Rintala Lain? Never heard of it. I'm not really a big anime fan myself. I just like roleplaying. smile How can you say your not an anime fan if you watched the entire series of Eva? You have to pretty much watch all of the episodes to get it. neutral

For some reason my pathetic attempt to explain it conjurs up the first Digimon season. heart Serial Experiments Lain is nowhere near Digimon. Lain is the young girl who discovers that there is another world. The world of the wired. She becomes a member of a big-shot hacker group in the wired, THE KNIGHTS. Wonderful anime, but it drags on, so you have to be quite awake to watch it all the way through. I can see how you can compare them, as they are both set in realworld, and internet, but Lain is all in it's own.

You know what? Police really love to use less than lethal weapons. Like they really enjoy using them. I'm watching this thing on the History channel about police weapons. It's great, they're useing these five in diameter gernade launchers, only they don't shoot gernades they shoot like solid bricks of plastic. xd Not to mention these rapid fire pepper bullet guns. They fire little plastic bullets that explode with this peppery stuff that blinds and chokes the suspect. Or the beanbag 'stun gun'. It's a shotgun that fires little square beanbags. Hehe, it's funny. They say they don't use non-lethal guns, all guns are lethal, but they do use less then lethal guns xd .

Obviously a lot of the anime is going to be censored and whatnot, and the themes altered. After all, two completely different society types. One of which is strongly represented in anime nearly all the time. That's not to say it's wrong, but rather that it has no place in our soceity on an uncontrolled level. You know, have to introduce these things slowly or you get an epidemic.
Sadly to say, in concurrence with anime viewing nearly everyone I know who does so is horribly perverted, and not just by religious standards. I mean, they're seriously self-degrading whores. I'm not sure whether or not being a huge anime fan and pursueing other things like that just fall into an act of rebellion or whatnot, I just know it gives anime viewers a bad image in general. I mean, it's fine to have something a bit odd put into an anime innocently- Because it's funny. However, it's not really funny at all to watch some slut (Man and woman alike) Getting off to drawn people. And no, I don't just mean getting off to Hentai.

Kobei Rintala Oh don't get me wrong, I think I understand it to a degree. The plot just isn't something I can really delve into. Besides it's too main stream, like Inuyasha. Too many people like it, it just bothers me. Eva is Oldschool. You think Eva is mainstream? Yeah right. Eva has been out for almost ten years. Don't dis on something you don't have context on, you only think it's mainstream because it was JUST starting to be aired on Adult swim, that, and just because it has alot of fans, doesn't mean it's mainstream. Eva has alot of fans from years past. If you want to talk mainstream, let's talk about Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Fullmetal Alchemist. I see it enough, and i'm sick of the fact that JUST because it's aired on Adult swim, it becomes popular. D: The little kiddies love to soak up censored material. The most horrifyingly dubbed animes I've seen so far are Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece. One Piece is one of my favorite animes at the moment, it has alot to offer. But nooo, 4Kids! entertainment had to go and butcher it. ******** assholes. I'm a true fan, I watch the fansubs, uncut, and undubbed. mrgreen I'm not trying to dis on anything, Kobei, I'm just saying. After they put it on Adult Swim almost every single anime they air becomes the target for ignorant worship, fanfics, and over all stupidity. The show itself might not be stupid, hell it might be a great anime, but when every ten - fourteen year old thinks he/she is some great expert on the show...well then that's when it starts to bother me.

It doesn't help that the nudity is just as casual as anything else, either. I mean sure it's funny to see a guy fall on a girl in odd places, but there is levels of decency that are stressed and upkept within our society.

sweatdrop There is decency, but you have to understand, religion has made the naked body be censored. I've come to love the human body, and it's shape. Ever seen the Sistine Chapel or pictures of the artwork? They were covered up, because they said that the nudeness was indecent. It's beautiful art, don't go mess up a pinting, just because of censorship. D: Clothing is a mere way to express ones self, and many a culture express themselves differently. Heck, steakers get the point across. xd

Oh, and sorry for all of the arguing, I don't like it when people try and cause drama. Noone needs that, especially the guild I roleplay in to get away from my real life worries. 3nodding
