Lizzy noticed the patchwork's wave, and returned the greeting by giving him a nod of acknowledgement; for all it was worth, he was at least a good boilfriend, turning up here. She had seen how distressed and upset he was when they realized that the ghoul had been taken by the hunters, and that on their own, they had no way to get to her... Yes, Medea had agreed to help them out, but she did not like it.

She did not like the horsemen. She did not agree with the Lost Clans. She did not want to be associated with them... And when the chalice was passed to her, Lizzy paused, briefly hesitating, staring down at the liquid; it reminded her of the liquid in that vial she had found in Westhor's box. Under her feet, she thought she felt the water stir, that something was going to-

"Hang on, I'm coming," She muttered, closing her eyes, trying to shake the feeling of apprehension as she tipped the chalice to her lips to take a sip before passing it on; Medea's help came at a price, and as she passed through the flames, a spiral shaped mark appearing on the back of her right hand, she could only hope that it would be worth it in the end...

Leo startled slightly as someone latched onto her arm and turned to look at the person. Oh, it was only Mei. She threw a smile at the other ghoul, happy and relieved to have someone she trusted there with her. She seemed to have lost the rest of the group somewhere along the way - or maybe they'd split up, she wasn't entirely sure.

"Not really. It's a bit sad really, since we're supposed to be allies and all." Her brow furrowed. "Do you think we can trust them, then?" Maybe the horsemen disliked the Amityville students enough to refuse to work with them when the time came.

Leo nodded to Mei's whispered words. "I... I don't really know. I'm not even sure I know what's really going on." She thought for a bit. "I guess we'll be going to rescue the kidnapped at some point, but I dunno if we have to do more weird ritualistic stuff before then." Or maybe someone would give them a few pointers on how to take down the enemy. That'd come in handy, for sure.

Looked like it was a good thing Mac'd helped Amarus get a skellyphone, because it had been infinitely useful so far. Beyond useful; necessary, in its own way. Not that she'd been using it much, lately. She had fewer than a handful of friends whose numbers she had, so it wasn't as though she needed to text constantly. When she received the text that said DON'T... she had no clue what it was for.

But, gradually, she'd come to be led here. To the room with the other students, and suddenly Medea had appeared, and Amarus felt a wave of reassurance. Medea, to Amarus, represented salvation: that day when she thought she simply could not fight, when she thought her friends and herself would lose the battle, Medea had appeared. And she had eased their pain, for the moment. Rejuvenated them. Amarus was forever grateful for that gesture, and as such, when Medea called, she would come. Amarus was loyal when she trusted someone.

Of course she would prove, then, that her loyalty was absolute. And she was not afraid of the pain. This kind of pain was what she understood best. Not that she could brace herself for it, or be prepared, but... compared to the recent pain of having to deal wth re-learning emotions, she would gladly take this pain in its stead. Relieving, even, to be called into action. Amarus stepped through the flames, and when the chalice was offered from Lizzy, Amarus grinned and accepted it, taking one sip and passing it on. She bowed to Lizzy in greeting before the ghoul could escape away.

Resisting the urge to scurry over there was hard, but she had to concentrate on what they were here to do. Even though she knew once Medea had called the Horsemen that the Famine woman would possibly show up. When she thought she had caught her eye, Mei gave the Horsemen a small smile with a slight nod of her head in recognition.

Mizti popped up out of the corner of her eye along with her ghosty friend. She gave the purple haired Reaper a small wave to come and join her and Leo before her attention was back on the Mare who's arm she clung to.

"I like to believe that we can. At least most of them anyhow. They have their own motives but really can you blame them? If we were in their position we'd be the same way. Trying everything in our power to regain what little bits we could of what we had lost." She nibbled on her thumbnail thoughtfully. The Jiang Shi had more faith and less suspicion than most towards the Horsemen. But perhaps that was because she had spent more time interacting with them on a more personal level than other students. She had gone out of her way to be as welcoming to them as she possibly could. Even if they thought them merely children.

Clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth she nodded. "I do hope we get to the rescuing here soon. I really don't like just standing around here.....it leaves us open too much."

She threw a smile at Mitzi as Mei tried to wave the other ghoul over. It'd be nice to have more people here she could trust and she really hoped the other ghoul would take the unspoken invitation. The more the merrier - or safer, in this case.

"True." Leo hummed. "Anyone would probably be a bit suspicious after what they've gone through. Yeah, you're right." She gave Mei a smile - now she didn't feel half as bad about the possibility of the Lost Clan betraying them. Mei made sense, they were just acting as anyone would.

Leo wrinkled her nose. "Yeah, it kinda does, doesn't it. I mean, if that Medea priestess can make portals, who's to say the enemy can't? They're hunters, but they're definitely not just normal humans, right?"

There was no point to being over suspicious of the Horsemen. They were probably super suspicious of them as well and that would never get them anywhere in the long run. It would only hinder any efforts to create a livable co-existence. "I'm glad to see you are open minded. Unlike some others."

If the Horsemen did betray them, which she hoped wasn't going to be the case, perhaps she would be a bit more wary. But for now they all just needed to put their differences aside and work together. It was obvious to anyone that the Priestess and the Horsemen wouldn't be helping them at all if they didn't have something to gain. Help was never truly free. You could say you were helping your friend but in the end when you needed them they would be more than obligated to help you in return.

Everyone owed everyone.

"No, they aren't normal humans." She frowned. Even with the Hunters Mei wasn't sure about all of them. After the philosophical conversation her and Chryses had had before, before the missing students had gone missing. "But I believe we are fairly secure here for the time being. If they are busy...doing whatever it is they are doing."

The smirk diminished. "Losses will be had regardless. Casualties are a fact of war," Shik pointed out most insensitively, as he did not know the women were related in spite of their similar coloring. This was a man operating on the fact that his own family had been demolished in the explosion and who assumed, unless proven otherwise, that the same was true for others. Well except maybe Conquest - probably inbred anyway. "While your caution is warranted, I am in no position to agree on being careful. Not here, not with the prey so close at hand."

Shikoba might not have Insanity, but there were beasts of a different sort within: ones that made his blood sing at the thought of utter carnage. Its focus had been misplaced as of late due to the executioner's penchant for arranging spars, but now Hunters were at hand. Nothing would stop him now.

"The only thing that can be lost here is the chance for revenge. And if I do not do my best to exact it, the memories of the lost would be insulted." With that, he turned to Bacca, prompting her with a gesture of his hand. "Might I join you when we storm their lair? Too long has it been since I've done a raid wih a group."

Giving Junko a reassuring squeeze on the shoulders, dark lips set in a thin line. Anyone that knew him well could see he was worried, about their friends, those that stood with them now and those they were trying to save. What if something went wrong? What if they were walking into a trap? What if more of them were taken as a result of this fool hardy mission? The questions kept circulating through his head, but he ignore them as best he could.

Despite his worry, despite the obvious risks, they had to go. They couldn't leave their friends at the mercy of the hunters, knowing what they did about what happened to the denizens of Halloween that were taken.

The horsemen were joining them now, what remained of a once proud race, and still so obviously strong spirited. He couldn't help but stare as he watched them enter through the portal to stand with their priestess. If they were coming as well, perhaps their chance of success was a just a little higher then the hopeless prayer the ghost had thought it to be even as he'd run to follow.

As they began to move, so too did Seiji, weary eyes directed downwards at the black water that was licking along their legs. Not hot, not cold, but ominous all the same. He wasn't actually surprised when something grabbed at his ankles to hold him in place. Claw like skeletal hands climbing their way up his calves. Anticipation didn't make him any less happy about it though, and he tugged at his legs, growling at the unseen forces that held him, them, before Medea's voice reclaimed his attention.

When the chalice came his way he drank, one sip, before passing it to Junko, and just like that the pressure on his legs eased and faded away.

Nergui had been resting when the call had come, but she'd wakened at once and readied herself. Heavier attire exchanged for something a little less constricting. They were heading into battle, and the priestess of death wanted nothing to get in the way. The hunters would pay, and pay dearly, for their sins against the clans and their allies. Finally it seemed, that ever burning pit of smoldering rage would be sated. Nergui was excited.

Through the portal she paused beside Medea, happy the woman as safe and unharmed, happier for the purpose she saw in the other's eyes. She hadn't worried over her departure, but it had left a distinct feeling of unease, one the Insanity had gladly taken advantage of.

At first the group of bodies before her seemed like little more then chaos, then faces began to raise up from the mass, familiar and safe, and she picked one among them to join. Soren, the guardian from the woods around their encampment. He'd aided her before, and gained her respect and gratitude. Of her own clan, it was him she felt.. Safest with. Not that the priestess couldn't hold her own, but the presence of the towering warrior was a comfort, and did well to calm the voices in her head.

She laid a hand on the large horsemen's arm, heterchromic eyes rolling up as she offered him a nod in greeting. She hadn't seen him since their run in in the woods, least not face to face. The other's around him were all given nods as well, the majority she actually recognized from the meeting Medea had called them to when they'd first arrived in Halloween.

A definite annoyed look crept over Nomiki's features, the expression only intensified by Shik's encouragement towards Bacca and the outright admonishment Nomi received. Trying to figure out why Bacca acted the way she did was impossible, but Nomi did not understand her sister's sudden mood change, her show of defiance. The male before them was very nice to look at, but Nomi had no designs on him. Taking care of Bacca was more than a handful and took up most of Nomi's time and dedication.

They both seemed interested in blood and carnage - just as she had been, before the fall of the clans. Nomiki fell silent and tilted her head, glancing sideways at her sister.

Lizzy knew that she was not going to forgive herself easily for this, so when she realized that Amarus was the one who took the chalice from her, she paused... And then enveloped the ghoul in a hug, trying to find some resemblance of comfort from the arms and body of someone familiar to her.

Too bad it made her realize just how frightened she was.

Soren looked down at the hand on his arm, looking at the horsewoman for a long moment before he relaxed. "Priestess." The low rumble contained the barest hint of surprise, he had not seen her when he had arrived or since. It was good to see one of their own here though, even if the faintest twinge in the back of his mind did not want her there. They were going into battle, and Priestesses needed to be kept safe.

But then again, they were just fighting humans, even if they were hunters. She seemed to recognize some of the others so he made no effort to introduce her, merely shifting a bit so that they could join their gathering a bit better, fully willing (if not pleased) to have a priestess at his side.

"Soren." As greetings went it was lacking, but Nergui had never been much for unneeded niceties. As his arm beneath her hand relaxed, she offered the barest hints a smile up to him before settling comfortably at his side. They might not have been all that close as of yet, but he was a guardian, and she a priestess, and their positions were intertwined. Dark fingers shifted to the crook of his elbow, maintaining a loose grip. As one of the few she felt truly comfortable with Soren would find he'd just earned a second shadow for the time being.

"Well, it is kinda hard to be open minded with the way they're looking at us. It's not exactly friendly." She couldn't really blame anyone for being suspicious after being looked at like that. After all, she'd been, too.

"I hope so. I hope we surprise them and this goes as smooth as butter." But it probably wouldn't, she knew. Still... it'd be nice if everything worked out swiftly - and with as few injuries as possible. Leo wasn't even contemplating the possibility of there actually being casualties from this.

A small smirk came to her lips as she leaned in to whisper in Leo's ear so that none of the Horsemen might over hear her. "Its going to take us to be the bigger person." Moving away from Leo's ear she wrapped both arms now around the other ghoul's. Her long sleeves fluttering about her elbows. "Not all of them are so...." She searched for a word. "Snooty?" Yes, that would do.

A frown tugged threateningly at the corners of her lips, her eyes casting a glance to the ground as she pondered over what might happen in the moments to come. If history proved correct, things wouldn't go as smoothly as most of them all planned. There was always something that went horribly wrong, but she had to keep faith that they would be able to get in and get back out of there with the kidnapped students with little to no casualties. The Jiang Shi cast another glance to Eisheth before letting out a small sigh. "All we have is hope honestly. We can hope and hope and hope some more that things won't go horribly wrong but...." Shutting her eyes tight, she hugged Leo's arm more. Perhaps a bit too tight. "I just get this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach Leo that something really bad is going to happen."

Xiu's eyes were a little distant as she scanned over all the students and horsemen who were present. Whereas most of the students seemed nervous--albeit determined--about the upcoming fight, most of the horsemen seemed...hungry? Excited? She was certain that many of them were looking forward to exacting revenge on the Hunters, but as for Amityville...

"We're not fighting for the sake of fighting," Xiu lifted a hand to her shoulder, patting Vaith's hand as she craned her neck to look at him, "If I can help it, I don't intend on throwing myself into any pointless fights with the Hunters today. I just want to free the captured students and try to make sure that everyone gets back safely." Shun, Hel, Lizzy, Alex--they would all make it back, right? No matter what happened?

There was a long pause, and then she sighed, lowering her voice to a whisper. "I can...see where you're coming from, though. As hard as we've been fighting, I don't think this conflict will ever end. Not completely." Even if they saved everyone and made it back safely, who was to say that the Hunters wouldn't do the same thing in a week's time? Just as the Lost Clans and Amityville students were getting more adept at coming up with plans, so too were the Hunters.
