Luke walked inside and headed to his room. He had to do some more research on ice dragons. He wanted to take the best care of Kaitani and that needed research. So the wolf went to his room and grabbed some blackboards, chalk, and mounds of books. And he began to read, making notes on his boards as he read.

Kaya was sitting on her bed, the classwork she'd assigned in front of her and a pen in hand. One of the piglets was in her lap as she graded some rather horrible answers with a wince. They were studying dragons as a beginning, and she was just glad they were just starting out. Frustrated, finally, she removed the baby pig from her lap and headed to the dining hall

As Kaya made it, a few maids were carrying trays full of food. They were talking to each other, occasionally struggling. "Wow! Lord Luke must be studying extra hard! He always gets hungry when he's concentrating on something, but he's never ordered THIS much before!" one of the girls said after passing Kaya, the other girls nodding in agreement.

Kaya's ears caught Luke's name, and she turned, watching the maids. Quickly, she caught up to them and frowned. "You seem to be carrying so much. Would you like some help?" she offered, really just wanting another chance to talk to the mysterious wolf.

The maids smiled and nodded, handing Kaya a tray. They then guided her to Luke's room and knocked.
Luke jumped at the knock. He used his magic to hide the things on his blackboards. He then opened the door, taking the pen out of the corner of his mouth. "Oh. Thank you. Please just set it on the table."

Kaya ducked her head to avoid being recognized, as she put the tray she carried on the table Luke had gestured to. Though the blackboards were all empty, as Kaya was passing out of the room, she caught sight of a piece of paper with an ancient text she recognized well. She lifted the sheet and tilted her head. "Any particular reason you're reading this?"

Luke looked to Kaya, having put the pen back in his mouth. "Hm? Oh. Just a thing. You seem to have experience with animals. Would you like to help?" he asked, taking the paper.

"Dragons aren't just any animal," she pointed out, but she didn't decline the offer.

Luke thought for a moment before dispelling the spell on his blackboards. All the information reappeared. He let Kaya stay if she liked as he picked his book back up and resumed reading.

"Ice dragons? I'm sure the library has a copy of the book: Arctic Alive by the explorer, Ilsen O'pai. He spent about a year living amongst a clan of ice dragons, and followed the life of one specific hatchling, even."

Luke nodded some to her advice and wrote the title on a board. He then tapped the words and muttered something. The title disappeared and a book suddenly popped into his hand. It was a neat trick he had learned if he needed a book quick. How does one suspect all these other books got there? Once done with the current book he was holding, the wolf moved on to the one Kaya had suggested. Maybe this would help.

Kaya looked over at the boards again and stepped towards the writing. She frowned a little. Why would the weapons defense teacher need to be studying ice dragons? They were interesting, yes, but would that interest really warrant all this research?

Luke continued to read, soon putting the book down and looking at all his notes. He scratched his head softly, still trying to figure out how to care for Kaitani. Sure it helped with the food and behavior studies, but maybe the old wolf was missing something...

Kaya watched Luke's puzzled expression, and she walked to stand behind him, looking down at his notes. "You seem to have not written down their growth, or their human forms, or their powers."

Luke looked to Kaya then back to his notes. He must have completely overlooked that. But it wasn't in all those books he read. Guess it'd be down to old fashioned observation. He then thought more, then addressing Kaya, but not turning to her. "Kaya. Could you keep a secret?"
