"Thank you," she smiled. "What song is that?" Tora asked.

Ariku thought for a second. "I'm sorry, I don't remember if she told us or not. But it is very beautiful."
She kept the four and four beat with her hand and used her voice to make the song without the shamisen. It sounded perfect. So she had no idea why she couldn't do it with the shamisen.

"That sounded wonderful," she smiled. "Hum. I bet your hands just can get the beat. I know I can't carve anything because of my depth perception," she smiled sheepishly.

Ariku nodded, "That makes sense. I don't have the best hand eye coordination in the world." she said and giggled.
"And thank you. I sang a lot and danced professionaly when I lived in France. So I guess it comes a bit naturally. What about you and you art. Where you ever taught?" she asked politely.

"Just about everyday of my life," she laughed. "From the time I was three-years-old I had my hands and feet in paint," she smiled, remembering her mother. "My mother would put my hands and feet in the paint and let me walk all over a big sheet. She still has my first 'work of art'!" Tora said. "Ever since then, I've loved the texture of paint, the smell, and the way you can blend colors to get another! Paints are like humans, once they're mixed, none are alike. Each has a unique shade, even though it's only a slight difference," she added with a smile.

Ariku giggled and nodded.
"I understand." she paused for a minute. "Tora have you always lived here? I mean, I don't know too much about you." she said hoping she didn't sound rude.

"Yes, I am from here," she smiled. "My Mother and Grandmother were Geisha here as well," Tora added. "I was raised in this life. I've known nothing else and wish to know nothing else," she smiled sweetly. "I love it here," she said. "The singing, the music, the company, everything!" she said with a dreamy sigh.

"Wow, so your family has been here for generations. That is very cool. So probably know more about that geisha then anyone here." she said smiling.
"It must be so good to have someone you can talk to about this life. Because they will actually understand it." she said taking another sip of tea.

"You're so lucky. I had to learn it all on my own. I have noone but my friends to teach me. My family has no geisha in it. Plus I am only half Japanese. On my dad's side. And, on top of all that. My Japanese grandmother told me that because I wasn't Japanese or even born here. There was no way I could ever become a geisha." Ariku said looking down at her tea. She sighed and took a sip.

Keiji sat back and listened to the conversation. He smiled. Surely he'd find someone here in this town. He stared into his tea cup and smiled.

TigerxSky Keiji sat back and listened to the conversation. He smiled. Surely he'd find someone here in this town. He stared into his tea cup and smiled. Hara got up and bowed to Shagatsu saying "Thank You sir... for letting me entertain you this eveing.... but please excuse me".... with this she gave another bow... and made her way over to the man who had just come in a while back.... standing before him she bowed and said "Konnbawa I am Hara Chaiki a maiko I humbly beg your indulgence"... she then looked up and smiled.... Keeping her Golden Green eyed gaze upon him...she took a seat next to him.... so tell me sir what is your name she asked with a smile. post 20

Keiji couldn't help but feel flattered. "If I keep being surrounded by beautiful women, I just might blush," he laughed. "My name is Keiji," he said with a nod and smile.
