"Ike, I finally finished my Halloween's Hallways Mission. Plus I needed to see if you can approve my Treecko's evolution." Cody said as he waved to Ike.

Ike first turns to Cody. "Send me a PM with what page number it's on and I'll check it out later. I actually won't be around here a lot today, but I promise I'll grade it this evening." he said. "As for Treeko, your profile says she has only 2 special missions under her belt. I can't approve it unless you can prove she's had the training." he said. He then turned to Reaper. "Buizel can evolve." he told him. He then turned to Maddy. "A few years ago I found ruins inside the tallest mountain on the island. Since then I havn't been able to find the entrance. Think you guys could go find the entrance?" he asked everyone. "It's a bit of a hike."

"Yup, Sai can." Ike said said to Maddy. "The hike to the ruins takes you through the grasslands. I remember the path was marked by tall stones with carvings in them. You should end up in the mountains and at the base of the tallest mountain. Get some training in, but if you find the entrance, don't enter it. We'll explore the ruins another day."

MISSION - Halloween's Hallways As a scare for Halloween, travel to the Old Chateau that is hidden in the depths of Eterna Forest. On your way, you will encounter 1 bug maniac with 3 bug-types. Once in the mansion, you will be encountered by ghost types from every which way! Battle your way through 3 ghost-types in the Old Chateau (feel free to catch one!) and find the Dread Plate stashed away somewhere in the mansion. Be on the look out for spirits, though.
Pokemon: Gastly Haunter Rotom
Rewards: x1 Dread Plate and 4000pd
Special Note: This mission will only be available for 1 week. Please keep in mind that Rotom can only be caught at night via an old TV hidden somewhere in the mansion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cody sat in the common room of HQ conversing with Reaper as he was before his last mission. Treecko was out playing with Crawdaunt, and Vulpix was lying on Cody’s lap again. “Hey guys, will you keep it down please? I don’t want Vulpix to wake up. Treecko, you know what she will do to you if you wake her. Remember last time? You don't want to go through hell AGAIN do you?” Treecko stared at Cody and shuddered at the thought. He had the honor of waking Vulpix up once before and never wanted to do it again. All of a sudden, Cody’s TADS started to vibrate. It took him a moment to realize it, but when he did its location scared him. The phone was in his pocket, underneath Vulpix’s head and it wouldn’t stop vibrating! “No! Please no!” he whispered to the phone. He tried to move his hand swiftly into his pocket to get it, but the movement only made things worse. She was starting to shift and turn in her sleep. “Oh God no! Not again!” Cody feared the moment she woke up. He managed to maneuver his hand through his pocket and grasp his phone without waking the sleeping beast. As soon as he grasped it, the vibration stopped. “That figures. It happened last time.” Now, the tricky part. He had to maneuver his hand BACK out of his pocket without waking Vulpix and hoped the vibrations didn’t start again. Cody slowly moved his hand to the outer edge of his pocket and tried to slide by Vulpix’s face, but as soon as he thought he was in the clear Vulpix moved again, landing right on top of Cody’s hand. “Damn it. This is going to happen again” Cody swore as he tried to lift the pokemon’s head just enough to slide his hand out. Just as the last word rolled off his tongue, Vulpix awoke in a fiery rage. She spit flames everywhere, almost scorching the couch and Cody’s hair. He quickly grabbed her pokeball with his free hand and returned her. Now to check the message. “This better be good.” He was expecting another mission, but instead it was only a chain letter. All of a sudden Ike ran into the room and posted a mission. Cody walked up to the board and read it aloud.
“MISSION - Halloween's Hallways As a scare for Halloween, travel to the Old Chateau that is hidden in the depths of Eterna Forest. On your way, you will encounter 1 bug maniac with 3 bug-types. Once in the mansion, you will be encountered by ghost types from every which way! “A special mission huh? Nice Halloween theme too. Nice work Ike.” Cody said as he walked to his room. He grabbed a couple things, stuffed them in his bag, put his pokeballs on his belt and walked out into the common room once more. He sent out Claydol, expecting to teleport, but realized he had never seen the Old Chateau before. He couldn’t teleport if he had never seen the place before. He couldn’t get a mental image and if he tried he would probably end up in the wrong spot halfway across the world. He decided to take the easy route. He brought up a mental image of the Eterna City Bike Shop and disappeared.
He soon found himself in the air and falling quickly. Cody landed on the ground in a back alley next to a dumpster. He got up and wiped himself off. “Ow. That hurt.” He said to Claydol. “You did it right the first time. What happened?” Claydol just shrugged and floated in circles. “Whatever.” he said and left the alley. The sun struck Cody hard and forced him to make a visor with his hand. “This sun sets brighter and brighter every time.” Cody admitted to Claydol. Again all the pokemon did was shrug his shoulders and spin in circles. “You better return before you make me look like a complete retard in front of all these people.” Cody held out a pokeball and returned the hovering pokemon. He whipped out his TADS as he walked into the street. The time was 7:08 PM. As he returned it to his pocket, it vibrated. He immediately brought it back out and opened it, revealing a message. He didn’t recognize the number so he blew it off. He started walking until it hit him, literally. A random pain in his gut spread all over his torso. He dropped to the ground and sent out Claydol and Croconaw. Claydol was hit with what seemed to be a Hydro Pump, and Croconaw, blindsided with a Thunderbolt to the back. He slammed into the closest building and made a crater in the brick. They both recovered and looked around. Cody managed to return to his feet, only to be knocked down again with a hard hit to the back. Croconaw shot a random water attack into the air as Claydol was hit again with another Hydro Pump. The pokemon got up and used Mirror Coat, making a Starmie fall from the roof of the building.
A red light absorbed the pokemon and Misty, the Cerulean City Gym leader, stepped to the edge, being careful not to fall. Beside her, stepped Volkner, the leader of the Sunyshore City Gym, with his Luxray. “Guys! Oh my God! I can’t believe you’re here! But why?” Cody had a longer stream of unanswerable questions, but felt they should be saved for later. “Misty, have you seen Togetic lately?” he asked. “You have a Togetic?” Volkner asked. “I had a Togetic. I released it a while ago for reasons I can’t explain. Cody knows the story. Anyways, to answer your question Cody, no I haven’t. It has been a long time. She visited me at the gym randomly a couple months ago, but had to leave. I haven’t seen her since.” Misty replied. “Oh, I’m sorry. At least you got to see her though,” Cody tried to make her feel better. The two jumped down from the roof of the building and landed perfectly next to him. “So are you guys here to accompany me to the Old Chateau?” “I don’t see why not,” Volkner replied. “Sure,” Misty added. This is only my second time in the Sinnoh region. I might as well make it worth my time.” “Ok then, let’s go,” Cody said in an encouraging tone. He returned his pokemon and headed in the direction of the Pokemon Center. He walked next to Misty with Croconaw at his side. He looked down at his pokemon and realized the two Gym Leaders were holding hands. He shook it off and thought nothing of it. The group entered the Pokemon Center and walked directly up to the counter. No one was at the counter so Cody rang the bell twice. A Blissey soon walked out by itself. “Where is your Nurse Joy?” Cody asked politely. A deep voice came from the back room. “Be right out.” “What the...” Cody was shocked.
Had Nurse Joy had a sex change? A familiar figure appeared from the room moments later. It wasn’t Nurse Joy, but it was still very familiar. Brock, from Pewter City, stepped out with a Chansey at his side. Cody looked at Misty, then Volkner, then back to Brock. Three gym leaders all in one Pokemon Center? That was unheard of. He was speechless. All three of his best Gym Leader friends in the same place at the same time. “Nice to see you dude,” Cody said as he handed Brock his pokeballs. He looked back at Misty and Volkner sitting on a bench together. They both shook their heads as if they knew what he was going to ask. Brock returned to the back room. Cody waited at the counter with Blissey until the Gym leader came back out. He handed Cody his pokemon without a word and gave a small smile. “Sorry, but I have to get back to work. I have tons of sick pokemon in the back and the baby pokemon are going nuts.” He said as he returned to the back room for the final time.
The group waited at the pokemon center until dark. The time was 11:53 PM and the streets of Eterna City were empty. The lights were on and the moon was out, but that wouldn’t last much longer. As they approached the entrance to the forest, their supply of available light was diminishing. All they had now was the full moon to guide them through the forest. “Who’s going first?” Misty asked. “I guess I am, but shouldn’t we all go in together?” Cody replied. Volkner got behind Misty and pushed her into the forest behind Cody. As they got deeper, the light from the moon had become unusable. It was almost pitch black in their part of the woods and Cody could hear bug pokemon crawling around the forest floor. The forest opened up directly ahead of them. Lots of light shone in due to the lack of trees in this area. As the group got closer to the patch of light, Cody could barely make out the shape of a building. He slowed down to maybe get a glimpse of the area around it, but couldn’t see anything through the trees. As he kept walking, the amount of vegetation grew smaller. The trees got farther and farther apart until there was nothing but open space and a large rundown mansion in front of them. A figure stood tall and looked off the balcony at the three travelers. As they approached the building, the figure disappeared back into the house. He looked back at the other two and put a finger to his mouth, hoping they would stay quiet. He walked up the creaky steps to the front door and tried the knob. It was locked and the doors were boarded. Cody sent out Claydol as his first choice. “Use Strength to open these doors,” Cody said to the pokemon.
His eyes quickly turned a dark blue color and a surge of energy shot through his body. The pokemon smashed through the door, sending it flying into the entrance hall. His eyes returned to their normal color and he returned to his pokeball. Cody slowly entered the building, followed by Volkner and finally Misty. Volkner sent out Ampibom, hoping to scare away any Ghost Types. Misty sent out Starmie, hoping for the same effect. “Let’s split up and look for that Dread Plate. I figure it will be in the back somewhere, so Volkner, head back there. Misty, you should probably head to the right since I’m going left.” Cody recommended. The two nodded and headed their separate ways. Cody took the left hallway and was ambushed by two Bug Maniacs.
The two sent out Ariados and Drapion who attacked with String Shot and Thunder Fang. Cody returned fire with Cyndaquil’s Flamethrower and Vibrava’s Sandstorm, stopping both pokemon. Drapion attacked again with Thunder Fang and Ariados with String Shot, paralyzing Vibrava and lowering the team’s Speed stat. Cyndaquil still managed to let off a well executed blow to Drapion with Flame Wheel, knocking the pokemon on it’s back and giving Vibrava a chance to land a good hit with Faint Attack. Drapion managed to get back up and land a clean strike with Ice Fang to Vibrava, immediately freezing it. Cody returned the pokemon and sent out his new baby Eevee, which started off with Sand Attack, lowering the foe Drapion’s accuracy. Cyndaquil launched another Flamethrower and hit Ariados, leaving it with a major health deduction and a burn. Drapion attempted to attack with Thunder Fang again, but missed it’s target, only to be made up by a Psychic attack to Eevee from Ariados. Cyndaquil focused all of its heat into one big Eruption attack and knocked out both of his opponents.
The bug maniacs sent out Dustox and Beautifly who both attacked with Gust, blowing Eevee and Cyndaquil around, but not doing much damage to either one. Cyndaquil hit Beautifly with Flamethrower, almost knocking out right off the bat. Eevee attacked Dustox with Take Down, hitting it hard, but also doing a good deal of recoil damage. The two Bug Types attacked with Silver Wind, still not doing much damage to either pokemon. Cyndaquil shot back with a Swift to Dustox and Eevee hit Beautifly with Shadow Ball, doing a good amount of damage. Both Bug Types used Silver Wind, still not doing much damage, but raised all their stats. A final Eruption from Cyndaquil put them both out.
Getting discouraged, the Bug Maniacs sent out their weakest pokemon, Caterpie and Ledyba. Ledyba used Reflect and raised its team’s Defense and Caterpie hit Eevee with a weak Tackle. Cyndaquil and Eevee both used Dig to burrow underground. Both foe pokemon looked around, confused. “This is pathetic,” Cody said to himself. “Come on up guys.” Both pokemon came up at the same time and KOed their foes. “Good job,” he said. The Bug Maniacs returned their pokemon and ran past Cody. Cody felt his TADS vibrate. It was Volkner.
Hey, I think I found the Dread Plate, but something is blocking it. It knocked out all my pokemon except Ampibom. What do I do? Help.
~V
Cody flipped it open and started typing.
Just stay where you are. Stall it with Ampibom as long as you can. I will find Misty and head to your location. If it is a Ghost Type, it will have a hard time taking on Ampibom so you should be good until I get there.
He sent out Claydol and teleported to the entrance hall of the mansion. Cody started walking down the hallway he sent Misty down when they had arrived and brought out his TADS again.
Hey, where are you. Volkner needs us. He is fighting a Ghost Type that has KOed all his pokemon except Ampibom. We might need you and Starmie to step into battle
-Cody
He put away his TADS and started running, looking in every open room for any sign of Misty or Starmie. He felt a vibration in his pocket and quickly brought out his TADS again. The message on the screen read:
You beat me once, but not this time. You can’t. I’ll be in the…
“What does that mean? Where are you? Damn.” Cody’s Halloween haunt had turned into a complete disaster. “That means Misty has been kidnapped and Volkner is stuck fighting until I get her back.” He continued to run down the hallway, looking for Misty, but came up empty-handed. Eventually he came to the end of the hallway where a door randomly appeared. He touched the knob and immediately was shocked. He looked around for a material he could use to open the door, but found nothing. Claydol, who was floating next to him, looked at him in an awkward manner. He touched the doorknob and turned it without a problem. “I should’ve known. Electricity doesn’t effect Claydol.
Inside the room were an old television set and a rocking chair. That was it. Cody looked around, hoping to find Misty, but realized that was all there was. As soon as the pair entered the room, everything went black. Cody felt he was being sucked into a vortex. “Not again,” he said as the television turned on. He was quickly sucked into the screen. Everything was white. There was no scenery. He wasn’t on a TV show. They were stuck in an eternal white void. Suddenly, Archie’s spirit rose from the floor with Misty at his side. She was knocked out and gagged with a black object that resembled a dirty rag. “Archie? Back from hell so soon?” Cody asked sarcastically. “Hah. You’re funny.” Archie replied. “So you want to save her that bad, do you? Fine! I’ll fight you for her. Winner takes the prize! I will use two pokemon only.” “Two pokemon? How? What are you up to?” Cody demanded.
Archie sent out Mightyena and Cody started off with Chikorita. Mightyena automatically used Sand Attack to lower Chikorita’s accuracy, but she returned the attack with Sunny Day. Mightyena attacked with Bite. Chikorita took the attack and let out a Solarbeam, sending the Dark Type flying. It managed to get up and attack with Bite again. Chikorita used Solarbeam a second time, but missed, due to the effects of Sand Attack. Mightyena launched at Chikorita again and bit down hard on it with Crunch, lowering its Special Defense. Chikorita used Razor Leaf and hit Mightyena, almost knocking it out. The foe launched a Shadow Ball and hit Chikorita, sending it almost to the point of not battling anymore. A final Toxic attack and Mightyena was poisoned. The poison took its toll and KOed the pokemon and the effects of Sunny Day wore off.
Archie brought out his last pokeball. “Let the power of the Legendary Dogs empower this Aurora pokemon and do its bidding once more by destroying this pathetic child.” “I should’ve known you would bring out Suicune, Archie.” Cody shouted as a strong gust blew past him. The void turned black and Suicune was released. Archie laughed maniacally and sent Suicune into battle. Cody returned Chikorita and sent out Swablu. Suicune started off with Clam Mind, raising its Special Attack and Special Defense stat. Swablu managed to get a Perish Song in before being blown away by an Aurora Beam. Suicune’s Perish Count started at 3. Cody sent out Treecko, who attacked with Quick Attack, doing very little damage. Suicune sent out a Blizzard and froze Treecko on the spot. Cody returned his pokemon and sent out Claydol. Suicune’s Perish Count was lowered to 2. It attacked Claydol with Surf, drenching the pokemon. He came back with Earthquake, doing a reasonable amount of damage. Suicune’s Perish Count dropped to 1. It used Hydro Pump and KOed Claydol. Cody sent out Chikorita and used Razor Leaf, before Suicune’s Perish Count finally dropped to 0 and it fainted. The spirit of Archie disappeared and Rotom stood in its place. The darkness vanished and everything was white again.
The Rotom just floated in place and waited for Cody to do something. It knew it had been defeated, but still had some fight in it. “Chikorita, let’s finish this with Razor Leaf. Rotom attacked first with Thunder Wave and paralyzed Chikorita. She was still able to land her attack, Razor Leaf. Rotom attacked with Confuse Ray, confusing her. “Chikorita, use Aromatherapy,” Cody shouted. Chikorita released a sweet scent and healed her paralysis and confusion. Rotom came back with Shock Wave and knocked Chikorita out of the battle. Cody sent out Plusle to fight the foe Electric Type. Plusle attacked first with Thunderbolt, doing a good deal of damage and paralyzing the Rotom. The pokemon tried to attack, but couldn’t move. Plusle attacked again with Thunder, hitting Rotom hard. Cody took the opportunity to throw a pokeball, but after one shake it burst out. Rotom used Ominous Wind, hitting Plusle and raising Rotom’s stats. Plusle used Baton Pass to switch with Vulpix. “Vulpix?” Cody asked. “Ok then, use Fire Blast!” he shouted. Vulpix let out a powerful blast of fire at Rotom and knocked it out.
Everything went black then the room returned. All of Cody’s previous surroundings returned. He was out of breath and sweating. That was a long, hard battle. Taking on copies of the spirits of Archie’s pokemon plus Rotom. He hoped he never saw that pokemon again; then it hit him. Volkner! He turned around and tried to run out of the room, but tripped over something. It was Misty! Cody picked her up and carried her as he ran down the hallway and back into the entrance hall. Now to find Volkner. He ran down the back hallway until he heard the sounds of a battle coming from farther down. He kept running down the hallway and made a left turn onto another. He was following the noise. Volkner shouted his name and he heard a crashing noise. He finally came to the door where the noise was coming from. He touched the knob and again was shocked. Vulpix was standing next to him and looked up. “Burn this door down!” Cody shouted. The pokemon let out an insane amount of fire from its mouth, setting the rotting wooden door ablaze instantly. He sent out Croconaw. “Now stop the flames with Hydro Pump,” he said. Croconaw launched a huge Hydro Pump at the door, putting out the flames. Cody kicked a hole in the door and his pokemon followed. By the time they were done, the door had a hole big enough for him to walk through. “Volkner!” Cody shouted as he walked in. The Gym Leader was lying on the ground, unconscious with Ampibom still fighting two Gastly’s and a Haunter. Croconaw and Vulpix jumped into the fight. Croconaw attacked a Gastly with Water Pulse, confusing the Ghost Type pokemon. Vulpix attacked Haunter with Will-O-Wisp, giving it a nice burn. Ampibom attacked the other Gastly with Iron Tail, hitting it hard and knocking it out after a long battle. “Ampibom, come on back buddy,” Cody called. He amazingly listened and left the battle to stand by Cody’s side. Haunter came back and hit Vulpix with Sucker Punch. Vulpix used Flamethrower and took a chunk out of Haunter’s HP. Gastly put Croconaw to sleep with Hypnosis. Vulpix hit Gastly with Iron Tail, knocking it out as well. Cody returned Croconaw to his pokeball and continued to coach Vulpix through the battle. Haunter attacked with Shadow Punch, doing a good amount of damage to Vulpix. The Fire Type attacked again with Payback and almost KOed Haunter. Cody threw a pokeball at the weakened foe. It hit the Ghost Type and absorbed it in a red light. The ball closed around the pokemon and dropped to the ground. It shook once. Twice. Three times. *Bing* The pokemon was caught. A Dread Plate dropped from behind it. Cody walked over and picked it up. He examined it and read the writing on the back.
Cody turned to the sleeping Volkner and Misty and thought, “How do I wake them up?” he thought to himself. Then he thought, “Ampibom!” He smiled widely. “Ampibom, use Wake Up Slap.” The pokemon hit Misty and Volkner with its tails and brought them back into consciousness. “Guys, let’s get out of here.” Volkner said as he got up. He took a pokeball from his belt and returned Ampibom after thanking him. The group made their way out of the mansion just as the sun was rising. As they walked, Cody looked back at the balcony where he had seen the figure before. Again, it was there, but this time it was waving. Cody waved back and kept walking. Suddenly, Misty jolted. She took her phone of her pocket and opened it. “Ok guys, looks like I have to go. They need me back at the gym.” She started running out of the forest in the direction of Floroma Town. “Hey! Wait for me!” Volkner shouted. “Alright, I will let you go. Thanks for coming and take care of yourself, ok?” Cody told him. “Alright man. Talk to you later.” Volkner said as he took off after Misty. Cody headed to the Eterna City Pokemon Center with the sunrise at his back. Maybe he would take a break from Aqua for a while? Nah. His friends meant to much to him.

"Let's go Treecko!" Cody shouted as he threw Treecko's ball into the air. Treecko emerged and turned white immediately. It started to transform from one form to another and soon a Grovyle emerged. "Thanks Ike!" Cody shouted as he watched him leave.
