Willow nodded and followed Jethrow into the study, looking around for a second before focusing on the girl in the chair. She could feel the trap that was around her, one she was sure Jethrow had put up to contain her demon powers. Alright, here goes a chance to prove myself, she decided.

Zuuko eyed the other demon apprehensively. He wasn't even sure why he was helping out, other than sheer boredom/curiosity. This was not what I meant by investigating...

Demetri raised an eyebrow, holding his hand out and taking the charm bells from Fester. He brought the item up to his face, tilting his head quizzically as he inspected them. "I think this may be an heirloom, Fester," he said, a small smirk creeping its way onto his face. "So the question is, what happened to this other...fox?"

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.

Jethrow directed Luke and Zuuko to stand on either side of the chair Anya was still passed out in, knowing that her initial reaction would be to attack towards the front. It would be easier to control her if they had the element of being able to get at her from the sides. He poured out the antidote into a clay cup, holding it steady as he muttered a few quick incantations over it, preparing the potion. He instructed Willow on how to channel her energy and began to channel his own, concentrating on releasing his lock on Anya's consciousness. Soon enough, the spell broke, and she began to wake up. "Get ready," he warned.

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream.

As soon as Anya felt whatever was keeping her trapped lifted, she started out of the blackness, sitting straight up and looking around at her surroundings. A strange woman she didn't know stood with the younger-looking Jethrow, and she could already tell that whatever they were doing was not good. Muttering a curse word under her breath, she glared at the spot of floor beneath Jethrow's feet, and a bright flame popped up that he just barely avoided. She began to do the same to the both of them, and as they began hopping around, she stood, intending to run for the door.

Willow jumped back in surprise at the sudden bursts of fire on the ground, and she started to cast a few spells, but the flames seemed resistant to water spells, wind spells, and really anything else she could think of to put them out. She managed to dodge a particularly close flame, and she realized that she and Jethrow were being backed up towards the corner.

Zuuko raised his eyebrow, surprised. So that was why they needed us, he thought blandly, having not taken the wizard seriously when he'd explained that the girl would be dangerous. He stopped staring at the flames and looked down as the fairy scanned ways of escape, and as she stood, he reached out, grabbing one of her arms and holding firmly to stop her.

Luke used his ice to freeze Anya's feet to the floor before seizing one of the half faerie's wrists. He kept a good grip on her wrist to keep Anya from striking at him with that arm. He'd easily get rid of her fire, but right now he wanted to keep her from getting away.

Fester poked at the bells, thinking. "Did you not find little fox in a great building? Maybe it was a tomb master?" the dragon asked, looking to the dark wizard.

Demetri raised an eyebrow in thought and nodded slowly. "Fester, you are a genius. Hm... This could easily explain the girl's sudden vulnerability... I like this situation more and more each second I'm in it."

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream.

User Image
Anya looked exasperatedly to either side as she not only found herself frozen to the floor, but Luke held her wrist, and some strange...demon held her other arm. Since she didn't know the demon, she didn't bother, and instead looked over her shoulder to glare intently at Luke. She didn't say anything, just glared, hopefully getting her near-murderous intent across properly. She whipped her head around to see that Jethrow and the elf were being backed into the corner, and she increased the size of the flames, hoping that she could do more damage before she was stopped. I don't care how powerful he is, I'm more stubborn, she thought obstinately.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.

User Image
Jethrow quickly cast a protection spell, creating a little air bubble around him and Willow to keep the flames away until Luke could subdue Anya. That won't be her only trick, he thought worriedly. "When we're able to again, I'll need you to channel your energy into breaking down Anya's mind defenses. We'll need to have the part of her mind that is under the other wizard's control open for this antidote to work," he instructed Willow.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 12:59 am

Luke used his magic once more to put out any fires and trap that side of Anya's body in ice so he didn't have to hold her arm. Her side was coated in ice so she wasn't going to be moving it. Even if she did try her fire, Luke could simply reform it. She may be stubborn, but Luke had Lunora. He was in his own way persistent and very very patient.

"So what will you do master? How will you make the fox agonize over this new detail?" the dragon asked, a sadistic grin forming over his fangs. He loved causing pain. He loved watching his victim squirm and beg to make it stop. That's just how the dragon was.

Zuuko pulled his hand back from the girl, raising an eyebrow as the other demon froze her entire side. Shaking his head, he looked back towards where the wizard and the elf were no longer cornered. What kind of a creature besides a demon could do that? he thought to himself curiously.

Willow watched as the flames disappeared and she closed her eyes. As Jethrow had instructed, she reached out with her mind, feeling for the girl's subconscious. Upon finding it, she began to channel her energy as heavily as she could without harming herself. The defenses around the girl's mind were well-built, and Willow's brow furrowed in concentration.

Demetri frowned at Fester, a little disconcerted. He was glad to have this little information in his store, but use it? He hadn't thought to. I must be sick from the dimensional change, he thought to himself, realizing that his mind should've jumped straight to the sadistic thoughts Fester was lingering on. "I suppose we'll wait for an opportune moment. As I said, it's beneficial for me to stay here in child's form and trick them into trusting me. Once I've been pulled into their hearts, I'll use that to my advantage. This singular fact may not even need to come into play. If it does, it might only serve the purpose of momentarily incapacitating the fox and letting us make an escape, or attack, or some sort." It was then that Demetri realized he was lying to the dragon: He just didn't have the desire to make the demon suffer over the loss of her mother.

Anya actually began to shiver a little at the amount of ice coating her side and keeping her in place. She sparked a little flame in her hand, but only a layer of the ice melted, soaking her and making it impossible for her to use fire in that hand for the time being. The cold spread throughout her, and she couldn't get her fire to work right again. Panic began to spread through her, and she glanced back up to Jethrow and the elf. Jethrow held the antidote in his hand as he approached again, and the elf was concentrating hard. Anya frowned, then a mental alarm went off. Her mind was heavily guarded, as it always should be, which meant she had several layers of protection. The mental alarm went off because the first layer had been broken through. What the hell? she thought angrily, shutting her eyes and looking for the culprit. It was the stupid little elf. Quickly, the hybrid tried to mend the layer, but she couldn't even try to. Her second layer slowly began to fell and she growled out loud in frustration, opening her eyes and glaring at the elf, trying to block her as best she could with the angriest, most violent thoughts she could come up with.

Jethrow let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as the fire disappeared. He watched as Willow began to work on her task, and he looked at Anya. It took a few moments, but soon she realized that an attack on her mind was happening, and she, too, began to work with her mind, trying to block the elf, no doubt. He walked forward slowly, holding the antidote carefully so there was no chance of it spilling. "Her mind will only be unguarded for a brief amount of time, so warn me when you've broken through completely," he said to Willow, again holding his breath. His plan was to force Anya to drink the antidote as soon as Willow was done, and if that didn't work... He wasn't quite sure.

'Master? Master, your energy has changed.' the dragon said, looking to the wizard curiously. Something was up with his once demonic master. He was not one to hold back, even with such knowledge. This was not like his master. 'Is something on your mind master?'

Luke continued to keep his ice around the half demon. Best keep her in place when Jethrow tried to force feed her the potion. Luke was barely putting in any effort controlling his ice. That didn't make it weak, but he had centuries of experience so it didn't require much from the wolf demon.

Willow could feel that the girl was resisting and she persisted, glad to see she'd made enough progress to break through at least one layer of defenses. Getting to work on the next layer, Willow stopped. Whoever it was that had taught the girl to work with her mind was brilliant. There was a sudden, makeshift wall of anger and violence, and Willow's mind automatically tried to shy away. No, she told herself firmly. Using her own thoughts, Willow quickly interjected through the wall of anger, breaking it up and beginning to work on bringing down the last few defenses.

Demetri stared at the dragon for a moment, as though he was confused or dazed, or both. He shook his head, coming out of a daydream. "I suppose something is on my mind. I'm not sure what, though," he said, shaking his head and running a hand through his hair. He reached out and patted the dragon's neck reassuringly, crossing his ankles. "As I said, we'll hold onto this tidbit of information."

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream.

Anya growled again as the elf began to break through her short-term walls. Completely ignoring everything else, Anya concentrated all her efforts on defending her mind. But the attack kept coming. Keep calm. If you can be calm and relaxed, you can block her effortlessly. However, soon enough, Anya's mind was broken into. A fresh wave of panic came through the fairy-demon, and she watched as the elf, who must've been experienced in breaking minds, didn't linger in her mind. She was targeting an exact location and Anya was stunned. However, the problem with entering another person's mind was that it opened up your own mind for someone. Quickly, Anya read what was on the surface. It's not going to work! she taunted at the elf, reading that Jethrow's intent was just as she suspected: to revert her loyalties back from Demetri. However, she wasn't sure it wouldn't work. Even Anya knew that stubbornness only got one so far.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.

Jethrow watched Anya's face, and he didn't need Willow's signal to know that the witch had gotten through. "Do not let her move," he ordered Luke and Zuuko firmly. He had no doubt that the ice layer coating her wouldn't let her move, but he had to be sure. Though Anya struggled away from him, he grabbed her chin firmly, bringing the cup of potion to her mouth and struggling against her, trying to force her to drink it. Frowning from effort, Jethrow glared at her in frustration. Anya had set her mouth in a tight line and refused to let him give her the potion. If I can't get it in her mouth, I can't get her to swallow it!

[OOC]Sorry; my dad is having a huge shouting match with his girlfriend right now...Kinda hard to concentrate.

Luke growled some as Anya refused to open her mouth. Going to be stubborn, eh? Well he was good at dealing with it. "Sorry, Anya." he muttered, mostly to himself as he stamped down right on Anya's foot where his ice was not. He'd done this one time before, purely on accident, but he knew it'd make her open that mouth.

The dragon murred, trusting his master, before glancing to the door. 'The fox is coming. Hide my master.' Fester said, slipping out the window as to not get caught. Though he forgot to remind Demetri about the charm bells and to put them back.

Demetri watched as Fester slithered away and he felt himself shrinking again. Quickly, his little fingers fumbled to re-button his shirt. Crap, he thought, irritated, as he ran to close the window behind the dragon.

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream.

Anya glanced at Luke from the corner of her eye just before he stamped on her foot. Her mouth opened as she yelped, and suddenly the rim of the cup was against her teeth and the liquid inside filling her mouth. The half-demon wasn't done being stubborn yet, though, and she quickly clamped her throat closed, not allowing any of the potion to trickle down, which took some concerted effort.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing.

User Image
Jethrow nodded his thanks to Luke as the wolf demon forced Anya to open her mouth, and he frowned as he pulled the cup away from her. "Don't even try to spit it out," he said, covering her mouth so that she had no choice but to swallow, unless she wanted to hold that potion in her mouth for hours. The wizard knew that the antidote was made with a few rather...adverse ingredients, meaning the potion itself would be rather disgusting.

Of course Demetri found himself lifted up by the back of the shirt. The angry fox peered at him, her anger obvious as she held up the charm bells. "Where did you get these." she said lowly, very annoyed that one a boy would rummage through her things, but another to take out her mother's charm bells.

Anya not swallow? Great. Now Luke didn't have a solution for that, but Lunora used to do the same thing. "You might just want to swallow it. That bad taste is bound to start building up soon." the wolf said, keeping his ice strong to hold the half demon.

Willow watched as Jethrow attempted to force the girl to drink her antidote, and she bit her lip as she sat down in a nearby chair, rather exhausted. She saw that they couldn't force the girl to swallow the liquid, though, and she sighed. "If you blow on her nose, as strange as it sounds, she'll have to swallow," she said, remembering her medical knowledge.

Zuuko looked over at Willow, raising his eyebrow. Blow on her nose? It sounded strange, but he could understand how, by blocking an airway temporarily, instincts would force the body to clear the throat so that you could open your mouth. Shrugging, the demon leaned over the girl's shoulder, doing as Willow said and blowing air into the girl's nostrils.
