"Sure, I don't see why not." Ginji chuckled as he rose from the sand. "What were we doing again?"

"Great..." Ginji sighed as he grabbed his backpack and stood up. This was one long search and rescue mission.

"Let's go." Cody said as he walked along the beach. He sent out Vulpix and Flareon. "C'mon guys. Sniff out Plusle's trial." They both nodded and started to sniff the sand. They both lifted and shook their heads after a couple minutes of sniffing. They hadn't gotten a scent. Either the high tide had washed away the trail or Plusle just hadn't been there. No matter what the circumstances there had been, it would be a long night. He turned to a disappointed Grovyle and said, "We'll find him. Don't worry. I won't let him get too far."

"No worries here." Grovyle looked at Cody sternly and continued, "Neither will I."

"I don't know exactly, but I know for a fact that he started here. This is his favorite place other than..." Cody paused and realized the next place he could be. "Are there any caves around here? The only one that I can think of is the one that we explored that led to those ruins."

Grovyle looked at Cody and replied, "Yeah. Plusle likes to explore and thinks he is tough when it comes to Ground Types. e might find him passed out in a cave somewhere."

"The ruins expedition was a request from Ike. I took Maddy, Reaper, and Sammy with me I believe. This happened about a month ago I think." Cody replied.

Grovyle looked at Ginji. "What did you say about the volcano? Caves at the volcano? Let's go." He grabbed Claydol's pokeball and threw it into the air. "Can you teleport us all at once Claydol?" Grovyle quickly asked.

Claydol nodded and rocked back and forth. Cody closed his eyes and brought up a mental image of the volcano area. The group disappeared suddenly and appeared again in a rocky area. Cody looked around slowly, realizing he hadn't been to this part before. Mini-volcanoes stood about a foot high and randomly spewed magma and smoke. "Ok, everyone keep your guard up. Don't piss off the Ground and Rock types, please. I really don't feel like being ambushed, but feel free to fight as many as you want and catch one. Hopefully, once we get closer to the volcano we will see some Fire and Dragon types."

"Alright." Cody nodded as they headed into the first cave. "Claydol, use Flash down that tunnel. I think I can see the back." Claydol shot a large burst of light down the tunnel. Eventually the light died down and it was dark again. There was nothing. Suddenly a large area lit up in the cave. Cody saw nothing but red eyes opened and stared that stared at him and his pokemon. Cody quickly grabbed his pokeballs, returning Flareon and Vulpix. "Oh s**t!" he shouted as he and Grovyle started to run out of the cave followed by a massive group of Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat. "Ok," he panted. "Next... Cave... Please..."

"Maybe Plusle isn't here." Cody sighed.
Grovyle looked at Cody with a look that could only be described as a "what the hell?" look. His head was cocked slightly to the side and his facial expression was enough to knock you make you fall to the ground laughing. "Don't give me that crap. Plusle is here. Somewhere..."
"Well seeing as how we have explored almost all of these caves, I don't see him." The ground rumbled softly again. Cody realized that the rumbling had gotten stronger each time it had happened. "Oh. That can't be good."

"Damn they left without me!" he said as he brought out his zubat. Zubat came out and fluttered its wings rapidly
"Use your radar to scout for a plusle!" he asked hoping we'd find it first...
