Corruo, Medical Bay Two

Sephis awoke to bright plaster lights and the scent of bacta. He registered something being wiped over one of the places he'd been shot, and blinked rapidly. There was no pain. Hmm... His wounds had been treated.

Sephis tried to sit up and examine himself. That was when he realized that durasteel straps had him confined to his medical cot; Not that they would hold if he decided to break loose from them; He was an Imperial Knight, after all. It would have held his former military self, though, the young and incompetent Grand Admiral.

"Quite a predicament you've got yourself in, Sephis," a familiar voice said, sounding oddly nearby, although Sephis couldn't see the speaker. "How does a young man like yourself end up becoming the Empress' lap dog? It says here you used to be an up and coming Captain."

Sephis winced with realization. He could pick that tone up out of nowhere. The man speaking to him was the current Grand Admiral.

"What happened to the Lieutenant?" Sephis asked, craning his neck to try to get a look at the Grand Admiral.

Corruo

Morbella snorted derisively at the question, stepping around behind the Grand Admiral and stopping just behind the violet-skinned man's elbows. The scent of bacta assaulted her nose and made her want to sneeze, both from Sephis' treatment and the residue of her own, and she wasn't particularly pleased with being here at all. Despite what she may or may not want, however, it appeared that her circumstances were irreversibly tangled up in the Darth's, for better or worse.

Let's hope death doesn't do one of us apart. She reflected darkly, adding aloud "She's around here somewhere." Her tone was humorless and dry to reflect her mood, but she had no desire to continue on or overstep her presence. At least not while the GA was here. Not only was she grateful for the man's timing, she also wasn't about to turn the tables that seems so slippery aboard the Corruo these days, so she did nothing further than watch the Sith Knight crane his neck towards the speakers in the room. Keep sticking your neck out that way, Darth, she glowered, make it easier for someone to chop it off.

Corruo, Med Bay Two

Sephis' eyebrow arched, alarmed at Morbella's voice. If Morbella was alive and well enough to be standing next to the Grand Admiral while he was strapped down to a cot, then things were certainly not looking great for him.

"That answers my question," Sephis said, turning his head in a different direction to try to catch sight of Morbella.

"You had quite a career ahead of you: You could have been a respectable Admiral, like I was once, right up until the point you started sucking on Lady Venia's tit." A shadow passed over Sephis from the side he'd just turned away from and the Grand Admiral's voice traveled with it. So he was behind him now. But where was Morbella? "Then, that newfound power of yours went to your head so fast, you didn't know what had happened to you by the time the Sith had mutinied."

Corruo

"You're not the one asking questions anymore, Darth." Morbella snapped, stepping around so that Sephis could see her as the GA continued his questions.

"You had quite a career ahead of you: You could have been a respectable Admiral, like I was once, right up until the point you started sucking on Lady Venia's tit." -- all the while, the glare of her orange eyes never left his. -- "Then, that newfound power of yours went to your head so fast, you didn't know what had happened to you by the time the Sith had mutinied."

"Now what are you: the shell of a better man who fills that bitter emptiness by using that power to knock around a convenient scapegoat?" She added to punctuate the Admiral's words. There was a bitter bite to her speech, and many more words unsaid. She'd save them for later.

Corruo, Med Bay Two

Sephis fixed his sights on Morbella as she took a jab at him. He glared at her, knowing that there was more truth to that guess than she probably realized there was. He hated her for understanding him that way.

"Now, my query is: How do we keep a useful guy like you from failing our new Dark Lady?" the Grand Admiral asked, stepping up next Morbella so Sephis could see him.

Sephis did not avert his gaze from the little Lieutenant, and his question, while an appropriate response to the Grand Admiral's, was meant for her.

"What do you want from me?" Sephis asked.

Failed. She had known as much, but to hear it told by another, still made it a painful realization. Yet, she had known ever since waking in that dreadful room.

The books, scrolls, equipment and the names that remained to linger in her mind, they had strongly suggested to what now had been confirmed. She'd been robbed of living her own life. Somehow, she was glad she didn't remember any of it, it was a time not worth holding onto, a time best left behind and forgotten.

Sisters. The mention of this bond remained in thought, appealed to her, comforted her. It was a suggestion that, though starting anew, leaving behind those proverbial shackles, she was not alone.

She was hearing exactly those words she yearned for, not realizing the danger that lay in believing them. To be alone was exactly what she feared the most right now, so much, that she would be willing to believe near everything this Anzat would tell her just for the sake of her guidance and companionship. She did not want to believe this woman could could be a danger to her.

No one else had come for her to the Corruo, there was nothing to look back on, leaving her only with the option to move forward. Mabysyn had been there, though, perhaps purely by coincidence, but she had helped Irella to get off the Corruo nonetheless. The least Irella could do was to trust her.

"No, not yet. One shackle still remains." She spoke, referring to her inability to wield the Force in the way she had known. "But you can teach me, to be strong again, yes?" The question was of rhetorical nature, merely a ways for leading into her true request as she gathered her courage and will together, her face momentarily reflecting that of her first arrival on the Corruo. Calculating and confident, determined to work towards the goals she had set in her mind. "Then teach me everything. So none can do this to me ever again."

Point Nadir, Outside Down Low

The Enforcers, the Hutt Anjiliac clan's personal "elite" mercenaries, stood before Down Low, an information broker's office, finishing their death sticks before they stepped indoors. Onurb Zechnas, the Gamorrean, was not consuming any at the moment, but Leinad Nietsnebur and Anatmon Elab, the Nikto and Weequay of the group respectively, were taking long drags off of theirs, trying to finish their sticks quickly so they could step inside the office. The three of them, Kal was growing to find out, talked a lot.

"Onurb, you know what I'd like to do?" Leinad asked.

Onurb, a towering Gamorrean gave a short grunt, acknowledging his superior.

"I'd like to knock over that casino."

Onurb let out of slew of growls, grunts and snorts.

"The one on... It's the closest one to Zebedda's Palace," Leinad said, still not naming the location.

"Why..."

Onurb let out a squeal of realization.

"Yeah..."

"Why?"

"I just don't like the place," Leinad answered evasively.

Onurb squealed, and grunted twice.

"I'm just sick of looking at it all the time," Leinad replied.

"What did they do to you?" Anatmon, a Weequay standing with the two of them, asked.

"Nothing..."

"Come on, Lei," Anatmon said. "They did something."

"No, I just... Well, I applied for a job there and they never called me back," Leinad explained. "That kind of irritates me."

Onurb grunted.

"You know, like, a decade ago," Leinad added.

Onurb and Anatmon stared at Leinad for a moment, not bothering to restrain the grins on their faces.

"What..."

Onurb and Anatmon burst out laughing together.

"What was that?" Anatmon asked. "In 287? Get over it."

"I'm over it," Leinad protested irritably.

"Oh yeah," Anatmon acknowledged sarcastically.

"I am," Leinad insisted.

"That's why you want to knock it over," Anatmon commented dryly.

"Hey, the place irritates me every time I look at it," Leinad said defensively, shrugging.

Onurb grunted a few times, still amid laughter.

"Do you know what Zietta would do if you went and knocked over Lucky's without her thumbs-up?" Anatmon asked, still chuckling a bit.

"What does she care...?"

"She cares, and Mr. Porlo in there, oh boy... You try it," Anatmon said. "See what happens."

"So what? Onurb could take him."

"Who... Mr. Porlo?" Anatmon asked, incredulous.

"No, Zietta..."

Onurb grunted in approval.

"You could not," Anatmon said to Onurb.

Onurb grunted disagreeably.

"Have you ever met her?" Anatmon asked, extinguishing his death stick.

Onurb gave a short grunt.

"Well, I have," Anatmon said. "You couldn't take her."

Onurb gave out two high-pitched grunts and a squeal. He balled one of his hands up in a fist.

"Zietta probably owns Lucky's, in either case," Anatmon said, turning toward the store's front door.

Onurb grunted twice.

"You shouldn't even joke liek that, you know," Anatmon cautioned.

"She owns Lucky's?" Leinad asked disbelievingly, extinguishing his death stick, as well.

Onurb grunted and hissed dismissively.

"Yeah, Ms. Legitimate Business... I forgot," Leinad commented wryly.

The trio moved toward the door. Anatmon pushed open the door and the Gamorrean pushed to move in behind him. Kal walked across the street, cloaked using the Force, moving to attack all three of them as they walked inside.

"Don't even joke," Anatmon said fervently. "You never know who's listening..."

The last of the Enforcers, Leinad, moved in behind Onurb and the door began to close. Kal picked up his pace, jogging toward the storefront. He jumped lightly, giving himself some added momentum for when he collided with their leader. He dropped his cloak. He made impact with a hard shoulder.

Point Nadir, Inside Down Low

Kal's shoulder made a hard impact into Leinad's back, knocking him into Onurb, who stumbled, but wasn't so fazed that he didn't turn around to investigate. As Leinad was recovering on the ground, Kal looking up at the Gamorrean with a mischievous smile.

"Hi, I'm looking for some information," Kal said.

The Gamorrean grunted and drew out his axe. Kal held the axe in place with the Force as he leaped over him and Anatmon, a tight space just inside the entrance and in-between the Enforcers heads and the low ceiling.

"Hey, what's the big idea?" Anatmon asked, drawing his vibroblade.

"What... It's him!" Leinad explained, looking up at Kal's spectacular display of agility. "It's that damn Jedi-bounty hunter!"

"Come on... You guys don't really associate me with the Jedi, do you?" Kal asked, sarcasm dripping from his voice. "Oh hell, why do I even try? You guys wouldn't know real bounty hunters even if you were employed as such. You couldn't spot one if you saw one."

"What do you want with us this time?" Anatmon asked. "We don't have prices on our heads."

Naboo/ Warren's Funeral, Shuttle Hanger User Image

Ronyo can hear the emphasis in Mina’s voice as she speaks about tracking down Isani. He was worried about the connection Kennero and Mina were, or already had formed between each other. The Jedi had nothing against following your heart and also did not fully share the council’s idea of reviving the original no relationships code. He saw no reason a Jedi could not find someone they wished to spend the rest of their lives with however it must be one with the Jedi teachings backing them up.

To many times have Jedi fallen because they could not take the loss of a loved one, which was why originally Jedi were forbidden to engage in such personal contact. Such a raw and powerful emotion such as love has the potential to make anyone do things they would not even think of without it. So long as Mina and Kennero could let the other go should something happen then they would be fine.

“That’s fine Mina, just be mindful of who you are tracking and never underestimate her. She has far more experience than the both of you and will not go down easily,” Ronyo chuckled a bit realizing he likely sounded like his title for once, “I’m sure your well aware of all that though just consider it a friendly concern. If you find yourselves in trouble do not hesitate to call, make sure pride does not become your toughest opponent.”

Ronyo bowed to Mina knowing she could more than take care of herself, and with Kennero was likely a powerful unified team. Turning to Sam seeing her face doing its best to remain plain and emotionless the Jedi knew it was likely past time to go. Ronyo waved a hand to allow Sam to go first and then followed her out.

*****

The trip to the Hanger was one of quiet and reflection with only Omega showing any signs of emotion as he stuck his head out of the speeder during the entire ride. Once they stood in view of Ronyo’s Old Republic model Corellian Corvette he smiled as he always did when he looked at the ship. He always felt like he was getting to fly around in a piece of history itself without any of the drawbacks. Engineers had looked over the old shuttle when Ronyo had returned with it and had been surprised to find how almost modern some of the parts appeared. They were constructed in different ways or with different methods but still seemed to work the same way. It was just another in a long line of puzzling questions about that long ago time, one they likely would never get the full answer too.

With a smile and a wave Ronyo made a bit of melodramatic bow as he pointed towards the loading ramp that would lead into the ship. Omega ran over and sat in his most regal of posses and almost looked like he was grinning again.

“Your chariot awaits good lady,” Ronyo was trying to make the mood a bit lighter and it was at least working on Omega and him.

Nar Shaddaa, Jekk'Jekk Tarr

The infrared lighting played eerily across Eden's alabaster skin as she settled her black eyes on the fidgeting twi-lek girl before her. If the Nautolan didn't know better, she'd almost call the girl nervous. Having been down this road herself enough times, and having watched the dealer with other customers in this very same Cantina, however, Eden knew it was a facade.

"Neutron Pixie, Glitteryll... though I don't know why you'd want that, and Carsunum." The girl twittered, lowering her voice to a hush with each consecutive word. Eden didn't blink, though doing so would have simply been for dramatic display, nor did her brow furrow... though she did want to punch the girl in the face.

"Where's the rest of it?" She asked coolly, instead of reacting violently. Her fingers tapping on her leg was the only visible sign of her aggravation. She didn't like dealing with Twi'leks at the best of time, their habitual release of pheremones made her nearly nauseous and she'd bound back her own tendrils for the occasion to spare herself the worst of it.

"Well, my supplier had some trouble getting th--" The rest of her sentence was cut off with a squeal as Eden's white hand flashed forward and grabbed the girl's right lekku, bringing it and her face down hard onto the table. The contents shook, but did not spill, and Eden took her time removing them from harm's way with her free hand before she returned her attention to the squealing twi'lek.

"Shut-up." She hissed, twisting the Lekku viciously. "There are enough patrons in this room alone that would be willing to kill you for the noises you're making... that or mate with you." The girl fell silent, her hands still struggling to find some sort of hold or grip on Eden's arm despite the pain she was in.

"I didn't lie!" The dealer said breathily, showing some restraint. Eden let her own breath out slowly; finally, they were back to business. The fear exuding from the Rylothian was far better for her own clarity as well, and she stopped twisting the Lekku, though she did not release it.

"Here's the deal, Le'anna. I offered you credits for a service and as of right now, you've failed to provide that service. So, until I get what I asked for, you don't get paid."

"Schutta!" Even with a Lekku in the hands of a known-murderer, the Twi'lek girl fired up angrily. Eden felt herself beginning to respect her more than she ever thought she would. "I gave you more than half of what you wanted!"

"And giving you what I promised with that pitiful offering would be frelling charity, pork-chop."

Le'anna, the Twi'lek, began to mewl again. Eden rolled her large black eyes only a moment at the thought that this girl entertained the delusion that one among the cantina's patrons would help her before she produced her cortosis weave knife with a sickeningly smooth sound of it sliding out from it's sheath at her calf. It sounded wet and, to Eden, delicious. To anyone else it was the sound of a blade exiting flesh; death. Even more quickly than before the girl's pathetic sounds stopped.

"New deal, Le'anna." Eden said, repeating the girl's name deliberately to make sure she had her undivided attention. "You get the entire payment, I get the spice you've brought.. and I take a Lekku from your ill-guided head as a reminder that when you make a deal with me, you be prepared to deliver what you promised, either in spice or flesh." Eden settled the knife over the Lekku gently. "Or, you back of now, you keep both Lekku, and you get yourself to the docks to meet with someone who can get me what I want."

Surprisingly, the girl spent a moment mulling it over until she acquiesced. "Alright." She said, and Eden released her Lekku. After allowing the twi'lek to re-arrange various halters that had come loose in her ensemble, and stroke her lekku comfortingly, Eden sheathed her knife. "Who do I go to? You know it's not every Smuggle in the galaxy willing to go in search of Lumni Spice."

Eden smiled then, "Kena, Embrel. The convincing part I leave up to you... all of my diplomacy has been used up for the day."

Parting with no more words, both Eden and the girl Le'anna left the Cantina.

[ Naboo -- Coruscant ]

"Of course, Grandmaster," Mina says politely, but these are all cautionary words she's already internalized. Be careful. Be patient. Be wary. Be watchful. And most of all, Be by Kennero's side -- because Mina knows all this, but she fears Kennero's grief might cloud his general sensibility.

With a final goodbye for Sam, Mina takes her leave from the funeral home and makes for the hangar bay where her Republic-loaned ship awaits.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

When she reaches Coruscant and is requested for ID, Mina senses the slightest of tremors in the Force -- something is not quite right. It's not quite wrong either, but must needs be set straight... Frowning, she sends over the COM, "This is Knight Armina Rahl returning from the Naboo system."

Missing Score, In Orbit Around Coruscant

Cole was sitting in his command chair, idly going over a regular report, when his lieutenant cried out:

"Commander, we've got a red flag coming in from sector 3!"

Cole looked up, suddenly alert after his compound eyes had been glazing over a datapad. It took him a moment to give any order.

"" Cole ordered.

"Yes, sir."

It wasn't even a moment before Cole was looking at the details of the security threat upon his datapad. The ship "Knight Rahl" was traveling on was unremarkable, and was not the same ship that she had left on. This meant nothing, of course. There were only a billion spacecraft in the galaxy. She could have acquired a new one anywhere. Knight Rahl was red-flagged because she had been the one to break their former Force-using prisoner. And considering she was supposed to be a Jedi, many would consider that unusual. Perhaps she had come back to explain herself?

Cole flicked his antenna towards his COM officer.

""

"Yes, sir."

Cole turned to his OPS officer.

""

"Yes, sir."

""

Without a word, Lieutenant Liono worked his console and Armina Rahl's visage appeared on-screen, visible to everyone on the Bridge, unaware that she was being watched.

[ Coruscant ]

It is when Mina receives the order to dock in space that facts confirm her suspicion -- things here have changed, and for what reason she does not know. Confusion settles on her brow before it is chased away by serenity; perhaps, Mina thinks, this is the Force's way of confirming the decision she already knows is right. It is time for Mina to leave Coruscant and her position there to follow Kennero and aid him on his journey.

Hesitant only because of the uncertainty of the situation, the Knight docks her ship as ordered.
