 "Well, at least I'm not the only one, then." Quilo looked around. Most of the students were filing out now, loaded down with prizes, and the stalls were closing up. Panic suddenly gripped him as he tried to find one, even one, that had not yet closed down. He pointed to the beanbag toss. "What about that one? C'mon, I think it's still open!"
He raced towards it, dodging in between other students and the occasional adult with a handcart. Upon reaching the beanbag toss, the adult shook their head. "Sorry, we're closing up."
"Just two tosses!" he said breathlessly. "One for me and one for my friend, I swear, just let us try!"
"I've already put the prizes away..."
"Please?" He opened his eyes as far as they could go. "I didn't know about this party until a little while ago, so I didn't get to play many games, and it looks like you worked so hard at your game."
The adult hesitated, then sighed. "Alright," they said. "One toss for each of you." They handed him a beanbag.
He smiled at them, shook their hand--which startled them--and turned back to the boards. With a look of intense concentration on his face, he tossed the bag.

The bag bounced off of the board.
"I'm sorry, sweetie," the adult sighed.
Quilo also sighed. "It's okay," he said. "Hey...it was worth a try, right?" He tried not to sound disappointed. He was really bad at games, wasn't he?

 Tarin nodded and quickly hurried after Quilo. She watched him manage to puppy dog eye the shop keeper into letting them play real quick and she hid a smile. She'd seen Sari pull that same kind of move on both Rosie and Sil. She wondered if that was a Geist thing...but then again Rosie had some pretty good puppy eyes...hmm...she would have to think about that later. She had always figured that her eyes were really too narrow to pull off puppy eyes effectively. You really needed wide expressive eyes like Quilos...but then again Sari's....
She let that train of thought derail as a beanbag was placed in her hand. She aimed and let it fly~.==================== Her bag thwacked pitifully on the floor, far short of any goal.
Tarin let out a little huff and then looked over at Quilo. "Looks like this wasn't the game for either of us." she considered and then gave him a hug. "But at least we both got something, right? So not a total loss!" she pulled back and gave him a big smile, her freckles lighting up a bit. "Come on, let's go play!" she said grabbing his hand and dragging him off towards the exit.
