Dante pulled the car into the driveway. You could see shadows moving in front of the window, since the lights inside were so bright. The curtains moved as someone peeked out the window. Who ever it was, opened out the door, and walked towards the car. It was Mark and he looked a upset. Dante looked at Victoria and told her to wait while he talked with his friend. Dante got out of the car and closed the door as Mark came closer. He put his arm around his friend's shoulders and they took a few steps forward.
Dante talked quietly. "What happened?" Mark shook his head. He looked down at the ground while he talked. "Nothing happened. It's just talk amongst people." Dante was curious. "What kind of talk?" Mark looked back at the house. "About how you're handling this Aria situation. Some of the ones in the group don't think your handling it right." Dante looked at him in the eyes. "Which ones?" Mark was a little hesitant to tell him. "I-it's Robert and Willie." Dante looked back at the house and back at Mark. "So those dipshits think they have a better plan. They don't even know the situation." Dante paused and pondered his thoughts. "Hmmmm. I'll handle it Mark, don't worry. Are you coming back inside?" Mark looked back at the house. "I gotta get home. Plus I told them that I was leaving for the night, so I could come talk to you. They think my mom pulled in the driveway." "Alright. Thanks for the info. Be safe and take this. Use it on a cab." he handed Mark some money and patted him on the back.
Mark started walking and disappeared in the night. Dante walked back to Victoria's door and opened it. "Sorry about that. Shall we go inside?" he said as he offered his hand to help her out of the car.

Aria half smiled.
"Yeah."
She stood and fixed her shirt, as it was trying to expose her belly. She then re-zipped her jacket.
"Well -ahem- I'm sure you have alot of important stuff to do, sooo..." she trailed off, not really knowing how to end the sentence.

Daren titled his head and stared at her curiously. He shook his head and dug his hands deeper into his pockets. "Actually, I'm free all night." His mother could wait. He walked forward, past her, and to the front door. He opened the door of the shop for her, holding it open, the bell ringing, announcing they were leaving. The cashier shouted, "Thank you, come again." Daren nodded at this statement, and waited for Aria, glancing back at her. Victoria watched them through the front windshield and frowned when Dante had a tense position with his body after the boy talked to him. She waited a few more minutes and suddenly they were saying good-bye. Disappointed she had not caught anything of the conversation, she saw Dante coming around and opened her door for her. He stuck out a hand, and, feeling formal, she stepped out of the car, her flat white tennis shoes scraping the pavement. She let go of his hand immediately, her face red now, and she glanced up at the house, the lights bright against the dark of the night.

Dante walked up the driveway and up the steps. He turned around and nodded at Victoria to let her know they were going to go inside. He opened the door, and looked around the room. He made eye contact with Robert and Willie who happened to be sitting next to each while talking. He stared practically into their souls until they became a little nervous. Dante wanted this. He wanted to intimidate them. He made his way further inside to let Victoria in. He walked into the living room that branched off of the foyer and was greeted by Xavier.
"Look who showed up. Oh and he wasn't lying about bringing someone." Xavier said as he gave Dante a strong handshake. "Yeah I showed up, but not for long. We'll be leaving in about twenty minutes or so." Dante said. He loudly cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. Everyone got quiet and looked at him and Victoria. "Everyone this is Victoria." The group of a bout five people looked at her and greeted her with friendly hellos. "So where will you two be going so soon?" Xavier interestingly asked. "Well sir. I plan on taking her out to dinner tonight." Dante said. "Dante the gentleman?" Xavier said confused. He peeked over to Victoria, "What ever you've done to him...keep it up. Maybe he's finally learning to play nice with people." He laughed and walked away while saying, "Enjoy yourselves while you're here. Relax and have a good time."

"Oh well, uh me too."
Aria though about the talk she really needed to have with Dante. He's probably partying it up with Victoria right now.. she thought.
"I don't have anything to do either."

Daren laughed at her nervousness and fumbled around his mind for something to say. He finally ran a hand through his hair, and stuck his hands back in his pockets after she came out the door. They started walking on the sidewalk and a breeze ruffled their hair. He shivered and glanced at her and then down at the pavement. "Look..I heard there is this party tonight..and..I figured it would look kind of weird going by myself..so..do you want to, uh..come?" He finally asked, his words a little stumbled. He took a deep breath and stared into her eyes now, pleading. It was time he needed some fun.((It could be the same party as where Victoria and Dante are..?)) Victoria came inside after he gestured her in and watched as he said her name. She flushed and glanced around, surprised at how small the party was. She took a deep breath and heard Dante say something about taking her to dinner. At this, her face grew worse in color and she glanced away from the people, hating this but wanting to make Dante happy. She glanced up when one of Dante's friends spoke to her. She gave a small smile. She hadn't done anything to Dante. He had already been nice and sweet when she met him. She stared at the floor after the guy left, and waited for Dante to do something. She felt out of place here, not at all like she belonged.

Dante started to walk and nodded towards the living room. He walked by Robert and Willie. "You two look a little nervous. Care to explain why?" Dante said as he sat down on the couch across from them. He patted the seat next to him as he spoke to motion to Victoria.
"Nervous?" Willie said as he fixed his shirt and collar. "Why would we be nervous?" He asked as he looked at Robert. "That's why I'm asking you dipshit. How am I supposed to know why you're nervous?" Dante said as he leaned back. Willie looked at Robert. Robert got this look on his face and Willie turned back, "I think it's the tension that's got to us." He checked his watch. "W-we gotta go Dante. I gotta be to work in a while." They got up and walked out the door.
Dante watched as they walked away. After they left a few of his friends offered the bottle of whiskey that was being passed around. Dante started to reach for it, looked at Victoria, but shook his head no to the two. Xavier came out of the kitchen and took a seat next to Dante. He leaned forward and offered Victoria a glass of coke by putting it on the table and said, "Don't worry. There's no alcohol in it. Plus you don't look like the type that drinks anyway." Xavier leaned back and started talking to Dante.
"So what's up man? Things took a turn for the worse and all you do is watch it happen. That's not the Dante that I know." "Well what am I supposed to do X? It's not like I can go searching the streets for her. Plus she never wants to see me again." Dante said. "Well you never know until you try, right?" Xavier said as he took out a cigar. "Veto will get what's coming to him sooner or later. So don't worry." Dante said as he lit the cigar for him. "He already got what was coming for him, and that was Aria. You gotta get her back man." Xavier took a few short drags off the cigar. "Why do we have to talk about this Xavier? Why can't we just relax and forget about it?" Dante said as he shifted in his seat. "Because man. She's family and you can't let this happen again. You can't let Veto hurt another friend." Xavier said. Dante looked Xavier in the eyes. "You think I let that piece of s**t kill Alex?" "Well you didn't stop Alex from going up to his goons did you? You knew that it wouldn't end well and you let him do it. You should've went up to the guys. They were messing with YOUR friend, not Alex's." Xavier set the cigar down. He knew that Dante was going to snap. Dante stood up. He looked at everyone. "Is this what you all think?!? You guys ran away like a bunch of cowards, while I stayed and defended Alex." Dante took a step towards a guy on the ground. He snatched him up. "What do you think I should do?"
The guy scrambled but couldn't get away. "I-I think you should go find her D." Dante threw him to the ground. "Fine. I will. And when I do and she runs to him again, don't expect me to be the hero." Dante calmed down and offered Victoria his hand. He was now the gentleman that she knew him as. "Are you ready?" he said. "We're going to leave and have a nice dinner. I'll look first thing in the morning for Aria."

Victoria took a sip of the coke but put it down after a few minutes, hearing their talk of Aria. She wrinkled her nose at Dante's friend's cigar. She hated those things, they could kill you. She hoped Dante didn't smoke. She watched as Dante got worked up and she winced, knowing this was all of her fault, she had made Aria mad. How could she? Ruin their relationship like that? She saw Dante extend his hand out to her and she took it, standing up. She headed towards the door, glad to have an excuse to leave. She quietly said to Dante, "Are you okay?" She felt stupid then, because he obviously wasn't.

He opened the door and walked outside. "Yeah I'm fine. I just don't understand why they think it's my fault. It's not like I told her to go back to Veto. It's not like I told her to start having feelings for him again. I just don't understand." He lead her to the car. He walked around to his side and got in. He started it up and turned off the radio. "So do you want to go to dinner, or no?" he asked.

Victoria got in the car quickly. She could tell he was frustrated, but she didn't know what to say or do about it. She sighed and then quietly said, "It's not your fault..it's mine. I made Aria mad and she took it out on you." She looked out the window and heard his question. "If you...want to." She turned back to him and blushed. "Just as a friendly thing...right?" Scared of the answer, she stayed quiet, her eyes wide and afraid as she stared at him.

"Yeah just as friends. What type of guy do you think I am?" he chuckled at his question. "And it's not you're fault. We argued before she even saw you after work the other day. I jumped on her case about her going back to Veto and it didn't go that well."
Dante backed out of the driveway. He headed towards the local Italian restaurant in town. "Do you like Italian food?" he asked as he drove down the road.

((Sure works for me ^-^))
"Sure. I mean, since you don't wanna go by yourself."
Aria walked beside Daren in silence. She really didn't know what to say or how she should start a conversation, so she decided to take the easy route.
"So what do you like to do? Like in general."

Daren smiled at her and then ran a hand through his hair, thinking carefully about an answer for her question. "Um..not much. Work for my dad..play guitar.." He stopped at this and glanced down at the sidewalk, blushing. He hated when people knew he liked to sing, it was actually really weird, in his opinion, for a boy to sing. He continued though, not wanting to make a big deal out of it. "Mow lawns, walk dogs, things like that. I'm not that rich, but I do what I can." He grinned and glanced at her before stopping and looking up at the cars passing.Victoria let out the breath she was holding and satisfied at his answer, nodded. She listened to his story about Aria and frowned. Veto? Was that the guy that had attacked her at the jewelry store? He had a gang. Warning bells went off in her head and her eyes widened as she asked, "Aria has liked this guy before?" She hoped that she didn't like him now, because it was dangerous for her to be around his kind of people.

"She didn't just like him, but she also dated him. So she used to hang out with all of those fools. She left him after Alex was killed. Apparently she still has feelings and still wants to be around him." Dante stopped at the light. He took out his phone and was going to text Aria but he hesitated. The light changed to green and they were off again. He handed his phone to Victoria, "Can you text Aria for me? Tell her to call me ASAP."

Victoria listened to this and made a face. Bad choice, she thought. She took the phone into her hands, surprised, and blushed, not knowing how to. She glanced at the numbers and add ons carefully, and finally texted slowly,
Call me ASAP.
Satisfied with herself, she glanced down the screen and hit, "Send". Proud, she handed it back to him and smiled at him, wishing she had a phone. It wasn't necessary. She leaned back in the seat and watched the lights go back in a flash.
