting, though.

I_love_Inuyasha1 Speak of the devil. This guy overused unsettling! The caps killed it for me. It's not very well-written. Well, this is 4chan we're talking about. It's kinda like watching a horror movie from the 70's. The next one I don't feel like copypasta-ing, since someone put it into an image. Hold on whilst I upload that.
