As a matter of fact, nudeness is the standard of the christian religion in forms of representation. People who go to god are nude, as are angels as far as I remember. If anything, I think one of the few clothed people from historical reference is God himself, if even him. However, it's all a matter of context and such. Not to mention obviously clothes are needed in certain places due to the climate. xd
That aside, there's nothing wrong with viewing or enjoying the human form. It's just an iffy subject. After all, it's really a matter of context. What is art to one person, is the degrading fantasy of another. The very innocence you see in a painting could be seen by a young and impressionable person and twisted within their sexually starved minds. History has shown us over and over that such things are possible.

The anime thing really took it out of me. I hate angsting to get a point across. gonk

It's only an iffy subject in a matter of culture, Dusty. North America, Europe, and Asia, the very large 'civilized' continents of the earth all regard sex as a taboo subject. Don't tell the kids that the man has a p***s and a woman has a v****a. Oooh, scarey, scarey.
I've noticed a sort of patern throughout the history of this planet, regarding sex and nudity. During the Greek and Roman era, I think anyways, it was totally normal for some guy to waltz around his place naked and invite guest over. It was normal for a large amount of people ot attend public bath settings. Fast forward a little bit and you have the Victorian era. Oh no, sex is a baaaad thing! Horrible, horrible thing!! That's when people wore like nine different sets of clothes just to cover their bodies. And showing an ankle would be, during that time, equal to some random girl walking down the street wearing a bikini. That sort of belief has lasted until the last twenty or thirty years where it's gradually falling back into the sorta, "Eh? Sex...it's ok." mind set where the youth are being exposed to sexual situations more and more frequently. The taboo regarding sex and nudity is starting to lift off the people. I mean...have you seen those BRATZ dolls they have on the market?! sweatdrop

I do believe I made that comment earlier. Young girls looking like whores these days. Horrifying.
It's more of the fact that Religion has set the mark on what to be worn, and where things need to be covered.
It's why Roman times and Victorian times are so different. No offense, but you can set your own rules, instead of fearing your entire life of some god who's going to put you in hell for wearing that thong. O:
Hell i'm wearing mine, so I guess i'm going to hell. ;D
I need to find something to do that is more productive, it's such a sunny day. biggrin

I'm well aware of that Rin. However, I can't help but make note that the religion everyone hates has endured reform after reform, and still has such a stranglehold on society that it can deny people civil rights. That's not to say I think people should have those rights, but rather that I admire the way something as absent as religion can do such great things. I mean, there are no REAL enforcers of religion in the free world. Aside from friends and family, angels don't really come and smite you for being wicked. It's quite thrilling to know the collective beliefs of people from so long ago would still cause us to persecute without second thought. I love it.
In any case, all will fall before the greatness of the religion. It will do to the uprisers of tday what it did to the romans. F them the right up, and leaving nothing but ruins behind. Of course... there's always the arguement that the world will actually come to an end shortly. whee

Ah, Hell. A place for the weak, truly. I don't plan on going to Heaven or Hell. I'm kicking God in the face, and then it's off to the void with me. I'll serve neither God or some Angel, I'll enjoy the sweet taste of non-existance please. 3nodding

Frankly I'm opposed to the concept of god. This world is too ******** up for there to be some omnibeing up there that can do anything with a wave of his hand.
If I go to hell for not believing in a guy who's done nothing but sit on his high and mighty Alpha and Omega a** then by all means satan can kiss my a**.

None-taken. I find it amusing when people forsake themselves to the pits of Hell. Of course, that's a bit hypocritical of me.

I would rather just live my short life happy and carefree then to have to worry about pleasing a being that might or might not even exist. If he exists? Well all fine and dandy, I'm a good person more or less. I mean I don't go murdering people, I don't push old ladies down stairs. I've had some problems before but I'm over them now. I'm more or less an upstanding individual (insert multiple people laughing here xd ). If god wants to punish me for not grovling down to him like some kinda mindless cult member, which is what I think all religion is just one giant cult, then so be it smile
Again, no offence to all you religious folk.

Indeed. You shall be punished without mercy.
I really don't get what people don't get about casual religion. I'm not a raving fan of catholicism, but some religions are acceptable. At the very least, the 10 commandments are at least fairly good rules to live by. If not worshipping a god, at least take some time to adopt some morals. After all, we're seeing what's happening to our society without them.
In any case, I think I just have a bad batch of experiences. Nearly everyone I know IRL that violently fights religion is an F-ing retard. Not only that, one of their first and foremost arguements is something sexually related, usually about how religion tries to keep them from sleeping around.
*Sigh*
Smack these horny bastards please, or cut off parts, do something.

Ok, I guess my argument isn't so much against religion, it kinda is but kinda isn't, but it's more against the concept of worshiping god. 10 commandments, be a good person, yea those are all nifty, fine and dandy, but mindlessly worshiping someone who hasn't done anything for the human race since he had his son whacked kinda off sets me.
My argument isn't about sex, WHOA!!! More along the lines of why hasn't he done anything yet? If he's going to end the world he'd best hurry up and end it already, cause this place is fuuuuuuuugged up stressed

Worshipping god is Religion. To have FAITH is alright, but religion is the cult of the masses.
