I'm not seeing it. Then again, I don't believe in changing my standards for retards. I also don't believe in everyone's right. I'm right. My definition of moderate is the appropriate one. Everyone else can go ahead and suck a d**k. biggrin

Someone wants to say demolishing a whole city block with one prep is moderate well... I mean I guess enjoy your helmet and wheelchair buddy, because you're ******** retarded. That's all there is to it. Dumb ******** probably comes from a whole community of like-minded retards, which is tragic, but that's life.

There's still no need to do so. That's why judges are there. Making rules just to maybe lower revisions by 1 doesn't change anything. Power levels are still too broad in the end. They're based on the character themselves and their combination of capabilities, not on just power level. I say Street Fighter so people can have a reasonable estimation of what we want. Then we tell them what to fix if there is anything to fix. A finer rule would be moot because it's too subjective. The list of what we don't want is good enough. I appreciate the suggestion, but all it does is bloat what people have to read and will not bring any significant increase in quality.

The power level of your character doesn't matter to Vintrict.

He lets in what he wants to let in depending on who you are.

Well, some of the stuff is beyond easy definition.

I wasn't expecting my wall ability to be cut out for example, but it was. My character was going to have the power to make a 5x2x3 rock wall or something like that. Vintrict said it would be inappropriate due to him wanting terrain manipulation to be minimal this year... or something.

That's just revisions though. It's a really fast process if you arrange a time to be online with a judge and just get a fast back and forth going on. The problem is when people take a few days to get back to one another and it all gets bogged down.

Of course examining a characters abilities always must be done on a case by case basis by a group of judges who all have an equal understanding of what the tournament is attempting to achieve. That can only be determined with lengthy discussion on what kind of battles you want to see happen in a tournament.

You can be biased against long range abilities because you want your characters to mainly stay in close, but you don't outright restrict long ranged abilities.

You can be biased against bladed or edge weapons or powers that mimic or reproduce their effects, if you aren't going for high lethality. Blunt force trauma may be more acceptable than flame.

Though even this can be derailed when your main judge is selective on his profile tweaks based on previous experiences with the individual.
