Finally back on his feet, Ryan summoned Locke. The red gauntlets appearing on his arms in a flash of red light.

It was a massive creature and the idea of actually having running right up to it to attack was a bit unnerving, but it was the only way he could carry out his attack.

Really Locke, you couldn't have been some sort of long ranged weapon...?

:Be grateful you even have me!: Locke made a huff like noise, offended.

With that, he drove all of his claws into the creatures rotting flesh, his fingers punching through to reveal---more rotting flesh...

Eva finally managed to stagger to her feet, only to realize that her vision was being blocked off by some kind of thick smoke. She jerked her head left and right, trying to make out where the monster had moved to now. As she took few steps forward, she noticed a shadow moving within the smoke--one that seemingly just struck out at something else.

Was that the monster?

...She wasn't sure. Twirling Chara around so that she was blunt-side up, the young woman gave an experimental whack to the shadow in front of her. Almost immediately after, she was suddenly struck in the back, fortunately having been protected by her FEAR shield. It still hurt, though, and she was sent stumbling forward and into Otto.

The minute she stumbled into Otto, she realized that she hadn't hit the monster, but a teammate. At least the strike hadn't been too hard? Her hand was rather invasive as she pat at the poor boy's arm, head and chest, trying to figure out just who it was. Same height as she was, definitely a male (or a really flat girl). There were only two people she knew who fit that description: Gale and Otto. How was she going to find out just which one it was? Hmmm.

Eva waited to see if the figure would start swearing at her.

Tika's mask was fogged up pretty bad by this point. The teen was able to get to her feet but she could not see for the life of her. She did hear Wilson's Crap ... Tika .

"I'm fine... I'm fine... Just not being a good example I suppose," The teen shook her head. There was a small flash of blue light in her hands where her weapon, Atii, appeared. Maybe it wasn't the best decision to go ahead and attack when the conditions of her sight were in question. But Tika felt she needed to attack what ever was attacking them.

She charged and struck Atti at what she had thought was the monster only to realize she was mistaken the moment after her actions.

"OH s**t!!" She was pretty sure that couldn't have been the monster. She was again not being a very good example of what a semi experienced hunter should be.

It was either a stroke of stealthy genius, or a foolish way to end up like one of them. For Leon , it must have been the foolish way. The bleeding was well stanched as he took a strip of the spare tent canvas and placed it over the bleeding wound. It was much better than bleeding out.

"Damn, Harrison this really does not look good. Where the hell is Caelius, I don't think he can help us in his current condition." he couldn't help but try to think strategically being stuck with a wound that needed immediate tending. The corpses didn't have much to offer when it came to guidance but the frantic chatter over the headsets was probably the best way to organize an attack and sync moves.

It was not going to be like when the strays fought against Ben.

"Master Caelius, Any idea where its weak point is?" came the loud reply from the boxer over the headset's transmission. If anything it was to make sure their leader was still with them and didn't need to get a bag ready for the experienced hunter. However the chatter from the headpiece was second to the roar that the giant serpent like creature let out.

But the smoke that blanketed the field soon after was the more dangerous part as Leon tried to hobble up and attack the beasts tail and found something that felt more supple. And had limbs much like a regular humans. "Crap, are your all right? these damn masks are horrible to see in!"

Status: no longer bleeding badly but blinded by the smokescreen and mask combo.

Moving into range of the target, she hit by an allies attack on the way. "Oh-ow ow ow." This battle was literally chaos. Glancing at the wound on her arm, she noted the large gash. She would slap a band-aid over it after the battle..a big one. "I'm fine, just a flesh wound!" She called back to Leon as she ran ahead.

Get ready Xedis, I'm moving in for an attack.

It was a joke. Reaching her chosen location, she aimed her weapons again, firing them off at her target. This time, she hit. Well, I think I clipped it at least. Heh heh.

“We all have our off days,” Wilson reassured Tika. As he peeled off the mask, he stuffed it in his pockets (they would probably want it back, right?) When he took the goggles off his neck he instantly felt the familiar weight of the tank, the cannons dangling aimlessly. He slipped on tank straps and the mask, then he grasped the cannons, his hands completely disappearing from view.

He ran forward, intending to hit the monster, but for some reason the lens of his mask had already fogged. Before Wilson could stop, he had already attacked another trainee with the spikes of his cannon. He swore again as he frantically backed away from her. “Crapohmygod I’m sorry!” A wave of guilt ran through him. If he made it out of this he would try to make it up to her somehow. If he did.

He glanced at Tika and wryly muttered, "Well, at least now you're not the only one who goofed."

Jerry scrambled to his feet, shaking as he felt Ryan's hand on his shoulder for a brief moment, "Th-thank... thank goodness for Fear Shields, eh?" He laughed nervously. Although at the rate people were dropping and scrambling around them, who knew how long it would last.

Breath hitched in his throat, the whistle hanging at his neck glowed with a brilliant green before expanding into his arms, but by the time Roar was hefted smartly onto his scrawny shoulder, the gas enveloped them. "Ah.. ahh.. I can't-" Which way? Which way was... THERE! A SOUND! FIRE FIRE FIRE!

Wait, wait, no, not that way, you idioooOAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO The bazooka blast of sound ripped through the swirling clouds, unfortunately smashing into one of his fellow trainees...

Bix struggled to his feet when a cloud of toxic fumes washed across him. He'd taken his mask off before the monster appeared so he ended up inhaling a whole bunch of it, falling to his knees. The hunter coughed uncontrollably and his eyes watered.

"Tedan?" He called out for his partner, hoping the newbie was okay. His big brother complex had kicked in and he was more concerned about the other than he was about himself, despite the fact he could feel his strength being sapped by the poison gas.
