Drow are paranoid, sneaky, double dealing, triple meaning when they talk, pains in teh arse.
this is why no one trusts a drow.
Tier'dal are sneaky, arrogant, calculating. the double dealing is mostly a side effect. not quite paranoid, but overly cautious.
that's why they aren't trusted.
Tarathiel does things in huge, roundabout ways, reffered to as 'playing games' with people, tries to keep every possible meaning of his words intact, and generally cause chaos and trouble. which is why Tarathiel will bring an army to a duel, or manipluate ten people to get one thing done.
Malik does things in a straight forward manner, though he usually has a backup plan or a secondary reason for doing certain things. he counts on his strengths and his determination to see him through.
Tarathiel is the alpha in a wolfpack. he has to watch himself from the other wolves and get things done.
Malik is a tiger. he travels on his own path, and deals with nothing but his own needs.

Too busy perfecting how that damn Andalian rune system workings and running him through one on one and then mass scale battles to think about a small group one, let alone competant opponents.

Andalian rune casting is similar to enchanting in DnD.
similar in the way that the magic functions.

Note that in questioning, I'm trying avoid a fight.
Are you saying that Tara's sword can and is draining the effect of Sevilin's runes?

The classification of plants originally used characteristcs of the speices to classify them into families and clans. Similar plants got grouped together.
Recent genetic information has proven that many plants have been placed in the wrong clan or family. Similarity was not accurate in ascessing the plant.
edit
Yep. mana disruption. ((it be temporary, the energy is drain but could be restored))
edit:
It doesn't necessarily destroy the runes, the energies are manipulated to cease functioning... ((dispelling sword/wizards spike/wizard slayer.))

In other words, you're living in the mind of your players at the moment and they don't know exactly how specific Andalian runes are.
Therefore, we're not going to fight over what I'm about to mention/do. Right?

How big are these creatures exactly? Are we talking mega wolf or normal sized?
Pony-sized. Yay for answering my own question.
