Day #: 96 Theme: Medium Challenge: Colouring Pencils Time spent:
Comments: I don't use colouring pencils a lot, but this was fun & kinda cool!
You'd never know from this that you rarely use them. o: That's a nice apple. o wo
Side story; I usually draw an apple as the first thing I do when testing new art supplies. And then I always keep them... so I have various drawings and paintings of.. singular apples. XD; But they're so useful since they're pretty simple, but there's still so much shadow and lighting and value in a simple shape to test how the supplies work... ... and personally compare how I felt making that apple vs other supplies.
Day #3 Theme: Mr. APPLe Time spent: Around an hour or less.
Comments: Surprisingly I quite like how this turned out! Didn't as much while I was painting with the alcohol markers (Shuttle Art - they smell so strong!) but during the touch-ups with pastels and white pen, it turned out quite to my liking. Was trying to do a painterly style with the markers but I still have trouble blending with the chisel tips. Thankfully the reference I used for this had those sharp non-blended edges so it was a bit less dissapointing. I do have a very limited palette so I couldn't match up to the colors or get a proper in between shades but I made do with the pastels. Another thing I noticed was that they tend to make the edges blurry-fuzzy and I didn't like that. Easily resolved by adding lineart but I did forget to add to his stem (I fixed it now) so you can see the fuzziness bit better there.
Thank you for adding all your issues you ran into while drawing this. I find it so cool to hear about other artists' thought processes and struggles with the process of creating art.. and the flaws they see in it... because, as a person who didn't draw this, I don't see any of those. I just see "oooOooooOoo~ prettttyyyy" o wo I totally assumed the chunky colors was a stylistic choice and I like them. My favorite part about this is the blue pops of color in the shirt portion. I didn't notice any fuzziness at all so that line art is totally working. I also like how your signature is one with this piece. It feels so professional. XD

Ducky I love your background! The color scheme is so inviting, I love it so much. And all the little details are so nice. I keep finding new things the longer I look.
Onsyu, I really like the gameboy look you went with. Super nostalgic. I love the abstract feeling you always give all your art. It's very inspiring!
Oh thanks! I hope you didn't look that hard. XD When I look at it, all I see are the blank spots on the trees. I'd planned to draw more bushes so I didn't waste time coloring things that were gonna be covered. I ended up changing my mind and didn't pay enough attention before submitting it. XD
Day #: 84 Theme: Spirit Challenge: Draw a background (part 1) Time spent: 2-3 hours!
Comments: Yeah, wow this took a while! Still rough looking but I've never really gotten past this "stage" of digital art sweatdrop I like birch trees 4laugh No clue how anyone can fit someone in it lol Also click on it to hopefully get a bigger pic?
I'm trying to not quote you about everything, but I wanted to say that this background is so good! Esp since (I assume) you rarely do digital art (from what we see during these events). Also, that I didn't think of this as "rough" when I saw it. Cuz like, for one, I know we're (in general) not making polished masterpieces daily. But, for two, this all just looks like a stylistic choice. B] The colors you used were so lovely. I love the birch trees. They're such a good anchor here, tying this to our realm.... while also being just fantastical enough to exist in this eerie realm with the giant moon @ .@
thank you! emotion_c8 I may draw it on Monday when I attempt to catch up again :> I also kinda wanna draw some mons myself Crobat is actually my fave pokemon. Gen 2 is my fav. emotion_kirakira I still do pokemon profile picture month on Facebook sweatdrop so I need some options for this December, might as well draw my favs
OooOOOoooOOo. Yes. You need another bump image. o wo
I love that there's usually a pokemon that'll fit a theme if I'm stuck. XD I... just realized that idk what gen is my fav. I just have fav pokemon. Too many XD;
Oh cool. what is pokemon profile pic month? Do you usually draw your pokemon profiles?
SPEAKING OF.. I heard next gen is suppoosed to be coming out. I wonder what ridiculous pokemon we'll get (-likes the really stupid ******** up ones-)
LOL! I'm glad the ******** up pokemon have you -- someone to love them. XD I made my own pokemon challenge years ago. It's not difficult, but I mostly play to fill the pokedex... So, if possible, I only catch the base pokemon (at the first route they're available) and have to level and evolve them all myself. ... So I usually still use all the weird pokemon... but just long enough to evolve them.
I haven't looked much into Legends ZA, but I'll probably get it. I loved the Arceus gameplay. It made me not want to go back to the regular game format. > < ... It didn't hurt that the shiny hunting was easy in Arceus. I don't normally shiny hunt, but it was quick in that game.
oh gosh lol It was a thing that started on Facebook in 2009 where you just grab some random picture of a mon off the internet somewhere(though you could always draw your own) and set it as your profile picture for the entire month of December. Nobody does it anymore, mostly because everybody who still uses Facebook is 'too grown', and the rest of humanity has stopped using Facebook in general. I've never drawn my own, I usually just snag a picture off of google or ask somebody on tumblr if I can use their mon fanart as my picture. sweatdrop
Ohhhh I think I missed it because I resisted making a FB account... until people eventually made me. XD; (I had Gaia, why did I need FB? lol) Also, I keep my FB to just irl friends. And XD they were all "too cool" for pokemon. <.<
That's cool you keep up the tradition. B] I'd have trouble picking just one pokemon. I'd overthink it. Like, why did I pick that pokemon and why does it represent "me"? .... I do the same with Gaia avatars. I don't log in daily anymore, but when I did... I used to change my outfit at least once a day. I enjoyed it.. but I also didn't want one avatar representing me for too long. XD;

The "e" on my keyboard is now working 1/3 of the time I press it. Sometimes 1/7. XD; ughghghghgh That'll have to be today's project
Day 096 Theme: Medium Challenge: Color Pencils Time spent: 1h 24m
Comments: Yammer as well
I really like your usual style... but I also like when you break from your norm and draw cool stuff. Like this. Love the texture and colors. (Your usual style is cool too. XD; I just didn't know how to word that)

Day #: 100 Theme: Art Collector Request Time spent: 2 hours 40 min
Comments: Toasted Bunni 's art request of Toasted Bunni woo~ final day~.
Such a pretty drawing! So awesome of you to finish out the event with drawing so many cute art requests! I said thank you for the adorable Duckie art the other day, but not here. So thank you again. n .n
Day # 30 Theme: Pick a previous unused theme (see below, Day 42: Baldur's Gate) Time spent: 1 hour 40 minutes
Comments: I have reading issues lately. On the website I went to "all themes" to see all of the themes not realizing that it had themes from the previous year there too. I went to the bottom and scrolled up until I saw a theme I liked which in this case was Baldur's Gate. (Day 42) Unfortunately, I did not double check the date on the theme until I was done and came here to submit. I lack the time to do another, so I am still submitting this.
My failings aside, this is Astarion! A friend recommended a new brush to me and I am obsessed. It's such a fun brush to use and it will now become my go-to brush for sketchy things like this. Today I messed around with mouth poses and hair/eyebrows. I had a lot of fun with this one and learned a lot. I resisted temptation to draw a hand in this one. เดฆเตเดฆเดฟ(หต โขฬ แด - หต ) โง.
I hope you donโt mind me quoting you so late XD but I meant to do this when you posted this piece: So good! I instantly recognized the character without seeing the theme. I liked seeing your entries for the themes. Hope to see ya again next year c: (This goes for everyone)

Day # 38 Theme: emotion_ghost Time spent: 1hr
Comments:
The characters you post are always so cute! (Unless meant to be scary, then scary and cute. XD; ) I loved that every day was a surprise XD
"๐นNo more art can be submitted after June 8th 11:59pm PST"
no exceptions? crying my next day off is the 9th...
edit: or does this mean "no more than 100 posts" in general?
Yeah that's fine, I'm okay with this because typically in years past people not in hard mode had an additional 5 or so days to complete/submit everything. I just kinda got rid of this rule because I didn't want to come back and look at things for another week hahaha. It would also push the event getting an official 'closing up' and then one just.. wouldn't happen (you can look at past years where it's like day 100.. dead silence after, no closing statement, NOTHING).
Honestly everyone can still 'submit' after it just won't get in the final count/tally (and definitely not the time restrictive mode one, but easy I'll grant since this is the first year we're changing this). But realistically I won't be doing that till like 10PM EST tomorrow anyway. That's when I'll lock everyone's threads.
Congratulations Wrayth on another year completed! You did great this year and thank you for being patient and open-minded with some of the bigger changes that happened.
