She grinned wider.
"Is that a challenge?"
She splashed him back
"Psh posh. Drunk? Tired? Hasn't the coldness taken away both?"
She swam closer to him and gave him a smaller splash.

"Right now I'd rather drift, if you would be so kind." He sanked down into the water tell he floated, bobbing up and down. Then he spread out his arms and legs and drifted on his back.

She grinned again and swam in place.

She smiled

She swam closer to him.

She stopped herself and looked up at the moon

"Yes Cloud, what do you want?" His eyes where closed as his breathing calming came and went, opening his eyes he looked up at the moon and let a small smile spread. "Wonderful isn't it?"

She smiled
"I used to look up at the moon all the time when I was a kid. That seems like so long ago."
She turned back to him and pondered his question. What do you want?

Quin was content to listen to her talk as he looked up at the night sky. It been so long since he'd ever done anything like this. It was hard to remeber the last time he got so drunk, the last time he just drifted in water, or looked up at the sky.

Cloud let out a soft sigh and floated on her back as well. She let her body take on the movement of the ocean. She closed her eyes and simply listened, focusing more on Quintilius' presence than anything else.

"Cloud?" Quin felt the waters beneath him in their movements, "We better get out before the current takes us out to sea." He looked to her waiting for her responce before swiming back to shore.

She opened her eyes and stood up in the water.
"Yeah, good idea. We can still see the moon from the beach anyways..."
She headed up to the sand and lowered herself, lying on a blanket that had probably been left there by one of the day visitors, she didn't think much of it.

He was drenched, his body ached, his mind mentally screamed in agony, but all worries where gone, or at least ones that delt with the here and now, no drifting off to sea on the tide. He yawned and closed his eyes, listening to the waves crash into the shore.

Cloud gently lowered her arm and took Quins hand in her own, hoping he wouldn't pull away as she had happened to her so many times.
She was comfortable here, with him next to her, on the beach, with the waves. The on coming hang over didn't matter, her thoughts didn't matter, her past was gone.
She was....happy.

"But you still haven't given up." When he'd been enslaved, he'd often wished the link would have allowed him to kill himself, rather than go out to fight again. Some times it was 'destroy the enemy troops attempting to intercept the trade caravan', that he hadn't minded more than a little. But sometimes it had been 'kill the general leading the enemy counter attack, and his family and servants'. "So then, how could I?" he sighed, and slowly lifted his head from Mogan's. He paused for a long moment and then kissed her cheek. "You know, it's going to be a long night if we both let ourselves just sit in self pity the whole time. We have some time before the night curse, right? Come on, let's go for a swim again." he said in a lighter tone smiling a little.

Quin woke, his head throbbed and it felt as though its would split in two, whiping his hand across his brow he sat up and looked around. Notcing Cloud still there he smirked. "Ha we drunk ourselves blind." Rising to his feet he carefully picked her up, his body ache in protest, but he had something to do. Carring her back to the women's dorms he laid her in a comfortable position in the first room. He had no idea which room was her so the entrace was the safest bet for a place to put her. "Damn it, I have a duel latter." He muttered to himself as he headed home.
