I always liked "Bumbles bounce."

So a five-hour drive puts you where, Pirhan? And for how long? Cats are not too bad to travel with, as long as they have their carriers. I'll have to get a moving truck for the big white dog if we ever move. He's huge.

We always do the moving ourselves since the trucks are not hard to drive at all---and that saves some serious $$$$$, depending on how far you're going. One year, one of my sisters and her huband and children made a move from Idaho to Illinois at this time of year, arriving with ice, and a frozen coyote, all over the truck! Ah, the Navy life....... They spent ten days here and the coyote was still on the truck when they left!

Just finishing up last-minute handmade gifts and wrapping and boxing them to ship this morning, then the usual big weekend cooking for everyone for the week ahead. It's final exam time, three in college are pretty busy with work and studying, and looking forward to break. Saw my aunt that I haven't seen in over twenty years over the Thanksgiving holiday, which made me happier than I could ever say! Took a load of wood to my Dad the other night, had two flats and ended up taking five hours for what should have been a two-hour trip, but everything got accomplished and they are warm! God is good. Dad has been in the hospital four times this year. I'm happy to take him whatever he needs, just for a hug.

I'm wearing a thermos, a t-shirt, a fuzzy sweatshirt and then another thick fall sweatshirt. scarf and a knitted hat. This is all in the dorm room. >.<

I'm in the greater Toronto area - so southern Ontario. With the in-laws. It's okay, not ideal. Best part is that there is a Whole Foods thirty minutes away and our cafe choices aren't limited to Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Here until spring then we'll drive west. The roads are really sketchy in the winter.

My mother in law has two brand new couches. She has them covered because of the cats. She was so worried I'd be mad and angry with her. Lol. I told her the cats aren't couch cats. I guess we didn't have proper couches in the past. Because they are.

Why did they have a frozen coyote?

In other news, my cell phone contract was up. So I got a new phone. I feel bad because there's nothing wrong with my old phone. But it's just that - a phone. I went and paid $49 for an Android smartphone so I can do other things with it. It's pretty cool. I got a calorie counting app to track how much I eat, which apparently isn't much. Oops. sweatdrop

I'm glad you're parked for the winter, Pirhan. I wouldn't want anyone to drive across Canada during the winter. It gets dangerous enough right here! They picked up the coyote driving through the Rockies somewhere, in the dark, and weren't even sure that they had hit it until they stopped for gas.

Went to the dentist today to get a filling.....I love going to the dentist! My head totally clears up in the office within 5 minutes! No livestock there, no cats, dogs, or birds there, and my nose is instantly appreciative. I was almost late because I was seduced by a spectacularly beautiful 360-degree sunrise------every pink-to-orange color you can imagine, with that nearly-blinding sun and golden highlights on the edges of the clouds. I could not have had a bad day after that!

Today while I was giving my little marimo a bath...IT BROKE! a dinky little piece of it broke off. Oh...Now it's holy. ;D Trying to decide whether or not I want to rub it back into the big one or roll it into a baby marimo.

I spent most of the day being depressed over how racist people can be.

Don't let anyone have that much control over your spirit, Esiris. Some people are so small-minded they always have to find a problem with everyone else in order to make themselves feel superior, and that can be anything, not just skin color. The bottom line is that the only person you have any control over in this world is you, so just be a person that you would want to have as a best friend----be good!

I have had the great privilege in my life of becoming friends with people from all over the world, every color of the ethnic rainbow. We have had such fun together! Although experience influences how we feel about this or that "group" (someone I knew turned out to be a very bad person), the goodness or badness of a person is something we experience on a personal level, not as a group. Honesty, integrity, generosity, kindness come from the soul of a person, and although we are influenced greatly by the environment in which we were raised, we all reach a point where we can see the world as it is, and that includes the people in it. As one of my daughters said, "Don't waste your time being sad. You'll regret it later." Every day is a gift. Open it. And share!

So, what did I do? Lots of running the past couple of days, trying to get everything ready for the sub-zero weather that is coming, and the holidays. Have to get hay this morning and fill water jugs, already have the heater in the wellhouse, so hopefully the water will not freeze.

What did I buy? Found a great sale on wire dog crates yesterday and picked up three of them for less than the large one usually costs on sale (still can't find anything large enough for the Great Pyrenees, and he usually gets too hot in the house anyway).

What did I make? Thought I was finished with the hatmaking and such, but someone I know needs something warm, so it's back to the knitting and crocheting.....and the usual weekend laundry and cooking, etc. I haven't gotten the Christmas tree up yet! but Mannheim Steamroller is playing and it's time to get started on cookies!

What did I learn? That I really DO make a difference in this world.
And that driving with Mannheim Steamroller blasting is not conducive to keeping the speed limit. wink

I learned how to make a soda tab bracelet, and now I'm stashing up colored ones from friends' energy drinks to make a rainbow one. smile

I also got my solar charger for my android recently!

Today my sister's pet rat died...4 years old its not that big of a deal so i'm not sad about it. Plus its like her 3rd pet rat...and they all live for 3-4 years.

The last couple of day's what have i done...picked up a christmas tree, decorated the house and the tree, enjoyed some cookies that they made while i was sleeping from noon to 6pm (messed up sleep schedule much?)

Worked a couple of ridiculously odd shifts at work because they needed me and i needed the money, Bought my mom her christmas present (new fabreware sheet pans for baking because hers are very very old) Bought myself a new video game and a new hiking bag, and tonight i'm hanging out with some friends and possibly going out to shop for my sister's christmas present.
